We are up and will be getting out for a bike ride this morning/afternoon as it is kinda cool, and the sun is just on the horizon.

Wonderful news for you and Sally!

To everyone else, enjoy the weekend. Wishing you all fast race times and injury-free runs. I'm running later this morning in preparation for my first 10k (in 2 weeks) My running group is a varied one: a triathlon finisher, one experienced marathoner, me, and a woman who hasn't begun her training yet. I doubt I'll see much of any of them on race day but it is fun to get together and train.

Oh, and Happy Halloween to all of you trick or treaters. I'm preparing two costumes today: a sparkly pirate and an Athena. The pirate costume just needs some glitter and we are painting Athena's shield and sword later today. Whew!

where they are not on their guard. It is in the simplest habits,
that we often see the boundless egotism, which pays no regard
to the feelings of others and denies nothing to itself.

Margie, we aren't building a room per say but remember that I was completely wiped out by my ex and having to start from scratch. We have furniture for one bedroom and basic living room but we have lots more we have to buy, for example our dinning room table is a card table with folding chairs. We want to paint the entire house before buying the furniture for the upstairs bedrooms and then we need to get the patio furniture grill ect..... So we are figuring by next fall we can host guests. Once Sally returns to work, and she is submitting resumes now, then we will have more funds to work on the house. I'll be done with the Paducah gig in two weeks which will give me more time but less money for home projects.

Sally has had a sore back since she spent a week in cleaning in the house just after we bought it. We are getting in some walking together but more massage and hot tub thearpy right now. As soon as she is better we will begin her half training more regularly.

Have a super weekend dear friends.

Dave:hippie:

Dave-

Real Friends will come to see you & Sally :flower3:

It is not what you have - it's who you are that they care about.
They will not care if they need to bring their own air
mattress and or sleeping bag...or eat lunch at a card table!
Those things are just not important...

Hope Sally is able to get a position/work where she can get off for WDW Marathon Weekend!

Hey Team!

Congrats Dave! Good luck, Sally!

Happy belated birthday SCOTT!

Dave, I agree with Margie....a six pack or a bottle of wine is enough for most friends!

Happy Halloween! :maleficen

Vicky- I'm not sure when the WISH meet is....I hope to show up for it but it all depends on when, and where! I'm sorry you are restricted on running but we all know that it is for the best!! Better healthy than injured! I hope some Yoga was fun!

Lynn- I have always wanted a malamute, however have heard about the potential socialization issues, they are in our top choices! I hope the party was a success!

Dave- Congrats:wizard::wizard: to you and Sally!!! 11/3/10!!! How amazing!:cheer2::cheer2:

Connie- So glad you got your computer back! Yeah!

Scott- I hope you had a great bike ride!

es45- Your costumes sound wonderful!! I only wish I was creative for this year but have been too busy with school! I could go as a burned out student....humm...

Margie- Had a great time this morning! Really got my brain ready for study group! Did you find a good book to listen too while you clean today?

AFM- Had a wonderful windy walk this morning with Margie! Stats below
WOD: called for 40 minutes.
Actual workout was TIME: 46 DISTANCE: 2.88 AVERAGE PACE 15.31 CALORIES BURNED: 381!

I found some great winter gear at Sierra Trading Post (http://www.sierratradingpost.com). They had some gear from SkirtSports.com (SS) on sale!! The great thing is they had my size as well. SS only comes to XL and I need a 2XL for pants and like to wear 2X or 3X or tops! They have TONS of stuff (running gear and other things) for great discount prices!

Oh I wanted to add in my weight loss since the beginning of the year 10 pounds have been thrown away!

I have another test this week over the knee and ankle in my PTA class! I'm off to study!!! Keep up the great work everyone!

Dave ~ Congrats!!!

Glad everyone seems to be doing generally well! Hope bike rides and runs went well today!

AFM, I went to running club early to tell my story for our "It Gets Better" video. As soon as I know where it's posted, I'll send a link. I'll likely be in it in three places ~ my individual bit, a quartet with other women in the club where we all said "It gets better!" and various other ad libs into the camera, and then the group shot where we all gathered in a huge group and shouted "It gets better!" I hope all these videos do reach the kids (and others) who so need to hear them! We're losing far too many young people to cruelty, hatred and downright ignorance. :sad1:

Ok...sermonette over! My run was really good! Today was 5 miles at a 3:2 interval. A couple of fellow Front Runners passed me and made a point to say I'm looking really good, so that made me smile. I weighed my options with ways to go, and ended up going the direction where I started sorta up hill and went counterclockwise. That meant I had to face another hill nemesis - Cat Hill. (So named because of the cat statue on the side of the path about halfway up.) And I did it! I kept running for the interval where I started up it and then started running when I was supposed to while climbing the last bit. Now, I have to admit, I did need to drop to a walk on the other side of the park when I had a running interval on a slow gradual climb. I tried to push, but I felt like if I'd pushed any harder I would have collapsed or done serious muscle damage, so I went with my gut. Overall I finished in an hour and 15 minutes counting warm-up and cool-down.

I got home and felt pretty drained...but I pushed through and did my 60 minute yoga workout. I'm glad I did...but I'm definitely going to bed early.

Very happy for a scheduled rest day tomorrow!! It shall be church and then holing up with dvds or the dvr.

Happy halloweekend everyone!

~beth

Oh, oh, oh! I forgot!! I got a long-sleeved club shirt today (I've got a singlet, but I had to keep my jacket on the whole run today - I needed to wear "club gear" for the video.) and it's...A MEDIUM!!!!! I actually could have gone with a small, but the medium is a little loose, and I prefer that to skin-tight. It's unisex, but still... I cannot remember the last time i fit into a medium ANYTHING!!!
