Hakuna Matata: Dash away, dash away, dash away All!

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Jack- 2010 Marathon Weekend is for FUN so plan to Enjoy it! I do not go for time - just want to stay ahead of the sweepers. And you will be WAY a head of them. You want to first cross the Finish Line – healthy, happy, uninjured, having fun, and collect your Bling. I did the Donald last year. And seriously it was the Funnest-Slowest Half Marathon I ever did. ::yes::::yes::

Sue- Congrats on your long run! I still have a 20-milers to go on December 20th. I do know when it is cold & windy I must wear wind resistant clothes. I sweat a lot, so I was soaked and the cold wind hitting me was truly awful. The stopping waiting for traffic a couple of times and talking to another walker was painful. :sad1:

Dave- Hummm sound like you had a great workout, found some great buys, and your new home is all in order! :goodvibes I do like the Christmas sales and looking at all the new gagets that come out this time of year. :upsidedow

Vicky- WTG :cheer2:

Denise- Congratulations!
My ds Nick proposed to his gf Hope on the first night we were there. He did it during a lull of music and flashing lights at MGM at the Osborne lights.

Jennifer Great race! Ya done us proud. Tough time to train when the temps fall and so does the snow. So excited for all of you going to the marathon but not sorry I decided not to participate. It was mostly for financial issues but now looking back on the year I've had it really was for the best.

Hi everyone! Happy Monday :)

Denise - Congrats to Nick and Hope! Sounds like it was an awesome surprise for her!

Kim - Sounds like a good plan! I agree with you about the undertrained vs. injured.

Dave - Great deal on the sales! If you win the lottery, can you take us all to Disney :)

Margie - I'm thinking good thoughts for your upcoming 20 miler! Here's hoping the weather will cooperate for you :thumbsup2 pixiedust:

Sue - Did you take a break or hit the gym? Notice the snow? I told my PT as soon as my knee was fixed, it would snow  WTG on the 20 miler! Yesterday was incredibly windy!

Jack - I haven't done a marathon (yet) so I don't have any words of advice but I did want to send some good thoughts your way :cutie:

AFM - Did my usual Monday night training session at the gym. Did some deadlifting - about 135 lbs but only from the rack and not the ground. I also attempted some chin ups. I think I got about 3-4 done with an elastic band no less and my PT pushing me up and still felt whipped at the end.

Did everyone print/download their marathon/half/Goofy waivers? The link is up: http://www.trackshack.com/disneysports/waiver10/verify.php

Have a great night everyone! :wave2:

Vicky if I did play the lottey and won I would in a heartbeat. I'd even buy us all new cars to make the trip, stang conv all around.:)

The comforter made a huge difference last night, the extra weight of the covers was well, comforting.

I'm in early today so it's a rest day.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning, Team!

Good job Jennifer!

Jack- Enjoy Disney. There isn't another one quite like it! I know I will! Everybody has to have a first marathon, I can't think of a better one. Good friends, Good times, Good run!

Dave - Glad to hear you are comforted by your comforter! Nothing quite like them! Soon you will feel settled in.

Vicki - The only reason you haven't done a marathon is because you haven't done one! LOL You have it in you! I downloaded my waiver and now I am my own real age. :guilty:

Kim - Hope you guys are doing better! We will limp along just fine. Have you made your reservation for a massage yet? In your packet from Disney, there is a 15% off coupon! Margie and I have massages scheduled for the morning of the 11th!

Margie - How's it shaking? Did you find some water shoes?

Denise - I will miss meeting you at WDW, but I understand when things are for the best. I very nearly signed up for the Goofy last year. It was such a relief in September when I needed the surgery, that I hadn't!

Scott and Lynn - Sorry you are having difficult training weather. That blows...the snow! :rotfl:

I missed my 18 miles. My DH, Jon, managed to bring a cold home and give it to me. I can barely walk across the living room and still breathe, so 18 miles was pretty unattainable. I am going to get that 20 miler in even if I have to go to Amarillo spend some of the night at my son's and get up at 3 am to walk the Mall!

See y'all soon!

Connie I can't wait for Margie and Connie hugs. I hope you guys have been saving up because I need them bigh time.

Scott and Lynn are snow bears they thrive on the white stuff.

This will be an interesting trip for sure.

Dave:hippie:

First post race run.

I did 3.5 miles at a 9:30 pace (which makes feel slow). I felt good and could have definitely gone longer and probably a little faster.

Best,
Jennifer

Today is one week since I moved out into an apartment and each day gets better. I went to the old place for another load of stuff and it will si in the car till at least tomorrow since it's pouring rain.

Today was a rest day.

Have an awesome enening y'all.

Dave:hippie:

Jennifer you slow is muy rapido to me LOL,

-4 right now and the high was 1 degree, I was a slug today. Lack of sleep from last night, things at work have not slowed down , I was hoping for a quiet Christmas season oh well. I have three days to use or loose before the end of the year, so will kick back the week between Christmas and New Year.

Why do Federal Grant people always call you at the last minuite wanting something....

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Dave- :hug::grouphug::hug:

Scott- :sad2:

Jennifer- It's a very good feeling to just enjoy a run/walk. :goodvibes

Yuck! We are getting the storm-it is a mess out there. :crazy2:
At 6:PM when I picked my DD up from work the roads were clear & dry-
We went to the Dollar Store & Sears - when we came out of Sears the wind was blowing hard, we had about 3" of new heavy wet snow, and very icy roads. I did get to 35mph for a brief stretch, but mostly 25-30mph. I could not get up the hill by DD's house, so I had to back down and take another route...it was so slippery. Took me much-much longer to get home. And now it has turned to sleet. :rolleyes1

Later...

Connie, what packet??? I have only received my bib's# UUUGHGGGHHH what have I missed. I am so outta the loop:lmao:

Kimmer your not as out of the loop as I am. I'm not sure what I'm doing or where I'm going right now. I even have to make my own way to Disney without my navagator.

I'm still in kind of a fog but it's getting better each day. I will be glad to see y'all, I need to be with friends for a while, a long while.

Have a magical day y'all.

Dave:hippie:

Yaaaaaaa, wouldn't want you to get lost.

Are you still coming in on the same days?????

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

It's Winter...wind is howling, it's nasty out there, but it is 39 degrees and not snowing at the moment! All the schools are closed around us, but not ours. :scared1:

Kim-I will answer for Connie as she is with her DD taking her DGD to a doctor's appointment today. Hope they gets some answers and are able to get the surgery scheduled today. Little DGD is having a lot of pain and needs to get this taken care of. ::yes::

:smickey: 'Packet' she was referring to is the one that cames with the Hotel Reservation/Park Passes-Water Park Option/Dining Plan, etc-it has a coupon booklet with the luggage tags, Disney Express, etc.

Dave-

Dave good Score on the GPS, I saw the adds on TV.

Margie, We can relate -10 this morn on the drive in and now it is a toasty -4, winds are expected to reach 50 MPH today, so let her buck!!!

I know this weather has me not hitting the TM as much as I should, this too shall pass.

Good Morning~ lousy weather for many of us eh?

Margie~ Thoughts and prayers for good news.

Still getting my miles in !!! :thumbsup2

Good Afternoon Team!

Blech day today. Lots of snow over night with snow/rain today. Will be hitting the gym tonight for spin. Hoping the road dry up for tomorrow night.

Vicky, Took Mon. night off. Not by choice. Was planning yoga but didn't make it.

Sue

Scott, I had to laugh, because down here in the South we're complaining that its in the low 40s.

I did 5.5 miles in just over 50 minutes (9:15 pace). I'm on a post marathon running high and have a renewed love of our sport.

Best,
Jennifer
