Membership Magic Beyond or add Photopass Download

We have two WDW trips planned for later this year and are trying to figure out if there is any benefit to Membership Magic Beyond for us.

Memory Maker was the one certain benefit before we decided to add the second trip. But since it would only cover one of the trips it seems to make far more sense to add Photo Pass download to our Sorcerers Pass purchase, since this is good for a whole year.

We won’t be using any OUT points, so it seems that priority access to the member lounges would be the only benefit. Are there any other benefits that I’m missing?

The ability to use points for a Sorcerer Pass renewal. Thst would be the only one that might apply.

Don’t forget the member lounge also includes the after hours meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie at Epcot not just skip to the front of the line priority at the lounges.

The end of last membership year we got a fun magic band slider for having MMB. Not worth $99 but still fun.

For me I spend so much money anyway at Disney spending the $99 is just a drop in the bucket to have for the few perks it comes with like lounges. And I can always use points so if I don’t need points right now I would still buy OTUP and swap them out and bank my regular points forward.

Since we will be retiring the start of next year, we are toying with the idea of another trip in 2027 while still within our annual pass year. We could then use the OTUP for that 🤔

If you want Photopass for both of the trips, it seems like you'd have to buy *some* photopass product at some point, and the chepest way to do that is to add it to one AP, and that would cover both trips.

The other way to do this is if you have two named owners, each one can buy MMB and each would get their own 30 day photopass (I think), but i don't see spending an extra $80 for the incidental MMB benefits---at least, I wouldn't. I can think of a lot of better ways to use $80. I did do the after-hours thing with the Mouse Couple in Epcot and visited the lounge in MK, but neither was "important" enough that I would have spent money on them.

If you take an extra trip (or could use the OTUP some other way) then that's the reason to get MMB. Otherwise IMO it is skippable.

Now that I think of it, my wife also had the thought about buying MMB for both trips. One under my name and the other under hers. That is worth considering.

Any idea if we could do OTUP for both a MMB purchase by myself and my wife?
I have boughten it twice one for me and one for my husband in our different memberships. Some people have been told no and had to try another CM before being allowed to.

This would have to be in different Memberships---each Membership is limited to a total of 24 points per year. If all of your points are titled the same way and in the same UY, I don't think it will work.

One extra benefit of doing it this way: you would both have access to skip the line at lounges without having the "lead" MMB member with you. We learned this the hard way. On our membership, MMB is technically "mine." My husband and I were split up in the park, he went with one group to try out McKim's, which had a 75 minute wait time. They wouldn't let him skip the line without me there, even though the DVC contract is under both our names. The MMB buyer (who is one person and one person only) has to be there.

I'm personally not going to buy two MMB just so that we can skip the line individually, but if there were other advantages...

Yeah this rule makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Luckily I am super needy and not do much without DH

I bought the MMB last month, (? or Late January) I was sent the Mband slider too. Complete surprise.

It is great for that!

We used MMB 2025 to buy 24 OTUPs for our April WDW trip, and MMB 2026 to buy 24 OTUPs for our Sept DL trip.

The 2 sets of OTUP allowed us to extend each trip by 1 night within a reasonable cost.

(We have a Sept UY so that’s how we were able to access 48pts during 2026)

Only a few years ago we did not have blue card or AP and had been buying Memory Maker on average twice per year. That was an expensive habit lol. MMB is getting us alot more for that money spent since we also like using the bogo OTUPs.
