Help me decide!! I just can't make up my mind!!

My choices for our week in May are narrowed down to Staybridge Suites for $99 a night or Cypress Pointe Resort for $80 a night. Cypress Pointe Villas are $128 a night, so they are not an option.

Staybridge would be a two bedroom / two bath, and Cypress Pointe would be a three bedroom / three bath - either would fit our particular situation.

Plusses for Staybridge are the free breakfast (continental), room service (I really don't feel like washing towels and making up beds on vacation!), and the fact that I feel more confident about the condition of the rooms. Negatives - none that I know of.

Plusses for Cypress Pointe, other than the price are what seems to be a more fun pool for the kids (slides!), playground (is it that great of a place?), and the biggest plus is the whirlpool bath (my DH REALLY REALLY wants this!) - There is an outdoor spa at Staybridge, which he could live with, but he would prefer the whirlpool bath. Negatives - well, the mixed reviews just have me a little nervous. I've read every thread I could find on Cypress Pointe. I know the Villas would be better, but I can't justify the difference in cost. Also, I don't want to have to be running to the store when we run out of toilet paper or towels - just little things that I wouldn't have to be worried about with Staybridge, not that they are that big of a deal.

So, well, I just can't decide. We are going for the weekend in a couple of weeks. I know I can ride by and see the exteriors, but do you think seeing a room would be an option? I know that's no guarantee what I might actually get when we check in, but it might help me feel better.

Those who really don't like Cypress Pointe Resort, is it just because you prefer the Villas? I don't mind a little worn, I just don't want dirty and nasty.

Hi there in Pensacola!

Love your beaches!

Personally, I would go with Cypress Pointe for more room.

However, given what you expressed about not doing chores on vacation, sounds like Staybridge is the better choice.

Both locations are excellent near dtowntown disney.

Staybridge was a Wyndham hotel not too long ago. Wonder if it's been remodeled.

I've had good luck with seeing rooms when visiting hotels. As long as they aren't super busy, it's not usually a problem. We've been shown rooms at the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, the wilderness lodge and other places. I just tell say that we're considering staying there in the future and would it be possible to see a room?

People are always very nice about this. The CM who showed my mom & I around the Grand Floridian was so proud of the place! It was cute. He totally sold my mom on staying there next time!

Go to www.hotelkingdom.com and get the 2 bdr. at CPGV for $88.39. At 1,329 Sq. Ft it is plenty big and has a king, two twins and a queen sleeper sofa. Hope this helps.

Actually, the two bedroom at Cypress Pointe doesn't work for our particular situation. We've got 6 people, and none of us are going to be comfortable on a sleeper sofa. So, the three bedroom is our only option at Cypress Pointe.

The two bedroom at Staybridge has a king and two doubles/queens, so that would work.

I'm really just trying to figure out if the resort at Cypress Pointe is really that bad. I can understand why the Villas are preferred, but as long as the Resorts aren't totally yuck, then I'm okay with that.

I think I'm probably just going to try to squeeze in a visit when we're there in a few days and see if I can see one of the rooms. Do you think it would be okay to say, "I found a great rate for this place and would like to see what the rooms are like." That way they know what rate I would be paying so they would know what section they would probably put us in. Still doesn't guarantee that's the section they would give us at check-in, but hopefully, it would give me some idea.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

:p Hi I just booked through Hotel Kingdom for three nights at $63.99/night. Looking forward to my first stay at this resort.

I would suggest Cypress Pointe. That whirlpool bath that your dh wants certainly would be a big plus, wouldn't it?

Mudd77 has a good suggestion as well about hotel kingdom rates for the Villas. If you ask to see a room, more than likely they will accomodate you.

The whirlpool bath is probably going to end up being the deciding factor! :)

Hotelkingdom is where I found my rate for Cypress Pointe, same rate he/she found for the three bedroom. The two bedroom really just won't work for us though.

iluvflorida - I sent you a PM. Thanks!!

I stayed at CP resort a year ago and our place was great. It was clean had lots of room. I know others have gave some unfavorable reviews, but I had no problems there.

HTH,

Cypress Pointe... We're going in April, and I just recently found this hotel. We love staying at the Crossroads area, so the location is right. It also seems like a great deal for a suite hotel. We stayed at the Summerfield LBV (now Staybridge Suites) and thought it was nice. (a couple blocks away from Cypress Pointe).

My questions...

1) How does it compare to places like Staybridge, Hawthorn, Homewood, etc. suites.

2) Where is it from the main Crossroads intersection...just curious.

3) They want like $40 per day for maid service???? How does that work? What if you just want new sheets every couple of days? Is there a vacuum in the room..or do you need to pay $40 to vacuum your room?

4) They have tennis, basketball, mini-golf,etc. Is this free? and do they have equipment you can use?

5) Confused about Cypress Point vs Cypress Pointe Villas. For a 2 bedroom one is $63, the other $88.

6) Do they have any type of reception each night, any free cont. bfast, etc...

7) What is the view like? I would likea room on the top floor..and I'm assuming theyall have balconies?? Are we looking at a parking lot..can you see DTD..a pond...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
