Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Was it at Walgreens?
Yep. Got another email a little while ago saying they would be calling to reschedule.

I already scheduled for tomorrow at a Walgreens in WV. They had a lot of appointments. It better not get cancelled. I have other medical things I need to get done and I just want this out of the way.

At least they are working with you to reschedule and you were able to reschedule. Did they say why it was canceled? Seems like maybe a supply issue. I am hopeful that if this issue was more widespread that it would be on the news.

I don’t think I’ll feel better about this situation until my second shot is in my arm 😞.

Just got my second Pfizer vaccine this week.

Very thankful to be fully vaccinated. I had a sore arm developing the day of and that night went from freezing cold to very hot. Woke up feeling "icky", even my skin hurt, like when I get the flu. Felt like that all day. Took two naps. Then felt perfectly fine the next day! I let my body do it's thing and tried to hydrate, took my vitamins, and drank OJ.

My husband, and two older children got their second vaccine yesterday, also Pfizer. Only sore arms for them!

DD22 had her second Pfizer shot yesterday at 10:15am. She went to work and started feeling really sleepy around 2:00pm despite having a large coffee. She was also having off and on "tummy ache pangs" as she called it. After work, she went home and took a long nap. She woke up with a fever and had chills, shaking and body aches all night with no sleep. She said she was texting her boss this morning that she would not be going to work. She just took ibuprofen for her fever and body aches and went back to bed hoping to sleep. I promised not to text her until late afternoon unless I hear from her first.

Update on DD22: She woke from her nap around 5:15pm feeling a little better but with a super dry mouth. She had a huge glass of water and decided she was hungry. She ordered a delivery of beef pho, took a hot shower. and then her food arrived. About an hour or so after eating she starting feeling "crappy" again. She took more ibuprofen with another huge glass of water and slept until 8:15 this morning. She feels better today. She said not 100% but well enough to go to work around 10am. Hoping she has turned the corner and will be "normal" tomorrow.

My Walgreens for this morning got canceled as well. I jumped online and got a mid morning appointment at CVS, so I still got the shot today. I got the same email about them calling to reschedule, but no call yet. I wonder if they missed a shipment?

I used vaccinefinder.org to see who had Pfizer in stock in my area, and saw CVS had it, then went to the CVS website and they had a special link for people looking for their second shot. I had to drive a little farther, since the Walgreens was actually walking distance, but I am glad it’s done.

My spouse and oldest got Pfizer #2 today - they are fine for now, and very happy to be done.

Now, to wait for 12-15s to open up, b/c my other kids ask me every day when they can go and get vaccinated, so they can go everywhere again:)...even the youngest wants one, but I told him he'd have to wait til at least Xmas, b/c I don't see under 10's getting approved anytime soon (I probably should have told him 3 years b/c I can imagine us stopping at the 12 year old level)...

Oldest DD is 27 hours post first Pfizer. Her arm is sore and it hurts when she raises her hand above her head.

My immediate family (me & 2 daughters) have all had 1st doses with only sore arms. 2-Pfizer & 1-Moderna. 2nd doses for Pfizer are 5/5 and Modena is 5/9. Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day.

I'm here to vent about Walgreens again. So, DS got his first vaccine over 3 weeks ago, Pfizer. When he set it up online, it made him schedule the first and second dose and automatically put the second at 4 weeks out (even though Pfizer only needs 3 weeks -- I guess they figured it would be easier just in case you wound up getting Moderna). Y'all may remember that I complained here that they also charged him a $2.59 administrative fee instead of passing it onto insurance.

Anyhow, he was scheduled to get the 2nd dose this Friday (4 weeks out) and got an email this morning that it's been canceled! No explanation, just "click here" to reschedule. Of course, NOTHING available there or any other Walgreens in a 30 mile radius in the next week.

I found one for this Saturday at our Kroger that specifically asked if it was a first or second dose and what you previously received. So, it appears he is scheduled the day after he was supposed to get it at Walgreens, but now at Kroger with Pfizer per the confirmation email. He will bring both his vaccination card and the printout from Walgreens which is like a prescription sheet showing that he received Pfizer on that day. I'm hoping they'll accept it and not make him attempt to reschedule at a Walgreens for who knows when.

I was supposed to get my second at Walgreens today, and it got cancelled so I found an appointment at CVS. I took all the Walgreens paperwork, just in case, but the only thing they wanted to see was the vaccination card. So he shouldn’t have any issues getting the second shot from a different vendor.

It does sound like a supply issue but doesn’t appear to be widespread. Glad you were able to get another appointment. CVS is helping out by just scheduling second doses. The closest CVS to me is in Portland and that’s a 2 hour drive. Hoping there are no supply issues when I go for my second dose. Really don’t want to have to drive to Portland if I don’t have to. This whole thing has been so frustrating and stressful.

Oh my, no, I only had a 20 minute drive, and that was with every light red (my luck ). If I had stuck with Walgreens, I could have driven 2-3 hours to get a shot, but I am glad it did not come to that. I hope you can find one close by.:shamrock:

I just got an appointment with my county's direct appointment system, which I found through a link in a local news article.. I first scheduled for tomorrow but then wanted to change to the weekend so my wife and I could do it together. I was actually able to schedule a second appointment for myself, but then called in to cancel the first appointment. I couldn't cancel online unless I had logged in.

I had entered in a non-appointment system before where the county was supposed to contact me with an appointment time, but after a week I hadn't gotten any response.

My county says they're only doing two-shot vaccines - Moderna or Pfizer. The second vaccination is supposed to be automatically scheduled, although I suppose it can be rescheduled by phone if there's an issue with the time.

All done 2nd Moderna Dose in the books, two weeks from now I should be able to hug my adult children again and my 94 year old Mom:yay::goodvibes::yes::. I won't be rushing out to go eat indoors at a restaurant only outside, still wear mask, sanitize, but knowing that I am protected to some degree makes me feel so much better. Disney trip in Sept-October unless the S . . T hits the fan again, it better not :thumbsup2

I did get a call but they transferred me back to the local store that said that they didn't cancel me and that there's nothing they can do about it. So missing the call isn't missing anything. If my appointment for tomorrow is cancelled I'm gonna be pissed.

Definitely keep us posted. Will be crossing my fingers that all goes well for you tomorrow. I am wondering too if something got screwed up in the Walgreens scheduling system because end of last week they started scheduling Pfizer doses 3 weeks out rather than four which is what they had been doing. Plus the J&J mess where Walgreens is now rescheduling people who were supposed to have J&J and giving them Pfizer instead. Just thinking out loud. 🙄

Scott Gottlieb and others have been saying for awhile that supply will exceed demand in April but seems like there are still many supply issues in some places.

Something weird just happened to my son. He is 3 days post vaccine #2. He has a habit of picking at the skin around his fingernails. He just did it and it started bleeding profusely and heavily, much more than usual. It soaked through a band aid in seconds and was dripping. I wrapped it in a wad of gauze and taped it down tight and had him hold his hand up above his heart. It took 25 MINUTES for the bleeding to stop. I had to change the gauze twice.

I called his pediatrician once it finally stopped bleeding, and am waiting for a call back. The nurse said "that is concerning." So now, I'm sitting here clearly thinking the worst.

Ugh...I did not need this stress after this morning with the stress of buying Disneyland tickets!

This has happened when I pulled a hangnail on my thumb but I haven't heard of anything like this related to the vaccine.

Hope everything is okay.
