I was wondering if you think it is worth the extra money to stay in a deluxe/DVC resort to get the extra two hours after close? I plan to purchase a couple of the paid extra hours, as we have not been in 7 years and want to make sure we are able to do the new stuff. We will be there June 11-June 21, and have purchased our Annual Passes as well. Right now we are booked at SSR, but contemplating whether it's worth the extra dollars just to get the resort after hours.

Just had full hip replacement, and ready to get back to the parks.

Thanks,

It may be a good value in June due to the heat & humidity. It is normally on Monday at Epcot, and Wednesday at MK. We use them but that is a us thing.

I think there is only a HS, and an Epcot After Hours paid event during your dates.

Thank you for the information, I think we will stay put, I love that resort anyway.

You can get a lot done during the extra evening hours, especially the MK ones. The paid after hours are of course better (and longer) but the deluxe hours are awesome too. As to whether or not it’s worth the extra money, that’s up to you. If you could do a cheaper resort and a paid AH for cheaper then the deluxe then it’s absolutely worth it.

You’re at Saratoga Springs? DVC resorts are deluxe resorts & qualify for deluxe extra hours. So I’m confused by the question.
I am aware they qualify, I was just asking for opinions if you think it's worth the extra cost to stay in a deluxe resort to have access to the extended hours. Sorry if my question was confusing.

Maybe I am confused...? You cannot purchase the "Extended Evening Hours", it only applies to Deluxe resort guests. There are other "Disney After Hours" and such paid ticket events that you can purchase separately from your theme park tickets, whether you are staying at a Deluxe resort or not. So no resort move needed to purchase those (or not purchase them).

I think Focusondisney was letting you know SSR qualified as a Deluxe Resort. So if you're already booked there, you've already spent the dollars on extended evening hours.

If you are inquiring if it is worth your dollars to move to a moderate, or value resort, from SSR then that is a different question beyond just extra evening hours... We don't think Disney Deluxe Resorts are worth it for JUST the Extended Evening Hours, but add that to the several things, and we think the deluxe resorts are worth it. (We are DVC, so that makes a difference to us.)

If you are already booked at Saratoga Springs, you are Deluxe and qualify for the hours, and I would just stay there! Or maybe SSR is a different acronym than I understand it to be...

Enjoy your trip!

I don’t feel like it’s worth it to stay deluxe if you weren’t planning on it. Although it’s a nice perk if you’re already planning on booking deluxe. You’re better off paying for LLSP and LLMP instead of the added cost for a deluxe resort. Maybe a family or four going from expensive moderate to cheapest deluxe may find value over lightning lanes.

We stay deluxe (honestly may downgrade next time though), but if i was planning on staying value/mod I feel like LL would be the better route.

The extra hours for deluxe resort guests are subjective, so you might get different options. For us, I’d much rather have shorter lines and a more casual experience, so it’s a yes for us. You might price the difference in staying deluxe vs a moderate or value with Lightning Lanes added. You’d be able to skip lines with LL, and the overall price might be less. Hope you have a great trip whichever choice you make!

Thank you, we have stayed at Saratoga Springs Resort numerous times, was just trying to value it all out, but we love the resort and will be staying there in June. Thanks for your insight.

We are already booked at SSR, I was just trying to value it out (I am an accountant, it's what I do, lol), we love that resort and will be staying there, while also getting the perk of the EEH's.
