Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Wow!! The details in the room are just incredible! And so much space!! I think that murphy bed is pretty cool too!!!

I didn't realize it was interior hallways...I was picturing it organized like Pop.

The big blue pool looks pretty awesome and did I hear somewhere that you can hear Nemo and friends when you're underwater?? Bet the girls had a blast!!!

Love, love, love the pics of the LK suite!!! It is on my short list for the next trip. We are booked at CBR and the suite would be $900 more. Hard to justify that extra cost when it is just the two of us. But it looks sooo cute!!! :rotfl2: And I am 36, but I think the Murphy bed looks really cool too. :thumbsup2

I know you weren't asking me, but even if we had a car, we wouldn't attempt that....

We had preferred pool view at Pop in March. And the night time pool noise was not a problem. I left the door open to listen to the splashing, and when we closed it, we could not hear anything enough to be disturbing as we went to sleep. It was a great location.

No way would I plan a 7 anything breakfast on an UnME morning. That is just my opinion. It would be way too stressful. We like to be back at Pop (or wherever) having some down time, last minute run through the gift shop, wind down with some ice cream, etc. before that bad bus pulls up.

Now would I. Maybe Lana lives the fast and furious life, though.

Okay ladies...thanks for dashing my hopes of making the 'Unmagical' morning better. :rotfl2:
No, I'm not a daredevil. But I could hope for a fast & furious cab driver. :rotfl:
I was just trying to squeeze one last thing in.
I knew you would give an honest answer though, so thank you.
MS Anita you are more than welcome to give me any advice.
Lexi is a bit bummed but she liked your idea of doing some last minute shopping. :goodvibes

Off to cancel that ADR now...

Thanks for sharing your preferred pool experience. We were wondering about the pool noise. Good to know it won't be a factor.
We have always been happy with our prefered locations in the past so I bet this will be a touch better. :thumbsup2

I'm off to make a countdown for Lexi...thought she would not want one but she informed me she would like one. (I think she is slightly excited)

Happy Sunday all!

The suite looks so cool. Did the girls think the table bed was comfy? Can you believe in all our trips down 75 to FL we have never had the OJ!

LoL...my boys have plenty of road trip stories- it's the only way we travel- we take too much stuff!! This last trip was the first one w/o the "stow and go" van, I was nervous but we made it!!

I, too, wouldn't schedule a 7am Chef Mickeys. Imagine what time you would have to get up to get over there...and all your packing would have I be done before you did !! Ahh!! I'm still packing as we walk out the door!!

MeMom I would love to have you as a co-worker! How do you feel about the commute? :rotfl:

That Lion King suite is too cool for school! So fun!:thumbsup2 my trip in 2014 is likely gonna be a solo one and so I'm thinking it will be either AoA or Pop so I'm loving all of your pictures even that much more! It's definitely time for me to start planning!

On our trip in April, we left at midnight and drove 14 hours the first day, DGD was like this :furious: for the last half hour.
We had a Finding Nemo suite and I slept on the Murphy bed. I thought it was very comfortable.....or I was just exhausted every night. :scratchin

A little late, but I'm here. Great start! I NEED to stay at AOA. The Little Mermaid section is my childhood dream come true. I've been obsessed with LM for basically my whole life.

It is so exciting to pull into the parking lot of your resort on the first day of a Disney trip.
:woohoo:

The girls pointed out their favorite pictures. They liked the monkey and giraffe picture in this one.

What? They didn't choose Nemo??? :confused3

Brooklynn had chosen for us to be in a Lion King suite.
Looks like Brooklynn made a great choice! :goodvibes

The bathroom in the bedroom.

I like the artwork in the shower!

Now that is exciting stuff when you are four and six.

Hey, that's exciting stuff when you're.............uh.............even older than that!!! I hadn't heard about the table bed before.............what a neat concept! :cool1:

Those are the first pictures I've seen of the inside of the Lion King suites and I must say, they are adorable! It's so colorful and fun! :goodvibes

Thanks for the pictures. I want to stay there at least one time. It looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to see the rest of your photos.

checking in (late as usual), I could never get sick of your reports! I actually end up missing them when I don't have time to DIS. I remember when I was working nights at Pop and reading that first report. I love seeing the comparison pictures of the girls. I truly hope we all are friends for many years to come.

A weekend for just Jill and Brooklynn, that would be such a great treat.

I was so happy to see that Welcome Center when we drove down, it had a completely different meaning to me.

Aww, sassy Bella.

I love how your suite was decorated!

I like that AoA has resort merchandise too. That's what I asked my dad for Christmas last year. It would be so nice if Pop bought back resort merchandise, even if it was only Limited time.

Brooklynn reports that she did not hear the underwater sounds in October, but she did on this trip. So, I don't know if it comes and goes or what.

The AoA Little Mermaid buildings are like Pop. The suites have enclosed hallways and no balconies. The suites are nice in having the living room space just to hang out in as a group. :thumbsup2

It is in no way worth $900 to stay there. It's worth visiting, though, especially because you will be right around the corner from it.

Happy Sunday all!

Not saying you can't try it and become the expert for all of us on getting in a last meal, but it is not for us. Too many loose ends to tie up on departure morning, and we like a more relaxed atmosphere and having more control over our time. We do sometimes get our bags checked in and go to a park or DTD, but we usually have much later UnME pick-ups. I would hate to have to leave mid-meal to try to scurry back to meet the bus. That's just me.

As far as the pool noises, you do have to consider that I stay sleep deprived, especially in WDW. When my head hits the pillow, I am gone, so for me the noises don't exist. The thing that did bother me when we had the door open to hear the pool fun - and just to have the door open because I am me ;) - was the people next door coming out to the balcony to smoke. Their smoke drifted into our room, and I really didn't want our clothes smelling like smoke, so I shut the door each time.

The suite looks so cool. Did the girls think the table bed was comfy? Can you believe in all our trips down 75 to FL we have never had the OJ!

They did like the bed. They are fine in any Disney bed, of course, but the mattress was plenty thick on that one, and it was fine.

Do you guys always drive to WDW?

LoL...my boys have plenty of road trip stories- it's the only way we travel- we take too much stuff!! This last trip was the first one w/o the "stow and go" van, I was nervous but we made it!!

I took road trips with my kids to Florida, but now that I have discovered the convenience of flying, I am on Team Airplane whenever it is possible!

MeMom I would love to have you as a co-worker! How do you feel about the commute? :rotfl:

I might use all my paycheck for gas, huh? :upsidedow

You'd like the Little Mermaid room, I bet. Even next year, the rooms are still going to feel newer and fresher, I bet. What will make you decide between the two resorts?

I am always exhausted in WDW, too. so even sleeping on the floor, which has happened a few times, I am pretty much out and snoring the night away very quickly!

14 hours? Our 11-12 is enough for me, and I don't want to even think about people who do 20 hour trips! :scared:

A little late, but I'm here. Great start! I NEED to stay at AOA. The Little Mermaid section is my childhood dream come true. I've been obsessed with LM for basically my whole life.

Then, yes, you need to stay there! You need a room overlooking the Mermaid pool. ::yes::

:woohoo:

It worked out fine for us leaving the bed down, because we only did one night there. I don't know how much of a hassle we would have felt like it would have been to take it up and down everyday, if we had needed/wanted to use the table for eating.

Joining! Looking forward to hearing about this one. :) I love the Lion King suite!

It was nice. I am glad we got to try it out. I am sure there will be future stays at AoA, and I am guessing Nemo and Cars will be checked out on some of those. I would have no problem with Jill's family getting a suite and me having a Mermaid room, either. That's not as good as connecting rooms, because I am able to help out more in the mornings and night times getting the girls ready, but with her number now and my claustrophobia, it may be the way we go in the near future. Of course, two connecting Pop rooms are still fine with me. All we would have to do is list one of the girls in my room. They are always free to sleep in my room even now, but Brooklynn can't tolerate my snoring.

Joining in! :mickeyjum

Good to see you! Hope you had a great school year! What's coming up exciting for the new school year?

Those are the first pictures I've seen of the inside of the Lion King suites and I must say, they are adorable! It's so colorful and fun! :goodvibes

The suites would be great for your family, and I bet Jake would love the Cars section. :car:

Thanks for the pictures. I want to stay there at least one time. It looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to see the rest of your photos.

It would probably work well when you and your parents are going. ::yes::

I took about 1500+ pictures on this trip. I don't recall the exact number, but I know it didn't get to 1600. The number was lower - no parks and because of my stupid foot, I had a lot of hours of doing nothing.

I like that AoA has resort merchandise too. That's what I asked my dad for Christmas last year. It would be so nice if Pop bought back resort merchandise, even if it was only Limited time.

So glad you found our report! You need to move back closer to WDW and work in the Disney magic again. pixiedust:

What did your dad end up getting you from AoA? They had the paintbrush pens again this time. They get a shipment and sell them very quickly, so they are hardly ever there. Yes, I wish Pop would get back resort merchandise. They used to carry t-shirts, sweatshirts, pens, cups, etc. I am glad to have one t-shirt, two big drink mugs, and some smaller coffee mugs.

Jill we will be there the first week of Oct. If you do decide to go we will need to plan a meet!!!:)

Love the looks of the LK suite. DH & I walked over to see AoA in May. It was so hot that day I wanted to just jump into that pool but I just cannot get past the no outdoor corridors or stairs. The little ones were having a ball in the pool though.

Late getting here but joining in now and looking forward to hearing all about your trip :thumbsup2

I'm glad the girls traveled well. We always drive (about 14 hours) and my kids always do great, better than their mom. But, they never sleep in a car. Doesn't matter if it is late night, early morning, or middle of the day.

I agree with Brooklynn's choice of the Lion Kings suite. I LOVE the Lion King!

I'm here I'm here!!!! Can't wait to see a different kind of adventure for your gang.

Hate to start of with some heartbreaking news, but wondering if my dear dis friends could pray for a dear friend of mine. Today, at 30.5 weeks pregnant, my dear friend lost her little bundle. No news yet on what happened exactly, but I am just heartbroken for her.
