Yep. Got another email a little while ago saying they would be calling to reschedule. Was it at Walgreens?
At least they are working with you to reschedule and you were able to reschedule. Did they say why it was canceled? Seems like maybe a supply issue. I am hopeful that if this issue was more widespread that it would be on the news.Yep. Got another email a little while ago saying they would be calling to reschedule.
I already scheduled for tomorrow at a Walgreens in WV. They had a lot of appointments. It better not get cancelled. I have other medical things I need to get done and I just want this out of the way.
DD22 had her second Pfizer shot yesterday at 10:15am. She went to work and started feeling really sleepy around 2:00pm despite having a large coffee. She was also having off and on "tummy ache pangs" as she called it. After work, she went home and took a long nap. She woke up with a fever and had chills, shaking and body aches all night with no sleep. She said she was texting her boss this morning that she would not be going to work. She just took ibuprofen for her fever and body aches and went back to bed hoping to sleep. I promised not to text her until late afternoon unless I hear from her first.![]()

I'm here to vent about Walgreens again. So, DS got his first vaccine over 3 weeks ago, Pfizer. When he set it up online, it made him schedule the first and second dose and automatically put the second at 4 weeks out (even though Pfizer only needs 3 weeks -- I guess they figured it would be easier just in case you wound up getting Moderna). Y'all may remember that I complained here that they also charged him a $2.59 administrative fee instead of passing it onto insurance.
Anyhow, he was scheduled to get the 2nd dose this Friday (4 weeks out) and got an email this morning that it's been canceled! No explanation, just "click here" to reschedule. Of course, NOTHING available there or any other Walgreens in a 30 mile radius in the next week.
I found one for this Saturday at our Kroger that specifically asked if it was a first or second dose and what you previously received. So, it appears he is scheduled the day after he was supposed to get it at Walgreens, but now at Kroger with Pfizer per the confirmation email. He will bring both his vaccination card and the printout from Walgreens which is like a prescription sheet showing that he received Pfizer on that day. I'm hoping they'll accept it and not make him attempt to reschedule at a Walgreens for who knows when.
It does sound like a supply issue but doesn’t appear to be widespread. Glad you were able to get another appointment. CVS is helping out by just scheduling second doses. The closest CVS to me is in Portland and that’s a 2 hour drive. Hoping there are no supply issues when I go for my second dose. Really don’t want to have to drive to Portland if I don’t have to. This whole thing has been so frustrating and stressful. My Walgreens for this morning got canceled as well. I jumped online and got a mid morning appointment at CVS, so I still got the shot today. I got the same email about them calling to reschedule, but no call yet. I wonder if they missed a shipment?
I used vaccinefinder.org to see who had Pfizer in stock in my area, and saw CVS had it, then went to the CVS website and they had a special link for people looking for their second shot. I had to drive a little farther, since the Walgreens was actually walking distance, but I am glad it’s done.

I did get a call but they transferred me back to the local store that said that they didn't cancel me and that there's nothing they can do about it. So missing the call isn't missing anything. Something weird just happened to my son. He is 3 days post vaccine #2. He has a habit of picking at the skin around his fingernails. He just did it and it started bleeding profusely and heavily, much more than usual. It soaked through a band aid in seconds and was dripping. I wrapped it in a wad of gauze and taped it down tight and had him hold his hand up above his heart. It took 25 MINUTES for the bleeding to stop. I had to change the gauze twice.
I called his pediatrician once it finally stopped bleeding, and am waiting for a call back. The nurse said "that is concerning." So now, I'm sitting here clearly thinking the worst.
Ugh...I did not need this stress after this morning with the stress of buying Disneyland tickets!
