Hakuna Matata - Scaring up Races and Spooking the competition!

Connie ~ Excellent idea! I haven't been to that one AND Donald is there. I figure since the Half medal is Donald that would be cool

Margie ~ Thanks for the welcome! It's ok...I'm over 30 too. 39 - though honestly I don't feel at ALL like what I used to think 39 would feel like.

At the moment, the only upcoming race I'm registered for is the WDW Half 1/8/11. There will likely be a 10K and a 4 mile run added on soon...but those aren't official yet. I'll keep you updated!

Birthday is July 20.

And sure! Feel free to post the weight loss! I'm proud of it! :)

~Beth

Welcome Beth!!!!

Hey everyone, quick drive by which is typical for me some days. Scale went up 1 pound....grrrr but considering it was Thanksgiving I will take it and work hard to get rid of it again.

Good morning guys.

Welcome Beth, be advised I'm the only normal person on here.:rolleyes1

Well if a day can truly be called the first day of the rest of your life then tomorrow is that day for me. Bring it on, Grrrrrrrrrr!!

I'm doing the walk through at 8:30 and the closing is at 9:30, we pick up the new Nissan Altima at 10:30 then spend the rest of the day arranging the utilities for the friday move in. Oh and get a big Uhaul arranged for friday.

I'm coming down with a cold and I really really don't need that right now.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning, Team!

Beth, I hope it works out for you. I have wanted to do Tusker House, too! You will have to take photos just for me! :lmao:

Kim, sliding up and down a few pounds is pretty typical of thyroid issues. It happens when we change our diets or do something OUT of the ordinary. If you haven't, you need to consider cutting out all the white stuff. Which is one of the reasons I am now grinding my own wheat and making my own bread. It's not really as time intensive as it sounds. You can do this!

Margie, are you feeling better today?

Lynn, I am so glad harvest is behind me. I hope you enjoy all your plums and plum butters.

Denise - IT was good to hear from you! We have been missing you.

I am off to OKC, today. I am joining my daughter for a pedie and a mani. I have become such a girl lately. Then I am going Halloween shopping for the church. We have a carnival and stuff for the kids. I need to pick up prizes! I need to register for the OKC Memorial Half Marathon. I may end up doing it alone.....

See ya, Connie

Where is everyone? :confused3

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Beth-WTG Congratulation on your fantastic weight loss! :cheer2:
I see Captain Connie has your Bio on the first page!
I added your race, weight lost, and birthday.

I wish I could come do OKC Marathon with you!
Thanks I do feel better.
I am eagerly waiting the bread.

Dave-Exciting busy times tomorrow. :goodvibes
Hope you feel better.
Here it was easy - the seller changed the utilities to our name at
closing. The only thing we had to do was call the telephone
company.
And you did not tell us you and Sally were all ready married!
You have not said is a while – how is Mary & little Aiden doing?
He has to be getting so big now. :littleangel:

Denise-your workouts are great!
How much weight have you lost? Can I add it to the Team
Page?

Kim-What Connie said :cutie:

Lynn- WTG getting your walks in!
Love it when the sales actually have things you need, want,
and in your size!
Sounds like your weather went from Hot to Nasty?

Mike-how did Chicago volunteering go?

Good Morning Team!

:cheer2:Welcome Beth!:cheer2:

Dave – good luck with the move, and PD for your cold!

Margie – glad to hear you are feeling better! Scott’s move has been put off until the first week of Nov. – building is not ready yet :sad2:.

Connie – the harvest is behind me, but I will spend the rest of the week putting up the plums! Have fun in the city!

Kim – if you gained only 1 pound after a Thanksgiving dinner, or any holiday dinner, you are doing great! Everyone needs to splurge occasionally!

AFM – yesterday was a good day – 3 miles with the dogs, 2 miles on the bike, then another 12 miles on the bike when Scott got home. Today it is raining and cool again. It is supposed to clear up later, so will wait until then for walk. This morning I will head in for flu shot – today is the day the State employees get theirs for free (and Scott is a State employee). Then to work on plum butter, did not get a full batch done yesterday – just made the pulp, so that needs to be cooked down, and hopefully I can get a second batch done today also - the plums are getting soft even though they have been in the fridge.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day all!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! I feel so loved!!

Kim ~ I definitely agree. If you only gained a pound over Thanksgiving, that's AMAZING!!!

Dave ~ Good luck with your move!!!

Connie ~ I'll definitely keep you posted on what I end up doing! We did the AK character breakfast when it was at Restaruantosaurus, but haven't done it since it moved to Tusker House (my dad was :sad1: about that since he loved going to CS at Tusker House when we were in AK). Maybe if my sister will be able to get us into AK over Christmas I can change our "brunch" to that and do Chef Mickeys on the 9th. I'm so up in the air with it. I'll check with her once she's back from vacay in the UK. ENJOY your mani-pedi! That's always my special splurge too.

I'm back at school today - the kidlets are in rare form having been off yesterday. Most autistic people are VERY routine oriented, and anything that disrupts that can be traumatic. This afternoon is my strength training. I'll likely do Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones. I've also got Bob Harper's Pure Burn Super Strength (and the others in his 4-dvd series), but honestly it feels a little much for a cross-training day. Jillian gives me a great workout usually without me crying or cussing at the computer (I put my dvds in there and work out in the living room of my apartment because there's no room in the bedroom where the tv and dvd player are.) HOPEFULLY I'll either have a package with my new running shirts crammed into my mailbox or a slip saying they're at the post office and I can pick them up tomorrow. I'm excited to get them!

Other than that, probably just chilling and relaxing. I was caught in the storm system no one really saw coming until it hit last night - I'd been in Manhattan and it was pouring, lightning and hailing when I got off the subway in Brooklyn. I hid out as long as I could in a bodega (corner store), then decided to brave the heavier rain because the lightning was not as bad when it was raining heavier and bolted the 2 blocks to my building. I looked like a drowned Remy when I got in, and I had to settle down from that before I could sleep. So I'm a bit tired today.

Hope everyone has a great day!! :hippie:

Hi, everyone,

I've been been missing for a week or so and it looks like I have some posts to read. I hope that everyone is doing well.

Welcome, Beth! As a fairly new team member, let me just say how nice and encouraging everyone is here. :thumbsup2

Elizabeth

I just typed a huge post with two race report and it disappeared! I am not happy!

I'll try again when we get home - Mike :cool2:

Ok office move moved back two weeks, good thing is my office is all packed up, oh well.

Thanks everyone....apparently it was some water retention....down 2.4
this week if I move my weight in day back 1 day:rolleyes1

Connie it was great cyber talking to you yesterday!!

Margie: Glad you are feeling better

Lynn: Plum butter...yummmm that sounds tastey

Dave: Today is the big day. Hope all goes well.

Mike: I hate when that happens, I rarely get enough time to type a big post and when I do I normally lose it.

Beth: I love NYC, almost as much as disney:thumbsup2

Not much going on here. Did Zumba last night again with DD. She really loves it, I think I am more of a line dancer kinda girl:lmao: Actually I really would prefer disco:scared1: yup I said it I love disco. The zumba actually I find a bit tough on the knees cause it is so fast trying to get all those steps in. I think I am getting old:headache:

SRD for me today. I'm learning to embrace them...even if I do feel restless. I know the rest does me good.

There is a group from my running club discussing going to a Salsa Dance at the LGBT Center on Sunday night...debating going for the social factor if nothing else. I've never been salsa dancing, and I don't own high heels (or a non-denim or crinkled velvet skirt), but they're all like "Don't worry about it! Come!!" So we'll see.

Thankfully it's Wednesday. Short weeks are nice. On the not-nice side my class is one of two from our site that didn't get picked to go to the NY Aquarium, so we're stuck inside on this gorgeous fall day. I would assume it's because one of my kids has a crisis management paraprofessional...but one of the classes that's going has a child with a CMP AND a child who's terrified of anything outside of his normal routine, so... IDK. Oh well...I can get my assessments done I guess.

Have a good day everyone!!

~beth

Beth- Yikes - you had quite a day yesterday!
Sorry you did not get to go to the Aquarium!
Enjoy-Salsa Dance at the LGBT Center on Sunday night :goodvibes

Have not done any of Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones or
Bob Harper's Pure Burn Super Strength … well, to tell the truth
I never heard of him.

Did your new running shirts arrive?

Connie-how are the pretty toes?

Dave-and Sally, Congratulations!
Have a wonderful day.

Denise-how is your design project coming?
It has been a long time since you shared any of your beautiful
quilts with us. We would love to see more!

Kim-Gulp - Zumba last night again

Lynn- Lady you are amazing – WTG
3 miles with the dogs, 2 miles on the bike, then another 12 miles on the bike with Scott!
Got my flu short a couple of weeks ago.
I am curious – now I will have to check out if you can actually
purchase Plum Butter to find out what it taste like.

Mike-that has happened to me a couple of times-
I try to do mine in Word first, copy, & paste.

Scott-Oh My Gosh-efficient, long work days, and now WAIT!
Do you have to unpack to be functional? :headache:

Sue-Okay are you on vacation ALL week? :rolleyes1

Vicky-Birthday Girl it is time to get back on track! :cutie:

AFM:checking today to see if I can get a field trip to the fire station
for the little guys. Hopefully everyone is feeling better so today will be a bit
easier. Brady and I had a LONG battle of wills (in front of his Mommy)
It is impressive what these little ones will try. He folded his arms
and told me his patience was about gone- I told him mine was not and he
was going to do what he was told or we would be there all night...
his Mom could sleep on the sofa!

Special Thoughts and Prayers for the Rescue Mission of the Miners in Chile

The latest report I could find said 11-Miners have come up.

The operation commenced just before midnight-
A navy paramedic went down after Avalos came up.

The last miner was slated to be shift foreman Luis Urzua,
whose leadership was credited for helping the men endure
the first two and a half weeks without outside contact.

Hi everyone! Sorry to be MIA lately - busy busy as usual. I was out of town on the weekend and did a ton of shopping. :thumbsup2 I also ran for the first time in about a week (again) and it was s-l-o-w. So I'm not so sure about getting a PB on Saturday but we'll see. I think I might try and get a treatment done on my knee on Thursday instead of training. It seems to be better but not 100%.

Beth - Welcome!

Kim - Congrats on the loss! Have you seen the exchange rates this morning? I hope we reach par with the US$ soon!!

Lynn - WTG on the miles! Good luck with the flu shot! Needles make me nervous :)

Connie - I love getting manis and pedis! Did you have fun with DD?

Dave - Congrats on the new car!!

Scott - How goes the office move? I think I missed your post on that. I just found out my group is moving to another floor in December. So I'll be getting packed up in a couple of months too.

Eva/Regina/Mike - :wave2:

Gotta run but will catch up later! :flower3:

Good Morning Team!

Beth – hope you get your running skirts today – they are so much fun! Have fun with the salsa dancing!

Eilzabeth – good to “see” you again!

Mike – I have started doing all my posts in Word, then copying it to the boards, then when the boards lose my post, I can just recopy it and since I have started that, I have not lost any posts!

Kim – congrats on the weight loss! I gave up looking at zumba when I read that it was very high impact and not good on the knees – so I still do not really know what it is.

Vicky – you will just be well rested for your race!

Dave – Hope everything is going well with you – good luck with the move!

Margie – Have fun at the fire station! Just hearing that miner #10 just came up.

Connie – :wave2:

AFM – Never made it out to exercise yesterday – it did turn nice, but I was already involved with the plum butter! The excited part (for me) is that I have only 1 more bag of plums – that means only 1 more batch and I will be done with plums today!!! :cheer2: It is quite cool (32 degrees) this morning, but nice, so I will get my winter walking gear on and take dogs out this morning!

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day all!

YES! My shirts came yesterday! :) I got them from OneMoreMile.net. I'd ordered 3, but they were out of XL short sleeve berry, so I had to cxl one of them (I didn't want white or black) and change the other one to "cadet". They're really nice. I'm probably right on the edge at the moment of fitting into a L, but I'd rather it be a little too big than slightly too tight. (I still can't fit into the S - which is all Disney seems to have in the Training for the 2010 Half in the women's. And they don't even have L in the men's. GAH!) Maybe next order from OneMoreMile I can get Ls.

Actually given the way one of my kids is acting today, I'm kinda glad we didn't go on the trip...he's being a total handful.

Per my CNN Breaking News tweet, the 15th miner is in process now. This is like Baby Jessica writ large.

Margie ~ Bob Harper is Bob from The Biggest Loser. :)

Hello team!

Congrats to everyone who had a race in the past couple weeks! The Wine and Dine sounds like an interesting race.

Margie - I'm going to be in Ann Arbor for my friend's wedding. Glad to see you are feeling better.

Dave - Congrats on making it to Nationals. Also, a belated happy birthday!

Beth - Welcome! I just joined the team earlier this year and everyone is very nice and welcoming.

Lynn - Making plum butter sounds like quite a process. 32 degrees sounds pretty cold to me, weather in LA has been all over the place in the last few weeks. WTG on your miles.

Connie - Hope you had fun in OKC!

Vicky - I'm still pondering the Princess half. The cost is a factor, as well as putting in the training effort. We also already have vacation plans to WDW in December. Although, signing up for a race will probably motivate me to get out and run. A belated happy birthday to you! Sounds like you had a great day!

AFM - Keeping busy lately. I haven't done any workouts, finding it hard to motivate myself. I got some work done on our Halloween costumes, but I need to finish them in the next week.

Pixie dust to the those who need it!

Have a good night!
Emily

Hey Team!

Emily- When’s the Halloween party at DL?

Kim- I am sorry to hear about your family friends’ loss.

Mike- That’s terrible news about your cousin’s son. Great race report! How’s your knee?

Eva- Great race report and congrats on your PR! That’s awesome you reached your goal!

Beth- WELCOME!!!! I’d love to hear how the salsa dancing goes if you make it on Sunday. I’ve always wanted to learn salsa.

Margie- I’m glad you’re feeling better! Were you able to get a tour of the fire station? How is Sara?

Vicky- Shopping is always nice!

AFM, it feels weird to be back. We arrived home on Sunday morning. We were supposed to be home on Saturday night, but they cancelled the 2nd leg of our flight from Chicago to Boise because they delayed our Orlando flight to Chicago which they said would cause us to miss the Chicago flight. What a mess….so they re-routed us through Denver but could not get us back on Saturday night so we settled for Sunday.

I guess I forgot to mention that I quit my job the day we left for vacation. I can’t tell you all how great it felt. I have another job I will be starting in about 1.5 weeks and have 1 more week (next week) left in my current job. It will be less money, which will take some adjusting, but I think it will be less stressful, more supportive management, and a consistent schedule. This should help me get into a regular schedule which will enable me to be more consistent with my running and working out. YAY!

We absolutely loved our trip to WDW! Every single day was an awesome and magical day!!! Our flights down were on time and we even arrived early! This was at 11pm at night so we went to get our bags and rented our car, then headed off to the ASMovies. Of course, not many people were checking in at 1am, so that went quickly as well.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal was fun and I LOVED LOVED MNSSHP!!!! It was great! We had a great time at breakfast with Mike, and enjoyed meeting both Mike and Eva.

As for the race, we met several other WISH’ers and the support along the race from WISH was great. Everyone seems so wonderful and encouraging. It was great! Like Mike, I thought there would have been more entertainment along the course, but we got some good pictures with some characters, so I guess that was cool. LOL, it’s not like my running was going well, so I figured it was totally worth it to take the time to stop and take pictures with the characters. I liked the idea of the night time race. I don’t really remember the mile by mile stuff, but it was not my best run. My stomach started cramping around mile 6 and it just went downhill from there. I finished, so I guess that’s the important thing. If they do it next year, I would really like to do it again. I did not get to enjoy the after party. By the time we finished the lines for bags were a mile long. I was so tired and I did not have the energy to stand in line like a sardine packed between everyone else. By the time I made it out all I wanted to do was go home and sleep. I also injured my knee somehow- must have been landing on it wrong or something, because it took a couple days for me to walk it loose again. That was a first for me as well. All in all, I’m glad I did it and am confident with more consistent training in the last month of my training plan that the next race will go much better for me.

On a different note, how do I delete my ticker now that my vacation has passed??

Good morning Everyone!

Regina - Sorry to hear about the tummy upsets and knee problems at Wine and Dine. I think night races are really hard! I had tummy upset for the first and only time in a night time race.

Emily - It was a fast and furious trip to OKC. It is actually about 150 miles from my house so it easily becomes an all day thing. And most of that is driving. But the mani is beautiful (I skipped the Pedi) and we managed to do it the day before the earthquake! -- I hope the costumes are coming along nicely!

Beth - I love "One more Mile"! I have a shirt that says, "Next rest stop, 13.1 miles" and "Does this shirt make my butt look fast"! :rotfl: I am thinking I need another one! LOL -- Be sure to ENJOY the dancing.

Margie - You sure are a busy lady, especially now that you are doing all the projects with the boys! Talk to ya later! -- I am still waiting on my spiral mixer. WHen I finally get it, bread will be shipped.

Vicky - Did I wish you a Happy Birthday? I guess I just did. I think birthdays should be at least two weeks long! -- Good luck on Saturday. I hope the knee is great.

Lynn - Yea for the plums. Would like some wine recipes? :rotfl: - It's starting to get pretty cool here, too. Had to turn the furnace on this morning. We had frost!

Dave - How's the move going??

Okay, things to do. Gotta make a Bride Costume for Halloween, orders some more grain, and vaccuum and clean. Company is gone...temporarily. But there will be more on Saturday, speicifically the most of the grands! -- Oh! And I signed up for the OKC Memorial Half Marathon, yesterday! Guess I better get my butt in gear!

See ya - Connie
