We (myself, DH, and 3 adult DDs) will be staying in an AOA suite in August. DH, one DD, and I will be there for a week. My other 2 DDs are not sure if they will be able to join us for the whole time, so may be arriving a couple of days later, or leaving a couple of days early. This is making planning more difficult, and I have a couple of questions:

1. Will my DDs be able to take Magical Express from MCO if they arrive a couple of days after the rest of us? Or will they be able to use Magical Express to get to the airport a couple of days before our resort reservation is done?

2. I was going to get 7 day tickets for all of us now, so that I can make park reservations. Can I cancel the ticket days that they don't need once their schedules are confirmed?

Thank you so much for the help!

1. yes, everyone on the room reservation is entitled to a round-trip ride.

2. I’d say very unlikely. Easier to go up in days than to downgrade.

1. Yes - just let Magical Express know who and when (866-599-0951).
2. No - You can always add, but RAAAARRRELLY can you reduce the number of days on a ticket.

1. Yes - Your daughters can take the Magical Express as long as they are listed on the resort reservation. They don't have to be traveling with you in order to ride it.

2. No. ticket purchases are non-refundable. But you can receive a credit for unused tickets that can be applied to future ticket purchases.

Just to clarify - a guest can get credit for unused tickets as long as the ticket was entirely unused. If OP buys 7 day tickets for the DDs, but the DDs only use 4 days of those tickets (for example), they will not get credit for the unused 3 days on that ticket.

I'm sorry but I don't know the policy for tickets in which only some of the days were used.

Partially-used tickets will expire and hold no value.

OP, there isn’t a great solution to your situation as long as park reservations are required (and likely to sell-out). You could wait as long as possible to buy tickets, keeping an eye on the park reservations calendar, and maybe the girls’ plans will solidify before you need to buy. Good luck!

To buy 7-day tickets for some of your party and 5-day tickets for the others, you will have to buy your tickets separately rather than as part of a room and ticket package. You would book your room as room-only. If the people for whom you buy the 5-day tickets later decide to stay the extra two days, you can upgrade the 5-day tickets to 7-day tickets later (unless all parks are then sold out). The deposit/refund/cancellation policies for separately-purchased room and tickets are different from the policy for a room and ticket package, which may be a disadvantage (or an advantage, depending on your circumstances). But, as Wood Nymph said, you would get a credit for wholly-unused tickets if someone has to cancel their trip, even if you can't get a refund.

If you have trouble buying tickets directly from Disney without getting a package, consider buying them from an authorized reseller.

Edit: I wouldn't wait too long before buying the tickets.
