:::sliding over next to my NEW best friend::::
Hiya Lesley so when in June are you going to be there?:lmao:
Only kidding (sort of..)
My DD6 and I are doing an all girl trip June 14-21. We are staying conceirge but NOT the grand suite :rolleyes1
Mare is also going to be there at the same time. I think we are going to try and meet up at the pool with the kids one afternoon but we have yet to iron out the details.
You will LOVE the GF!!! We stayed there for the first time in Feb and we are already going back.
There is a lot of great info on the FAQ thread! We are all just waiting for Kelly to return from Disney so she can start a new one. We use this thread for general chatting and gossip along with cute little dresses and cakes and little things to make our trip more special.
WELCOME
:::: passing a cup of java and a scone over to my new best friend::::

We will be there the 11th to the 18th. I am really excited but don't know what to expect!

What is the deal with renting cabanas? I would love to get one each afternoon. Are they difficult to come by? How do I go about getting one?

There are pics of the cabanas on the FAQ thread. You get a nice little shaded tent, cushy chairs, fresh towels brought to you whenever you need them, a stocked mini fridge, a tv and an outdoor air conditioning type fan thingy.

They reserve them at odd times though ... I dont remember the time frames off hand but the didn't work out for us this trip. I think it was from 10-2 and 3-8 or something like that. WishesQueen can help you more and I KNOW SHE HAS THE NUMBER :rotfl: :rotfl:
Since your staying concierge, I would suggest calling the IPO people and see if they can get you a ressie ASAP.
As we will be there the same time, you might run into Mare and I :rotfl:
I will be the one with the most adorable little girl in the resort and Mare has 2 boys 1 and 4 *I think*.

And Kelly makes fun of MY backpack!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I FROZE MY @ss OFF at the soccer game.....I am still in my three layers and I was under a fleece blanket but the wind on the field was horrendous & I have been home for almost an hour and I am still shivering inside...I can't get warm. I had no idea it would be that cold. Jojo cried....and she is not a crier by any means - she is a tough cookie, but she cried she was so cold and the wind blew her around the field. I promised she could take a nice long hot shower here, but lovely DS used all teh hot water. He likes to sit down in the shower for an hour or so.......UGH!!!!!! Teens. Dawn, if you think it's cold bundle up three times as much as you think you should for that game....this weather is unreal.:headache:

Hi, Leslie, that is so fun that you're staying in a suite. Do you know which one?? Where is located etc?? There are so many. I'd want to know and I am curious about yours, too. :goodvibes

Annette
- YAY! For the cabana!!!!:thumbsup2 I am thinking maybe we should book it a couple days for the shade....I dont' know. I hate committment. haha...

The cabana hours are 10-2 and then 3-7 at $60 each or $110 for the whole day. they take a CC and you have a 24 or 48 hr cancellation period....not sure which.

Happy day!

:)

Could someone PLEASE explain to me WHY i need to bring a toaster?!?! Seriously pack a toaster? Do I pack the bread and let it get smooshed in the luggage to use with the toaster?!

Is toast soooo much more expensive than a slice a bread at WDW?!!?

Is the 5 pound toaster worth getting charge $50 for oversized luggage?! Just how expensive is toast at WDW?!?!?! :rolleyes1

:rotfl: :rotfl: Well it was just a cost saving idea....:rotfl: :rotfl:

I remember the first time I saw a family with a rolling cooler in the park, sitting on the grass eating lunchables I thought WOW...things are getting weird here. Honestly. It was really strange to see. :confused3 I would never think to bring appliances, coolers, food - other than granola bars...and I admit I brought pop tarts last month when we were at the Swan for Jojo in the morning because she is such a picky eater and always wakes up starving....but she eats them cold. No toaster going in my luggage......where'd I put it?!?!?!?!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'd rather shove one of those margarita makers into my duffles.....

FYI my little WW friend...
margaritas are a billion calories a glass
wine is 90 calories a glass....

So instead of the mixer just pack your wine cellar :rotfl2:

Brook - Now I see the reason you and your DH married!!! You are hysterical!!

You guys are match made in heaven with your backpacks!!

You got my attention with the Bedbug detector???????

Leslie - Welcome!!!

We love the cabanas and Channing gave you all the information already. I am under the assumption that when you stay concierge, they can book the cabanas for you. But if not these are the rules, you can book them 90 days out each morning you need to call at 6:58 a.m. there are only 2. The phone number is 407-wdw-play!! You'll love them!!!:thumbsup2

oh yes my little wishesqueen.... it isnt a complete WDW trip until you pack and use your trusty little bedbug detecting kit :wizard:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1800744

I am debating bringing the family photo album... i mean I dont want to forget what my boys look like for that entire week... what do you gals suggest?! Should I carry around my boys' baby books just to be on the safe side?

But I was under the impression that when you're on vacation NOTHING has calories or points:eek: :rotfl: Wine irritates my stomach.:guilty: When I am home, Diet Coke is my beverage of choice.....I am a junkie for it so no worries, but I love a nice margarita or pina colada on vacation. :thumbsup2

OK, if I can't bring a toaster.....can I bring my George Foreman Next Generation Grille and my fajita warmer??:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It has a 96 inch cooking service and removable plates..:rotfl:

OK, I just read that thread, Brook, about tipping etc....somebody actually said towel animals were the highlight of their trip.:rotfl: Either that's a fullout exaggeration or they had a pathetic trip.:rotfl:

PS...Brook - if you are serious about missing your boys/dh...you could get one of those handy key rings where you can put the digital pics on....haha.....I am the QUEEN of key rings....I collect them every WDW trip...my backpack is a conversation starter.

<GASP>
Channing you made JO JO eat cold pop tarts?!?!?!
You mean you didnt even ATTEMPT to pack a toaster?!?!?!

What kind of mother are you?!?!?!?!?!? I have lost all respect in you... I can only hope you nursed her for a good 30 minutes before making her eat that cold pop tart!!!! ;) :rotfl2:

OMG...I used formula. NO nursing.:rotfl: :rotfl: I am worse than you even thought.:rotfl2:

Here is my GF question for the day...

I thought the conceirge rooms were generally ready earlier than the regular rooms? What has been your experience?
:

Last summer we had 3 rooms in RPC all in a row with 2 connecting. None were ready before 2pm IIRC and then we got one room, than one that wasn't connecting and then in an hour or so the 3rd room.
They were great about checking on the rooms and getting our luggage in the room as soon as we got into it.

I'm not expecting our rooms to be ready next wednesday when we arrive around 10am so for the first time we will be checking in and jumping right over to a park for the day. We only have 4 nights so we don't have too many options.

yeah my post have been a bit tongue and cheek :rotfl2:
on the DIS this morning :rotfl2:

I guess I need my Disney fix to put me in that magical mood... either that or my chocolate :rotfl2:

Seriously...no joking aside.... STOP DRINKING DIET COKE!!!!!!!! Don't do it.... throw it out.... yuck yuck yuck....
Do you know what that crap does to your diet?!?!?!?!?

1. it DOES effect your blood sugar levels making you get serious munchies... it is no calories but it makes your blood sugar like a roller coaster!!!
2. It expands your stomach!!!!! It really does.. don't believe me? Take a 2 litter bottle..freshly opened and stick a balloon on that sucker. That is what it is doing to your gut! It will make you EAT more!
3. Its full of crap that is REALLY not good for you AT ALL

Stick with non carbonation type drinks. You will have a much easier time losing weight if you toss that junk.
:scared1: :scared1:
:::: stomping through Channing's pantry .... pouring all diet coke down the drain::::::
GET OFF THE STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Brook (big whine) I LOVE IT. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.....   I NEED IT!!!! NEED NEED NEED IT....(all said in the most annoyingly whiney voice I can produce)......

You are probably right, but it is my crutch. I LOVE IT>...I am doing OK...I lost 50lbs with it as my baby right here next to me at all times......it's my security.:cloud9: :cloud9: MUST HAVE DIET COKE.....My insides are probably rotted and rusty, (oh, maybe not, since it can clean rust off pennies, haha) but I love it.....

I try and do some Crystal LIght in between, but I have Diet Coke running thru my veins. It's my energy juice of life.:rotfl:

I have been so good on my diet though. I have a goal. WDW in summer.:thumbsup2

:)

Your just whining so the tag fairy will see you :rotfl2:

I too was a HUGE Diet coke FIEND... I could not live without it!!! It is addictive... biologically addictive. You have to break off slow... no going cold turkey or you seriously go through withdrawls!!!

It also dehydrates you! You need to be drinking around a gallon of water a day for proper weight loss. Did you know this? You need to flush your fat cells and get rid of the toxins building up in your body. Water is one of the key mistakes people make when trying to lose weight!!!! Diet coke makes it even worse.

SOOOOO hush your mouth, stop your whining and get rid off the drugs woman :rotfl:

I know - I'm sorry! :flower3: But friends don't let friends stay in the Sheraton! :rotfl:

LOL!! THat is funny!:goodvibes Welll....that Sheraton on Kauai looks pretty online...see what i mean?!?! They can be really sneaky with the photos.....:rolleyes1

I am thinking of going back to the GF in March 12-18 2020

Anyone know what the weather is going to be like that week?:grouphug:
