Help! Someone stole my Mickey antenna topper

Call it irony..

My pirate themed mickey topper was stolen.. while I attended a pirate-themed dress up party

Arrghpirate:

I too have had my fair share taken.:sad2: I stocked back up this past August when at WDW. I used to have them in my bedroom but there are to many of them now!!:lmao: So I put two sided velcro on the bottom of each of them and lined them up across the dash board of my car:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now when I am driving around I can look at all 18 of them:thumbsup2 (all different) and know that if the one on my antenna if swiped I have immediate backup availible!!

I purchased mine at the Disney Store - actually got 2 incase mine would happen to get stolen.

I've also seen them at Walmart...and very cute ones I might add.

 I had to rush out and check on mine. They are still there but Nemo's good fin and tail are gone.:scared1: Poor fish will be swimming around in circles now. I would be devastated if someone stole my DCL mickey-I don't know when I will get to take another cruise.
At least no one stole him. I have seen a bunch of different ones in the Disney Store. I'm also saw one for trade-the thread is on the budget board.

the glue works, till some crazy person takes the whole antenna.
1 option that ive seen a few other people talk about and 1 that i use also time to timew as to use a small screw hook into the top of the head n use it to hang off your rear view mirror.

yea some states(at least i think some are like this) make it illegal to hang junk from your rear view and some of the toppers with hats or other decorations on the very top wont work.
but hey it is another option to show off your stuff safely

The spring stand is on the link hrh disney queen posted. May have to get a few of those, I'm scared to put mine on , and that way I could put a couple on the dash.

I bought several of those Coolbuddies stands that Laughing Place sells. I put them in the back of my Subaru Outback wagon because it didn't have an external antenna. I like that I am able to display several different toppers at once and they stay clean (my Santa Mickey got so nasty from driving in snow). I found that the sticky stuff on the bottom doesn't stick very well, so I bought velcro circles w/sticky backs at Staples, that are the exact same size as the bottom of the stand. This way I can just un-velcro the stand to put the new topper on and it's easy to adjust it once it's in there.

I never had a topper stolen, but some punk broke one of Mickey's ears off.
Poor Mickey he never saw it coming. My new van doesn't have an external antenna, so I display them in other ways.

I actually saw a teenager swipe one off a vehicle one time....makes me wonder if it is some kinda crazy game to see who gets the most?...i dunno but here's what I did:
My new vehicle does not have an antenna, so I had my husband put some fishing line through it and I hang it on my rear view mirror! I thought it was a great idea to display my "pirate" mickey and it won't disappear!

 I had to rush out and check on mine. They are still there but Nemo's good fin and tail are gone.:scared1: Poor fish will be swimming around in circles now.

I've had a few Nemos, and his "lucky" fin has never been too lucky...we keep losing them!

I got back just 2 weeks ago from a fabulous trip, and low and behold someone stole my brand new pirate mickey antenna topper.
 So sorry this happened. The only one I "lost" (I say lost because I'm not sure if it fell off??) was a NAVY officer antenna topper. Anyway - I was wondering what other antenna toppers you have? I'll trade my Pirate Mickey for one of yours?

His idea is to stick a few tiny straight pins through the next one (if we even try to replace it) - kinda like a little porcupine - and won't the culprit get a fun surprise as they wrench the topper off in the dark??? :lmao:

I've heard of that, but haven't tried it yet. I may, though, because this week I plan on putting on my Pirate Head topper.

My DHs keeps getting swiped too, (the sorcerer's hat one) and I can't find them anymore - even at WoD in NYC. Ugh! Seems to happen at night from right in front of our house...

I would be very careful with this idea. With all the things that people sue others over and WIN, you may be setting yourself up for a crazy lawsuit..I totally think the thief would deserve getting their fingers poked, but the law may not see it that way..

They may also retaliate by damaging your car.:headache:

I hate thieves...

We actually made our own antenna topper from a broken headband purchased at WDW that had a pooh on one side and an piglet on the other. They had the WDW initials on it and all.

After the headband cracked, we took the 2 heads off, and put the piglet on the antenna. Living in NYC, I was always afraid it would get stolen, and never did....until we drove down to WDW, and while eating at the Beaches & Cream, and parked in the Beach Club parking lot, it got stolen. Who'd a thought!?!?

Wow, thanks to you all with your sentiments and stories. I feel so much better being able to vent. I kinda took it personally when my Mickey was stolen, but I guess it happens much more often than we would think. I cannot believe someone would steal these at WDW! Some nerve :sad2:
I looked on ebay and saw a cute decal with Mickey peeking out the back window, I may get this in replacement of my Mickey topper. This won't get stolen at least. If I get another topper, I will have to lock him up inside! Thanks for all your replies, I love the DISboards! :lovestruc

A simple fix for items you need to replace. You can call the WDW mail order at (407) 363-6200 tell them what it is you are looking for and they can send the item to you.
Hope this helps

ringow,
How about I mail you a brand new pirate Mickey topper? PM me your address and it will be on its way tomorrow. To pay for it you can send me a little pixie dust for a magical trip next week!

but if it's too OT, please feel free to tell me so.

Back in July, when we went to WDW, I purchased a lime green Mickey ball keychain. I remember seeing lots of them around, in almost every store we went to.

Now I'm really kicking myself for not buying more. Is there a way you can buy these online or can you only purchase them at the parks?

Theme park merchandise cannot be ordered online, or at the Disney Store, etc. It's theme park specific. BUT, you can call WDW merchandising at 407-363-6200 and they might be able to help you out. Shipping can be high, but out of state orders pay no tax.
