Arrive 30 minutes before the park opens, and get as much done as possible in the first 2-3 hours the park is opened and the crowds are low. The difference in temperature between 8-9am and 11am-noon is extraordinary!
Stay out of the parks 12-5ish if you can. Unless we're staying for an afternoon parade, by the time the park is hot and crowded, we go back to the hotel and lay in the pool and take a nap in the AC of the room. When you get back to the park, it's cooler, less crowded, and you will feel good.
Gotta drink that water! All counter service restaurants and many vendors can give you a huge cup of ice water for free. Drink before you get thirsty. We will bring Kool Aid or Crystal Light packets to mix with the water for variety.
Sunglasses and maybe a visor - I put the sunglasses on a neck strap, so when I go inside, I just rest them around my neck. No worries about losing them or scratching them.
2 words: MISTING FAN! Lol. These things are amazing! Especially filled with some ice water. Spray each other to your hearts' content!
Every time you go to the bathroom (which should be frequently from all that water you're drinking, right?
), get a bunch of paper towels wet and put them on your neck and forehead. It helps a little.
Don't forget the sunscreen. Sunburn is pretty miserable.
