Halloween horror nights

So, is it recommeded to get and Park-to-Park or single Park ticket. From what I've read you have to be in the park for stay and scream.

I'm not sure I'm following exactly what you mean. If you mean for staying in the park between park closing and HHN opening on any particular night, all you really need would be Universal Studios admission that day.
Park to park wouldn't be necessary, all the HHN stuff is on the Studios side.

Oh... now I see. Okay.

So, if we get the RIP tour tickets or Express Pass... could see everything in one night?

The RIP tour will cover everything except the second live show.
You'd see all nine houses with immediate, no waiting at all, front of line access.
Plus, in the course of walking to all the houses you'll see the scare zones.
RIP also grants you priority seating to the Bill and Ted show.
The second show has been Rocky Horror, but is officially unknown so far this year. The second show isn't covered on the RIP Tour.

RIP is definitely the best way to go to maximize what you see in one night.

RIP tour is nice, but you can still do everything in one night with EP.......we have done it with EP alone.

so true schumigirl.

for years, i do the private 7.5 hours rip tour on a weekend night and we do multi visits to the houses.

for all my other nights at hhn, i use the express pass.
no matter what the crowd level has been in the park, the ep has been a gift to do everything at hhn.

some times, depending on the date, i have completed everything way before the park closes.
last year i hit all the houses, bill and teds and rhps and done at 10:00 pm.
i do start at the holding areas and get the jump on missing crowds that first 30 minutes.
don't use the ep while it is light outside, but return to those few houses done earlier with ep then.

Just made our reservations for Finnegan"s on Oct 1,2,3 and 4...hope we see you there:drinking1

vicki, i can't keep up with your schedule....:wave2:
thought you switched back to pop and doing mnsshp.

you doing split stays and parks with ending at the motherland?

our dates cross over each other still.

Only staying one night at pop ...Will be at Cabana Bay 9/29 - 10/6 doing HHN for 4 nightsparty:we can meet up any time and hang out in the parks when you want :flower1:

i'm at disney for the first portion of my trip then move to rpr for rest of the stay.

yep to you both....I've done all the houses and the two shows with EP in one night. I save a second night, with no express pass for rides and any houses I want to see again....I do those houses right off, before the lines get too super busy. This strategy seems to work nicely and then I can take my time going through the scare zones on night two. When I go next year, I'm planning on more than two nights....and will add Unmasking the Horror for sure! I will be looking at this thread to hear all about this year's event and will be looking forward to questions for next year's attendees! Have a blast!

i booked the UMH tour earlier this week.
i like to do that day tour before i do the hhn nights.
this year i will be hitting hhn before the day tour.

but i will still have 5 more nights of hhn after the umh.

i enjoy knowing the layout of the houses and details in advance.
so that is why i start day tours first usually.

thistleMae, you will be wowed with the day tour.
your guide will give the tour group so much background info that you would not be aware of
you will learn how they decided to put what things in the house and why.
and you will see how everything in the houses are related to the theme and icon.
you miss all the little details when you do the houses at night.

this is the one time you can see everything as the lights are on in the day tour houses
and you can take all the pictures you wish.

Dear Macraven....Thanks for the insiders tips....I'm sure I'm going to be wowed! But....here is a question for you. Why do the UMH first? Doesn't it spoil the effects, knowing what it looks like with lights on? I would think it would take away the surprise element for you. Just wondering?

Finnegan's is a must!! :cool1:

I got mine for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Oct.

Cheers! :drinking1

Marquibiri :thumbsup2

How are you getting your reservations so early? The link from the UO site goes to Nextable which only has dates through August. Are there more dates available if you call?

it doesn't take away the surprise element for me.
and once you do the houses at night, you won't be remembering all the boo holes once you are going thru them........lol
you probably will have an idea of the escape areas are for the scare actors, but the scares come out sometimes after you have passed them.
the SA has to go back to their holding place, get reset up before they are ready to jump out of their place to scare more victims.

the year Home for the Holidays house was done, the UMH tour really helped.
all the details were visible, even the minor details were amazing.
peeps would miss all of that doing the tour at night.

i take pics during the day tours and love it.
for me, it adds to the excitement and appreciation of the houses by seeing and hearing background info from the tour guide.

i try to hit 6 mights of hhn and include a private tour each year.
each time i do the houses at night, it can be a different experience
i try to time it and hit Team A and Team B on the house sets.
always get a new experience each time i go through a house.

loved doing the house tour one year when the CSW group was acknowledge!
couldn't have seen the details for that unless i did the UMH tour that year.
