I need some advice. We are going to WDW September 23-30th with the Magic You Way Package with free dining. Originally when I made the reservations we had five people in our party; me, my mother, my 23 year old daughter, my 15 year old son and my 3 year old granddaughter. I booked two rooms at POP Century in order to save money versus getting two rooms at a moderate, and I knew my 3 year granddaughter would love PC. I also liked the idea of having two bathrooms to assist us in getting ready in the mornings. Now, it looks like my mother will not be able to go with us. The dilemma I am now looking at is to stay with two rooms at Pop Century or book one room at POFQ. This would be feasible since we will now only have 4 in our party. I like the amenties that come with a moderate such as the refrigerator, nicer pools, bigger room, and we could save about $140.00 versus the cost of two rooms at Pop Century. We have been guaranteed two connecting rooms at POP, so it may not seem so small. What would you do? I would also appreciate any opinions on POP since we have never stayed their before.

Thanks in advance. :)

If you will be a party of 4, I'd go with the moderate for sure. Especially if it is $140 less. Cheaper & a nicer resort IMHO can't be beat. :sunny:

Call me a resort snob, just got back from POP in March,
and although it was okay and saved money, even my hubby agree's
we will stay at MOD's from now on!
Mainly for the pools (want a slide) and the extra room that they have. :goodvibes

side note: we have stayed at nearly every type of resort, and this was our first time at POP (value) so I can compare and I think you get more for your
money at the MOD's. oh yeah, and we paid $10 a day for a fridge-- so think of that savings as well, since a fridge is included in moderates. :wave2:

You have 4 people, but I wouldn't stay at POFQ unless you want to sleep with your 15 year old son. I assume that your 23 year old DD is the parent of the 3 year old and they would sleep in one bed. POR rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort have trundle beds that may be big enough for your son and you get your own bed :).

i would stick w/the two rooms... given the makeup of your group, plus the extra bathroom and television can be quite a blessing... i know no one goes to wdw to watch tv, but when trying to get a little one to wind down at night, it can come in quite handy... and i'm sure what the 3yo wants to watch will not be what the 15yo will want to watch, kwim?

we loved pop century... it's a great resort... they have the cool little pop jets water play area for the 3yo and one of the best arcades on property for the 15yo!

i say the space is worth the 140, but then again, we always take two rooms at a value or a mod and we're a family of four...

dilemma and I chose to go with the two rooms at Pop. To me it will be worth the extra $140 for the second bathroom, second tv, and the kids being able to sleep in their own beds.

Thank you all for the good advice. I think I will stick with the two rooms at POP. I do like the idea of having two bathrooms, and we could each have our own bed. I never thought of that before. ;) Also, there is a possibility that if my father does better my mother might be able to go with us.

Thanks again. :sunny:

I'd go with the moderate room at POR. You can get the trundle bed for gd (she'd probably love it). You'd have the boat to downtown disney, a larger room, better pool, sit down restaurant, beautiful theming and you'd save money! What more could you ask for?

What more could you ask for?[/QUOTE said:
well, you could ask for a bed for each person, an extra bathroom, a tv for each child (LOL), and an above average value resort!

While POFQ is my favorite resort, I would keep the two rooms. I personally would like having my own bed and having the extra bath is just more convienent. Also, would your 15 year old boy feel funny sleeping with you or Grandma? I'm a full grown women but I still wouldn't want to sleep with my Mother! LOL! Pop is really a cute property and their kiddie pool is wonderful. Your three year old would love it. I like it because it's zero entry - no steps to trip over and it has the squirting water features. My vote would be to keep the two rooms. :flower:

Thanks again everyone. Even though I would love to stay at a moderate, I think it would make more sense to stay with the two rooms at POP. Hopefully, this will help us get started earlier in the mornings with two bathrooms. I also agree with 4theloveofdisney - our three year old will love the icons and the squirting fountains. The downside is it may be hard to get her away from POP. ;)
