Guest Check In Question

Hi Everyone,

This is the first time we've booked a 2 bdrm dedicated villa and I'm not sure how this works. The reservation is under my name/account, but our guests are tied to it for magic bands, etc.

Their flight arrives in Orlando before ours (but in the evening so the room should be available).

Does anyone know if they can actually get into the room if we have not arrived yet? (Our flight doesn't land until 9:30---if they can't get in before we get there, it will be a late night for them.)

Yes. Any adult on the reservation can check in whenever they arrive.

Both answers are actually yes. Yes, you can set up so that different bands charge to different cards. And yes, this usually messes up, from posted experience of others.

I would recommend you only activate charging for yourself and your family, and have the others not charge to their bands. Many, many reports of all the bills going to one card, despite the front desk telling the guests that the bands are set up correctly to charge separately.

At the end of the day, the only time charge-to-band is really convenient is at a pool or water park where you aren't carrying a wallet. Even then, you need your ID if you want an adult beverage, and your DVC or AP card if you want a discount. So just plan on the guests carrying a credit card as well. Or be prepared to go through an awful lot of receipts trying to figure out what is what on the evening before checkout when you get the room/band charges bill.

Charges aren't applied to the Credit cards until you hit $1500. You can set up separate cards and check with the front desk in a couple of days, get a print out of charges and take it to your room to verify.

I usually review the room charges the night before check out and pay the bill.
