I had reservations for a deluxe room at HRH in November. It was a loews upgrade. I am platinum, but they didn't have any suites available. So I took the deluxe and they told me to keep calling for a suite to open up.

I called today and they told me that the upgrade would be a king which they did have available, but since we had 2 adults and 2 children they couldn't book it for me. I said that I didn't think that was true since I heard people here on the boards say they had 4 in a king suite. She said she couldn't book it no matter what and suggested I call the HRH front desk.

I called the front desk and at first she said they were not any available, but even if there were it would be a $35 dollar upgrade. I told her that was not true, that upgrades were free for platinum members. She went off the line for a bit and came back to say, yes that was true, but they still did not have any available. I chatted with her a bit and told her what the other woman said about occupancy, and she said that she could book it with four people, and that the other woman must have been mistaken. Then she checked the computer one more time and low and behold came up with a king smoking suite. I booked it immedietely.

Why is there such confusion about the occupancy in a king suite at the HRH? It seems wrong that I would get 2 totally different answers in five minutes!

Also does anyone have any photos of the king suite. We have stayed in a king suite at RPR, is it the same layout? Also, we are not smokers, how bad will a smoking room be? She said when we checked in would could ask for a non smoking, but I want to prepare myself for a smoking room. Thanks!!

King suites at HRH have a king bed a pullout. Technically the room is for 3 people but you could probably sleep five. Reservations uses the max occupancy number but the hotel will allow more for some reason. As far as the smoking goes it prob won't be too bad but it's hard to say. If it's too bad they will move you. Definitely request a non smoking suite at check-in or before. They block suites ahead of time but they can easily switch things around. They have done this for me when I wanted a different view. At check-in you also may want to ask for a pool view on an upper floor. I like 6100,5100,or 6040. Enjoy!

Thanks for the response. The thing is they only had a smoking suite available so I took it. I'm not sure what the chances are that we will get one, but I will call closer to my date to see if we can get non smoking.

My suggestion would be to contact Mark Shouger (rooms division director) or Carlton Hudson (General Manager) and ask to be put in a kids suite.

We have found on a number of occasions, some of the staff aren't fully aware of the LoewsFirst perks

BTW According to the front desk, a couple of King suites dont have the fold-out sofa bed. In which case a rollaway would have to be put in the room.

PM me your email and I will forward some king suite photos.
