Placeholder question

We used our placeholder to book a march 2026 cruise. The placeholder is good until March 30, 2027.

We are now unsure if we want to keep the cruise we booked. Is my understanding below correct:

If we cancel this cruise before PIF we are going to loose our placeholder. The placeholder and deposit would just be refunded to us.

But- I I rebook to a different cruise before PIF and before my placeholder expires it will move to the new cruise.

Does this make sense?

Yes, you want to modify the cruise not cancel it.

Yep. You can modify your cruise to another cruise that sails before the final payment date for your booked cruise and before the placeholder expires. Your deposit and placeholder discount will transfer to that cruise (though the discount won't apply to a concierge room). If you cancel a cruise on which a placeholder was applied, the placeholder will be cancelled and the deposit refunded.
