I had read that you could call Yellow Cab for a special taxi that will accommodate a scooter. So, the night before our O'hana breakfast I called to request one for the next morning at 7:15am. We wanted to leave for HS immediately after breakfast with the scooter.

Well, that morning we waited until about 7:25am and then asked bell services to check on our taxi. They called and found out that Yellow Cab was still trying to locate a taxi for us. This was the reason I called the night before because I thought it might take longer.

In the end, we didn't want to miss our breakfast so we left the scooter and took a regular taxi to Poly and then came back to POFQ to get it before going to the parks.

I was wondering if anyone had success with getting one of these special taxis. We didn't try to get one again during the trip. Thankfully DH can walk short distances with his cane.

We used scooter accessible taxis several times on our last trip to the World. We did call in advance to be sure we were getting what we needed...sometimes called the night before and sometimes an hour before the time we needed it. They were always on time...my husband just drove the ECV up the ramp at the back of the taxi van. Very convenient. I think we called the Mears main number.
