Hells Kitchen! Official Discussion Thread, Come CHAT!

Yep, we watched. UGH - that 'punishment' for losing the taste-test challenge - BLECH!! I would have had to leave right there!! So nasty.

And I am so glad Vinnie is gone - how long will it take the Blue Team to get Wellingtons right??

The only people I think have a chance are Rock and Julia. Probably Rock, even Chef Ramsay commented about how he took charge in the kitchen last night. And Bonnie has got to be the next to go. "How can I flirt with you in the dark?" Please.

I watched last night.

DH and I weren't disappointed as we had been waiting for Chef Ramsay to overrule the choices put before him, as he has in previous seasons. It's one of the reasons we like this show as much as we do. Strategy doesn't enter into this game.

And, except for the tripe, I'd have been excited to try some new things, along with things I already think are yummy (like the liver and herrings). Grass jelly made me perk up..never even heard of that one before...I wonder what it's made of, tastes like...

I was disappointed that he didn't have miss smarty pants say what she thought she was eating. She could have missed all 3 also but we will never know. I really would have liked Melissa to go -I think it is Melissa? I also think Bonnie did cheat and could hear. I'm glad he can over rule because the girls are such witches you know they will pick on catty reasons not who screws up.

I thought about Bonnie cheating, but if she could hear, why say anything in the first place?

I just finished watching it on my DVR. I have a hard time watching it live because of all of the "abuse" (reminds me of living in NY) and the bleeping. I know it's important for the show but it gets old after awhile.

I thought about Bonnie cheating, too but she DID get the first one wrong. If she could hear him why would she get it wrong?

Glad Vinnie's gone, he got on my nerves. I have to give it to these people to take that kind of pressure to become an executive chef... there has GOT to be an easier way! :rotfl:

BTW, I think I'll puke if I hear the word "risotto" one more time... :scared:

:yay: :yay:

Ready for almost all the ladies to be gone! haaha! 99% of them drive me nuts~

I agree with you there. I wish he would have sent both of them packing last week, and then Bonnie this week because Vinnie would have screwed up again and could have went home then. I so want that Melissa to fall on her snotty face it isn't funny. She is so full of herself.

See, I have to wonder if any of these characters ever have watched the show. They don't know how to make the dishes that are always on the menu, and they don't realize that Chef Ramsey is going to send home who he chooses. It was clear that Bonnie and Vinnie were the worst of the worst, and they were just about all bad, but these two are not nominated :confused3.

So far the people nominating others to go home are not showing the leadership and managerial qualities that are needed to be an executive chef in any restaurant. Rock may be able to cook and he might be able to delegate in a kitchen, but he sure can't choose the weakest link. And I don't understand how Bonnie was not nominated :confused3

They were not nominated because they ARE weak, and easily beaten. It was strategy, not knowing that Chef Ramsay could override their choices. That backfired.

Oh I understood that. What I cannot understand is that it seems as though most of these people have never watched this show. Chef Ramsey has overruled before when the choice was not appropriate. The strategy is not a good one for this show because the winner of this "contest" must run a kitchen and most of the contestants have shown that they cannot see another chef strengths. If they cannot make decisions that are best for their team at this point how will they get beyond their own issues to run a kitchen

Does anyone else think he is more verbally abusive to the women than to the men? It seems like he calls the women worse names than the men?

It doesn't look like any of the contestants have ever watched the show before. I want Melissa gone!

Maybe because there are WAY more negative words to call women? The two worse ones to call men are also insults to women, as in son of a and the other word for an illegitimate child...:sad2:

I have never watched before this year but I did understand Jen and Rock's strategy. Sort of like on Survivor, knocking off a serious competitor makes more sense than getting rid of a person who doesn't stand a snowball's chance to win.

The problem with the strategy is that is does not work in this show. The recommendations are just that, Chef Ramsey has overruled nominations before and then held the poor choices against the contestants. It was pretty apparent last week when Julia was named that he was irritated. One would think that if the chef wannabe's did not understand the show before they would have learned last week.

I am still wondering if any of this group has watched the show becasue they do not apply any of teh lessons that previous contestants have been taught.
