Every book reader I know, including me, was quite happy about that "oh no" death in the books. That character is disliked by a lot of people.

Yeah...I was not happy about the 'oh no' death...if it's the one I am thinking of. There should be 3 deaths...one kinda sad, one 'oh no' (but might be a 'booyah' for some) and one clear 'booyah'. Though I read the books so long ago that I have forgotten some things...which is good while watching the show I can be surprised sometimes.

And an OMG moment for me: I did not realize that Pedro Pascal (Oberyn) also has been on The Mentalist this year (I'm not a regular watcher, but have caught a couple of episodes) and he does NOT have a Spanish accent.

All this talk about upcoming deaths is driving me Neither DH nor I have read the books. There are four people off the top of my head that I would like to see gone. Tywin (sp?) being a major one. I'm also hoping we don't lose any more of the Stark family. That includes John Snow. Looking forward to Sunday's ep!

He's Chilean. He does have an accent naturally but not in The Mentalist.

I've read the books, and I know this is heresy, but the show is SO much better. It's just paced better. Martin writes like Tolkien...snails pace with pages upon pages of descriptions that make me want to scream.

I've really enjoyed the show (and I did enjoy the books). Can't wait to see some of the upcoming deaths and battles! And I have a feeling I know how this season will end muwahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

It took DH and I a couple of weeks to realize it too. We were watching an episode of Mentalist when it dawned on me and I looked him up on IMDB to be sure. He looks and sounds so completely different on the two shows that I didn't notice it at first!

Me too! I kept thinking he was going to say "My name is Inigo Montoya, prepare to die!" And as for Peter Dinklages performance during the trial, amazing. All you need to do is look at his eyes, and you see everything he is feeling.

I came up with the 4th one this weekend, too. ;-)

Having just finished the last written book, I cannot see how they are ever going to follow the storylines -- thinking of Arya's, especially. They've done a good job of combining/deleting/adding material, but I'm afraid they will stray more this next season.

But I love it all anyway. (Didn't see last night's episode yet, but was expecting more chatter this morning -- unless some things haven't happened yet!)

I do wish they could have stuck with the book a bit more. I really think things like the stairs would have explained how so few Night's Watchmen were able to put up any kind of resistance to the massive hordes of Wildlings.

I know exactly what you mean, i felt that way after last weeks fight scene. And last nights wore me out too! but i won't say anything until everyone sees the episode.
i do wish i had read the books first.
