Halloween at Fort Wilderness

I was wondering if they do anything for halloween night? Is there any trick or treating or do they have any special events?

There is "something special" for the kids at the Campfire Program and there is a "Haunted Hayride" you can go on for a fee that you can find across from Pioneer Hall. We did the hayride last year and had a great time!

Some of the campers set up for trick or treaters.

They set up close to the roads in front of their campers and give out candy to the kids. They usually have a light on so the kids can find them. Last year most of the kids were taken around by their parents on Golf carts. Even some of the Golf Carts were trimed out for Holloween.
Make sure you get tickets to the mnsshp. But don't go on Holloween night. (TOO CROWDED) go as far in advance as your trip allows. Have the kids Dress up for the mnsshp, even the adult-kids were in costume. 70-80% of the adults were dressed in costume.

This past halloween we all dressed up in our costumes that we had worn to MNSSHP earlier in the week. We rented a golf cart and kind of did a "reverse trick-or-treating". We drove around and handed out the bags that we had pre-made to any little kids we saw dressed up. We handed out over 50 before we called it a night and had an absolute blast doing it. My teen-age daughters had fun seeing all the little ones in their costumes and watching their reaction as Belle and Mulan handed them a goody bag while Woody and the Fairy Godmother sat up front in the golf cart. A great memory for us ..... I'd recommend it to anyone!
