Has anyone asked MS about AP discounts?

I know MS is probably sick of questions about AP discounts (re the survey a while back), but just wondering if anyone has asked. My DH will need to buy one when we go for a few days in December, since we are going back for a long trip next summer, and he wanted me to ask. Of course, when I called (twice!), I forgot.

We're on the wait list for a studio at OKW and BCV for Dec. 28-31, since the flights worked better if we stayed a day or so after our cruise. Three nights are better than one, right? Do you think I should call back and get on the wait list for everywhere? Kind of prefer OKW because we're nearly out of 2005 points!

I guess I don't get your question. There are no DVC AP discounts, so why ask? Are you thinking they'll give you one if you just ask?

Absolutely, get on the wait list everywhere you would want to stay to make sure you have a place to stay. If one of them comes through, you can cancel the others. Good luck!

I have the feeling that if they were going to decide to give us some type of discounts on APs (based on the recent survey), they would make absolutely sure we knew about it. ;)

I wouldn't bother to ask MS. Until such a discount (if there ever is one) is actually announced, they're comment would have to be that there is no DVC discount for APs...period. Your best bet would be to check the member website AND this site prior to your trip. If a DVC AP disocunt is negotiated, it will be announced on the Member site and surely someone will also post it here on the DIS.

If anyone might have a clue before it's announced, it would be a guide. It would be a sales plus for them.

I do not think it is nice to make fun of someone's question. Cute is great but nasty is not neccesary.

I think that the general rule on this board of answering questions that one does not know the answer to, is overrated.

I agree with you; I'm a new member and I look to this board for a lot of my reserach and to answer any questions that I may have. Rude is not necessary!!!!

It's OK. I've posted on Ebay's Shipping discussion board. You have to wear a suit of armor to post there, this is nothing. I'm really asking so I can tell my husband that I asked. Those of you that are married will understand this. I know MS doesn't know anything yet, but try telling my DH that. I just wanted to tell him honestly, "yep, I asked, they don't know anything".

If it makes you feel any better, I can tell you the story of my DH and the time he made me call the airline and ask them if we could get an earlier flight out. It was a different airline then we booked with, taking off from a different airport. He wanted to know if they would accept the other airlines tickets  I started the conversation with... "my DH is making me call and ask you....."

Needless to say, we ended up on our original booked flight...but hey, I did ask, and the lady on the phone LOL at me LOL

And you can be sure that when the discounts are announced (I'm thinking positive vibes here) that it'll be posted on here within nanoseconds.

While there are no DVC AP discounts...there should be. That way, members could receive the best available cash rate AND be able to fully link reservations together. If a DVC member is able to secure a better than 25% discount through a CRO AP-rate, MS should match that discount. Why should a non-DVC member be able to get a better cash rate at a DVC resort than a DVC member?

That is a great answer. I'll remember this the next time my DW tells me something remotely like, "yes, I asked".

I apologize if you took my response as rude, it wasn't intended to be. I was simply curious as to the motivation for asking for something that everyone knows doesn't exist. Things don't always come across as intended in a written form, so again, if anyone was offended, I do apologize.

That is soooo true. You don't want to venture over to the feedback board either.LOL Actually, I don't think jarestel bothered to read your question. I think he thought you were wanting a AP rate on your DVC room instead of a DVC discount on your passes. But still....

With the news of the recent survey on park passes, people are curious if DVC is going to offer a discount on AP's or other types of passes.
