Hakuna Matata; Independent, proud, and flashy!

Hi team! Not much of import to report! Worked out last night so I have that slight muscle fatigue feeling - did some deadlifting and the usual weight exercises. It's nice (and unseasonally) cool today so I'm hoping to get out for a 3 miler after work.

Connie - Everyone needs a friend like you! I also agree with your thoughts about living and leaving a messy life. I don't think most people think about the leaving part though.

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Hi Team!

Doing the fly-by. Haven't had time to catch up. Had a great vacation. Really busy at work.

Hope everyone's training is going well......Sue

Hi Team!

Haven't been around much, and I'll admit, I haven't kept very good track of my workout times in the last month. Then, last week after my water aerobics class, I forgot and left my patellar straps at the pool. Realized what I had done as I was going to bed that night. Went back and checked the lost and found, but didn't see them, so no running until I could get some new ones.

Went by the running store today and bought new shoes and new straps, so I am good to go! As a bonus, I got to hold the store owner's new baby daughter. Surprised she doesn't have a pair of running shoes of her own yet!

I'll try to keep better track of my times and mileage this month.
Connie...Sorry to hear about your son, but glad that it's not you and your DH!

Good Evening Team!

I have spent the last 2 days looking at furniture - we are taking our current bedroom furniture and moving it to the guest room in the basement, and buying new for our bedroom. After 2 days of looking at beds (mattresses) and headboards and frames, I have decided on what to get, and just went back to the store to put my order in tonight. Now I can get on with my life! I did get in 6 miles this morning, the first 2 miles is really difficult, but it is not too bad after that.

Have a great evening all!

Connie, I know a bit about Computer Forensic if need some help there.

Got in a 5K this morn along the Potomac. Nice...

And that's what's so great about a team! Each of you!

Thanks so much for the kind words and offers of assisstance. We are getting through all this the same way you get through a marathon, one step at a time!

Both of the boys have challenges. One has lost his father and his stepfather, both of which he loved tremendously within 14 months of each other. The other has acknowledged a failed marriage and cheating wife, that he worked his tail off to keep.

Anyway...going to see what a slow easy 3-4 miles feels like today! I need the rest! :rotfl:

Jennifer- How's the cold?

Theresa - The knees? Are they better?

Thanks Jack!

See ya! Connie

Good Morning Team!

Beautiful day here in Cheyenne! Not even supposed to rain today!

Neither the dogs nor I was into walking this morning, and when they tried to drag me right (short loop) instead of left (longer walk), I gave in and let them drag me that way! So I only got in 1.36 miles this morning, but I will get in my weight routine this afternoon. Now I have to catch up on my house work as I have spent 2 days out shopping!

Connie - pixiedust: for you and all that you are going thru!

Hi to everyone else, have a great day!

Hi team! My back and leg muscles were more fatigued than I thought. I had to do a r/w to finish the 3 miles last night. The up and down motion didn't feel great on the lower back either. But I'm glad I got out there and got them done. I think if I'm going to work out on Monday nights, I'll keep Tuesdays as as easy run.

Sue - Welcome back! I thought about you yesterday and was wondering if you were back. I was at Lululemon at the Eaton Center and they've got some running skirts on sale (among other things). Cute but none in my size. I'll have to check another location on the weekend.

Have a great day everyone!

Connie, I'm feeling better. Still kind of icky but I think it's allergies plus getting over the cold.

My running's still a bit behind. I did 3 miles in 23 minutes on Monday and 30 minutes of cross training today. I should be fully back on track for a 40-45 minute tempo run tomorrow.

Best,
Jennifer

Hey everyone just a another quick stop by to say hi and give Connie a hug:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:ok, maybe a few hugs.

Good Morning Team!

Always have a hard time posting from work. They must want us working not surfing.

We haven't had really warm temps. lately but last night's run was very humid.

Vicky, I'll check out Lulu tomorrow. Have plans tonight & need to go to the gym at lunch.

Connie, How was your walk?

Scott, I was in DC last week. Had to run near the hotel but would have loved to have run along the GWashington Parkway paths. Drove along there on our way to Mount Vernon. Reminded me of Ottawa were I used to live.

Have a great day. Work to do.....Sue

Good Morning Team!

I decided to take the day off today, knee has been bothering me, and the weight workout yesterday did not help as much as it usually does. It is cool and cloudy here today, looks like it might rain any minute, although rain is not in the forecast.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Team! Hope everyone is well! Got out for my 3 miler tonight. It was sunny but not too hot. I felt like I was going fast and thought I would finish in 30 minutes but it didn't happen. I still managed a pace of 10:24 m/m so I'm happy with that. Tomorrow is a rest day for me but I might run since Saturday is forecasted to rain.

Sue - Lulu is also having some kind of warehouse sale in a couple of weeks out in Hamilton. I've never been to one before but I think it's a little too far to drive.

Morning Kids, will be off to the airport shortly, then home. Yeah!!!! Last night after dinner we were walking back to the hotel when I hear pipes. Two Police pipe bands and the Alexandria Pipe Band, were playing. KEWL!!! met some nice folks at teh pub afterwards. A good evening. I felt I should have had my kilt on.

Good Morning everyone! Nice weather here a little fall-ish but nice sleeping weather. Got in 3 miles last night slow pace but enjoyable. A friend of ours rented a house for the week so were heading over to Watch Hill for some wine and snacks this evening. A nice leisurely evening planned. Then it's back to cut the grass and do the dump run on Saturday. Enjoy the weekend!
Scott~ I am so
green about your week. Safe Travels home.

Jack

Good Morning Team!

It was a big mistake not to walk yesterday, I was in pain all day! Forced myself out this morning, knee still hurts, but I think I am better for the exercise! (Orthopod appt on Monday cannot come too soon!)

Have a great day team!

Made it to the gym yesterday. Rest today. The weather will determine tomorrow & a long run Sunday.

Lynn, Hope your appt. goes well on Mon.

Vicky, Went to Lulu at lunch. Crazy busy & didn't take time to look around. Did you get the code to work. I didn't have any luck.

Have a great weekend everyone.....Sue

Finally home, got back yesterday and went into the office to get some admin stuff done. I had messed up some travel for next month so get that together. Got home pups were happy to see me and had a hot dog for dinner. Watched the tour DVR, nice to skip commercials .

Up early to watch the tour, not sure what the day will bring.

Morning team! It's raining pretty hard this morning. Lots of thunder and lightning! I'm waiting to see if there will be a small break so I can go out and get in 3 miles. DF says there's no rain in his area and he's just over 4 miles from where I am. Maybe I should just run to his house :)

Sue - Yup, the code worked for me. I bought two tickets YYZ to Orlando for $689. I read that the code was used up. There were only so many tickets that could be bought using it. I think that's the problem once something is posted on a discussion board. :( Of course, even though I was able to buy a ticket, there's always the possibility that A/C can cancel the ticket. So I'll have to see what happens. Since we're six months away, I'll take a chance. I might not have if we were in October.

Lynn - pixiedust: for your knee! I hope things go well at your Monday appointment.

Jack - I'm liking the cool weather too! It's nice to open the windows to get in some fresh air and not use the a/c all the time.

Kim/Dave/Erica - There are some pictures from the Toronto Women's 1/2 that the race organizers put up (not the ASI ones). Lots of the beefy :firefight There's one of me but it figures that I'm walking and drinking water during the race  http://www.towomenshalf.com/photos/index.html

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:
