Happy 4th!
Received this from Erica - it's neat and worth sharing :goodvibes

http://home.comcast.net/~nw-fla/tribute_flag_B_thompson.htm

Margie the flag that flew over our nations capital on the day I retired from the military is in a triangle shaped wooden case, on my mantle, along with a letter from my congressman. I value our flag and what it stands for. Our flag is not just a piece of cloth like the bible is not just a book.

Thanks for sharing.

Everyone happy 4th of July and of course Happy Birthday America!!!!!

"Martin, it's all psychological. You yell barracuda, everybody says, "Huh? What?" You yell shark, we've got a panic on our hands on the Fourth of July" (JAWS the original);)

Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!!

Panda~ Well said. Bless our Troops and their families.

Jack

:hippie: I know it is very Impressive-

I was presented with a letter and the flag that flew over the US Senate the day my husband died by our Michigan US Senator. - I had a hard time beleiving it! I do not have it in a display case.

Mine was presented in the case. I recieved it at my retirement ceremony. My last official day in Air Force Blue.

Are you gearing up for your Goofy training?

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

I'm watching the television fireworks this evening....getting ready for an early bedtime and a 9 mile run in the morning. Luckily, our local fireworks were last night, so I've already seen them.

Good morning y'all.

I'm up in the wee hours to get a good training walk in before my keeper gets off work. It rained here all night so nice and cool out this morning.

Everyone have a super Sunday and remember we need to cherish our freedom everyday and not just on patriot days.

I heard on the news that the Sony Walkman came out 30 years ago today. It was the forerunner of the potable music boom, of course you had to put cassette tapes in it.

Training Panda:hippie:

Foggy Morn here, Tour is on, with the basement bedroom cleaned out it will be bed shopping and I believe I will be making the bed frame and headboard.

Took pups for a walk.

Hope to get out for a Kayak, and pack up for next week.

Good Morning Team!

Hope everyone had a great 4th! We watched fireworks on TV - 4th at the Capitol, then watched private fireworks displays from our back yard - you could see fireworks in all directions from our house! It rained all evening, just stopping a bit for fireworks.

Have a great day all!

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Cannot get on the Team Thread much during the week, so I will do my best to catch up for it on the weekends :goodvibes

We did not go see the fireworks- We are such an exciting group Too Old - Too Young - Too Sick - Too tired, but I did hear all the noise. :upsidedow

Scott & Lynn - you guys really do some interesting cross training! :thumbsup2

:hippie: Gearing Up - Not sure I know what you mean? Right now just trying to maintain the conditioning/ training to be able to do a Half anytime. This week I MUST start the back to back walks on the weekends. I am actually cutting back on the longer walks. My normal routes is 3.3 miles- I rarely do less than that; then on Saturday a 2 miler - Sunday a 4 miler. Doubling the miles I do on Saturday on Sunday. I have a 10 miler in August and two Half's in October - then I will up the miles for the Goofy.

Waiting for dinner to settle a bit then ride my bike to the gym-

Have a Great Week!

Well, I did it....sore knees, tight hips and all. I did my 9 miles this morning!!! Longest distance yet!

I have already iced my knees once - I'll probably do it one more time before bed tonight. I'm hoping that was a one time issue - I was feeling kind of swollen this morning when I woke up - so I'm hoping that caused a lot of the knee soreness. I'm traveling next weekend, so I'm scaling back to a coulple of 6 mile runs, in preparation for a 15K the following weekend.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday! :)

Hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th!

I'm back on track (pardon the pun) and got in 7 miles in 60 minutes for a long run today.

Best,
Jennifer

Hey team!!! Quick drive by this morning.

Hope everyone is doing great!!!!!

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had lots of sunshine and warm weather - great for the patio and BBQs! Training starts this week for my 1/2 at the end of September. The temporary dump by my house closed on Friday but a new site opened at the park where we did our 1/2 in May :( I hope this garbage strike gets resolved quickly. I'm planning to go the gym tonight to train but not much else going on...

Jennifer - Hope you feel better soon! Colds in the summer just don't seem fair!

Teresa - WTG on your 9 mile run! My knees usually feel sore after LRs too. I hope the ice helps :)

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Good Morning Team!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! We had afternoon and evening thundershowers each day, so not too good for outdoor barbeques, but we did get our hotdogs in.

The dogs and I did a 3 mile walk this morning, still way too slow, and will do some weight training this afternoon. Tomorrow I am going to try for 6 again.

Have a great day all!

Hi Team!

Sorry to be MIA ever since starting this thread! What a dead beat I must look. Things are hopping and popping in my world. Too much to go into, but a brief synopsis goes like this... Divorce, estate probate, moving, planning, forensic computer search, meetings with lawyers, miles and miles of road traveled, and other fun things!

We did go to a "rural Oklahoma town" and celebrated the fourth with some friends. They had purchased tickets to see Marty Stuart, Sawyer Brown and the 43rd President of the United States speak. It was really great. The fireworks were just as awesome as the program. I highly recommend binoculars at all such events!

I will try to get the team total updated soon. Today...tonight...sometime!

See ya! Connie

Connie - It sounds like you're living a CSI/Dallas episode! Speaking of hours, I still owe you a PM :cutie:

Ooops! Sorry Dear Panda!

Not my divorce, my son's divorce! He graduated in May and was employed by the VA as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, he is getting a divorce. I have had to help him with moving and a loan so that he could get his license, give him furniture, etc. It's been really hard on him and just one more thing for us!

We are also working with our young nephew (20) trying to get his late father's stuff in order. Turns out, if you live a messy life, you leave a messy life. The worst part is someone else has to clean it all up!

Seems like I have been dealing with a lot of problems and none of them are mine, except that they are! :confused3

My ankle is out of a brace this week for the first time. I have been walking about a bit. It is time I get myself in shape! I have things to do!!!!

Everyone do well!
See ya!

You're a good Mom! :thumbsup2

"..if you live a messy life, you leave a messy life." Amen

pixiedust: for your ankle

Connie you scared me there. If you became single you would never have time for us with all the fellows coming to your door to ask you out.

I had a relaxed 5 mile walk this morning, 1:03:11, ave pace 12:32. It was comfortable except for being really hot and humid.

Have an awesome day y'all.
