Hi all,
I am in a bit of a quandary. I was hoping for some advice.
My boyfriend and I just spent a week in a timeshare unit (owned by his mother) in Orlando, it's literally a 10 minute drive to the parking lots at the Disney parks. (I timed it one day). We both love the condo, as it's very big and comfy. We were there about a month ago.
Upon returning, we booked a quick trip in Dec. I have always wanted to see WDW decorated for the holidays and so the first weekend in Dec. sounded great. So, I booked a Dream Maker package (the basic one) with UPH passes for 4 days/3 nights at Pop Century (requested the 80's block!). I know I could save a little money by booking everything separate, but we want to do the Leave a Legacy tile at Epcot which is an option with the package. The grand total for this came to about $720. That seemed reasonable to me.
Now I have just found out that we could use the Time Share again for this trip. Although, if we don't we can save it for a time when we can go for a full week (or two!). We'd do it this time, but we can't get the time off work.
So my question is, would it be worth saving a little extra cash to use the Timeshare this time? I'm not actually sure how much we'd save since our trip is pretty inexpensive per person anyway at the moment. Are the UPH's worth it for us? If we stayed offsite could we still do MVMCP?
Also, on our Sat, I'd have either skip the dinner we wanted or seeing Fantasmic. Which would you skip?
Our schedule would be this:
Arrive late (like midnight late) Wednesday night & stay in a hotel 1/2 way between MCO and WDW.
Thursday
Have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare
Go to Pop to pick up our passes (I know we can't check in till 3 but have been told we can pick up our UPH passes)
MK for the day with a lunch at the castle
later Dinner at LTT
MVMCP (which costs extra, I know, but will have us there till midnight!)
Friday
Epcot all day
Breakfast at Askerhus
Lunch Biergarten
Dinner Marrakesh (opting to skip the CP, which I don't think would be our sort of show, but we'll see)
Adventurer's Club till the wee hours
SAT
MGM when it opens
Early lunch at Sci Fi
Had planned on leaving MGM to go to an early dinner at Chef Mickey's and then Disney Quest but then realized that we'd miss Fantasmic
So I think we'll skip Chef Mickey's, and spend the day at MGM. Eat maybe, at the Brown Derby.
After Fantasmic, Disney Quest for a few hours and back to the Adventurer's Club
(This day needs to be worked out...we want to split between MGM/ DQ / AC)
SAT
If we keep to our original plan which was :
MGM early
early lunch at Sci Fi
Early dinner at Chef Mickey's
DQ / AC
We would have to skip Fantasmic
Sun
Possibly go to Ak in the early AM for Safari and Dinosaur (maybe not, though)
Spend the rest of the day at Epcot
(dining to still be worked out...Breakfast at Garden Grill, maybe and probably a late lunch at Teppanyaki)
Flight leaves around 8:30 so we need to leave WDW by 6.
