This was buried in another thread last week, so many thanks to the first person who found it. If you are planning a May/June trip next year like I am, here is the info from facebook.

Class of 2014 we have some news for YOU!
Grad Nite 2014 will be on the following dates next year at Disney California Adventure:
- May 16, 17, 21, 22, 24, 28, 30 & 31
- June 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 18 & 19

The 2014 Grad Nite Private Party will be held in Disney California Adventure from 10pm - 2am.
Seniors will be able to able to enjoy both parks during the day when normal park guests are in the parks and then have their own PRIVATE Grad Nite Party in Disney California Adventure.
Stay tuned for more information in the coming months...

Wow, they've changed how they do Grad Nite since my time! Ours was all night. It was like 4 in the morning when we left Disneyland. We weren't in the parks during regular hours at all, which was so much fun for teenagers!

I bet it was so much more fun for everyone else too:rotfl2:! It's not been a popular change for those of us who are non-teenagers:). I wish they'd change it back.

I don't think the new way of handling grad nights is a great plan. It is obvious from what some people have posted on these boards that they had their trip impacted in a negative way. I will say that I was really apprehensive when I found out there would be three grad nites (out of a four day trip) on our visit. We are just back, and I will say that the grad nites were really a non issue. If I didn't know it was a grad nite I would never have guessed that it was. We didn't see any line jumping, rude behavior, large masses of teens, or swearing. In fact the only swearing we heard was from a parent of little ones! That being said, because you can't know what kind of crowd you'll get, I would avoid the grad nites if I could.

I remember mine. I fell coming off monorail and watched the flashcube on my 110 float next to the submarines :) best time ever.

We will never return during grad nights - Disney should cancel them, the kids are so poorly behaved they do not deserve them - graduating from high school should not be a ticket to being a completely ignorant pile of idiots for a night!

I don't think they should cancel them, but they should go back to the old format. I wouldn't change my grad nite experience for anything and I think that had a lot to do with having the park to ourselves. It was great being a bunch of teenagers enjoying the parks in a new way. It's a teenager's dream to be up all night in Disneyland!

Just curious.. Were any of them sold out? If so, you'd definitely notice. It gets PACKED.

This is so disappointing! :( Even after all the complaints you would think Disney would want to do something and change it back. I guess they probably make too much money on it to give it up. :confused3

Yes. They can charge more for a full day. Also, if they give people with issues a free makeup day like they did for us, they make more money from parking, food, and other expenses. Win win win win.

Just because there were a few bad apples doesn't mean they should punish those who behaved well. They deserve to have a grad night and while they shouldn't go all crazy they have a right to be a little crazy at times.

The simple solution is to not go around this time if you are so disappointed.

I'm part of class of 2014!
and sorry in advanced LOL, I went during 24 hour Disney, I hated how packed it got and how they closed off a huge chunk of California Adventures, for grad night

Grad night is not a right, it is a priviledge. Disney are in the business of making money and if this begins to impact that, then sure, there is a real possibility it will change, maybe not this year, but potentially next.

And honestly, a "right" to go a little crazy? No, people have a right to go there and not have other people ruin their visit. Kids should have a right to ride at DLR without grads swearing at the top of their lungs!

Sure there are great grads, and if they have a problem with this, they should express that to their obnoxious, loud and ignorant fellow students and not to the people who paid a lot of money to visit DLR only to be disrupted by their behaviour!

I agree with your solution though, I will never visit during "obnoxious nights" again.

I don't know, but my guess is that they were not sold out. Being that they were also the last three grad nites, and that they had probably graduated a little earlier, maybe some of the hyper feelings that come with just graduating had worn off. Whatever the reason, I was very thankful. Like I said, it just isn't something I would risk if I could possibly avoid it.
