Gotta love bounceback! 10th ann. & family vaca PTR-9/201o-WE'RE BACK!

Just had a quick look at DHS restaurants and that is the only one that serves breakfast from 8am. Maybe you/we could get an 8am reservation, eat really quickly and then see if its possible to wonder around the park for empty pics ;) What do you think?

Since we're not into JoJo it would be fine with me to grab an early ADR time, eat and then try and take pictures. My guess is that they have a good majority of the park roped off similar to DAK and MK. You can only get so far but it is still worth being able to take pictures. For instance, at DAK, since Tusker House is pretty far into the park, there are a lot of photo ops along the way. At MK you can get to the HUB and get great castle pictures. They have the walkways to the various lands roped off but that's okay b/c when the park opens, the drop them and all the rest of the people are just walking down main street but we're already deep into one of the lands taking pictures. Does this make sense? Feels like I am rambling....

Sept 2006 was our 6th wedding anniversary.

DisneySept06018.jpg

We stayed at POR. If I am being honest, I wasn't thrilled. We called to ensure that we were not going to be near a building that was being renovated. I know it sounds crazy, but we needed to be able to have quiet time this trip. They told us that we would not be near construction. Um, well, our building was covered in scaffolding and it was LOUD all the dang time.

DisneySept06038.jpg

On the lighter side though, this was the trip that Joe and my nephew started to do this......constantly.

DisneySept06013.jpg

This was the surprise that Joe had delivered for me for our anniversary. Isn't it pretty?

DisneySept06057.jpg

We went to see the Spirit of Aloha this trip. It was a blast.

DisneySept06046.jpg

DisneySept06030.jpg

We also went to DTD and notice, my favorite picture spot. Nephew looks thrilled, doesn't he?

DisneySept06064.jpg

This trip also became the "hat trip." Tried them on all over the dang place.

We went to Coral Reef for our anniversary dinner. We were a little disappointed and have not gone back since. :confused3

DisneySept06103.jpg

We also took the Family Magic Tour this trip. It was a lot of fun. I recommend it to anyone with kids. My nephew just loved it. The end of the tour was awesome. We got to see Philharmagic with Wendy and Peter Pan. My nephew got to sit next to Peter Pan and he was THRILLED! It was an awesome personal character interaction for the entire family.

We spent a lot of time at MK this trip. Seems like it's a family favorite. I so wish that my brother had come with us on these trips but I think now that he's experienced Disney, I think he will be coming with us from now on. :yay:

We also did MNSSHP. I think this may have been our first time. It was great and became a "must do" from that point on.

There was scaffolding on the castle too which made for some craptastic pictures.

More great flashbacks!

You asked if anyone had done Ohana for dinner - I have!!! Its our family favorite. We go there every trip for our first night dinner, its become a tradition. I do have to say, I liked the Maui Scalloped Potatoes better than the noodles they now serve, but overall its a great meal. Its worth going for the bread pudding alone.:thumbsup2

Epcot was a lot of fun too.

Guess we found Nemo..........

Check out the fancy glasses on mom and Joe. LOL

We didn't spend a whole lot of time at DHS from what I remember.

DisneySept06267.jpg

We dined at the Sci-Fi. Fun place. Food isn't all that great but I don't think anyone really goes there for the food, do you?

DisneySept06279.jpg

I miss these guys:

DisneySept06286.jpg

We went to DAK for a day as well. Joe, my mom. sister and nephew rode EE but mom and I did not. The silliness continued at this park too

Our resort was loaded with these guys too. OMG, I have NEVER seen so many of them in one place at the same time!

DisneySept06393.jpg

We took pictures at the Poly one morning too on our way to breakfast at Kona.

DisneySept061753.jpg

DisneySept061755.jpg

We also went back to EPCOT on our way to the airport. Joe and I were the VIP's of the day. Woo Hoooooo!!!!!!!!!

Great to hear this! I really want to go to Ohana for dinner. We've not done that before. I LOVE bread pudding! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally makes sense :thumbsup2

I can't wait to do this and get lots of cool pics. Can't wait to see yours too :)

Ohana is really good, the chicken wings are awesome, the pot stickers are to die for and the meat on skewers is gooooood. My only complaint is that they bring the noodles out too early, thereby they are usually cold by the time the meat comes out. We are gonna ask them to hold back the noodles until the meat comes out, that way we can eat them both hot at the same timel.

Loving all the flashback photos. How sweet was Joe to get you the Cinderella Slipper. Its sooo pretty :cutie:

Your nephew and Joe crack me up with their thumbs up poses :rotfl:

I have never seen clown fish squash together like that before, looks really weird, but cool :goodvibes

OMG, that frog picture is freaking me out! :scared1: When we were there in Oct. '06 I remember the night we got there we were going to take the boat from SSR to DTD and saw a lot of frogs. One of them even jumped right onto somebody else who was standing there. Then I was really creeped out! :rolleyes1

How cool you got to be VIPs! :thumbsup2

What fun to relive all of these trips. It's neat to see the things that have changed (castle weirdness, Epcot wand), as I didn't know about them at all!

We loved Ohana's, too. I don't know how a vegetarian would fare there, but for meat-lovers, it's heavenly!!! The pot stickers were my favorite and I devoured most of them. DH loved the various meats.

I have heard a lot of good things about the pot stickers at Ohana. I can't wait to try them.

Joe picks out some awesome gifts. There are few more that I am going to post too.

Yep, the thumbs up thing is now a Disney tradition. I have a million pictures of those two doing that. :rotfl:

I can't wait to try Ohana now after reading all of the comments that I have seen. YUM!!!!!!!

It's amazing how much things change yet stay the same at Disney. There is always something new to see. :thumbsup2

OMG, that frog was gross....and there were TONS of them stuck to the walls at the resort. EEwwwwwww....... One year my mom squished one by accident. :confused3 It was gross.....

It was fun being the VIPs. They gave us a free picture too to bring home.

Thanks for reading!

Our next trip was February 2007 for Joe's birthday. We also went to the PPP which was fun, but I like MNSSHP much better. We got "preferred AP seating" for the fireworks at PPP and honestly, the seats were craptastic. I have no clue how they thought that these seats were worth making ressies for. :confused3

We stayed at the Contemp. What a story that was. Bottom line was that we had to go back and change our room or get keys that worked about 5 times or so at midnight. They did upgrade us though for our troubles which was nice.

I'm okay with the other changes, but is ELP replacing Spectro? That does NOT make me happy! I love the music to spectromagic. This really bums me out. I remember the ELP from when I was a kid at Disneyland, and I don't think it compares (at least not in my memory).

I saw that about them bringing the Electrical Parade back. That could be kind of cool since I've never seen that. Wonder how long they'll have it. :confused3

I just don't know how I feel about all of this. :confused3

Back to my memories......... lol

Here are views from our patio. We were upgraded to a first floor water view room.

DisneyFeb07001.jpg

DisneyFeb07017.jpg

These goofy dudes actually came INTO our room. I about flipped. Joe had cheese curls and he was feeding them so when I opened the door they decided to come in.

DisneyFeb07010.jpg

My friend was visiting her parents from Greece. Her parents live in Orlando. She came to MK with her son. We had a great time.

Woah what is that, looks awesome!

Loving the pics and how cool that you were upgraded at CR, but no so cool because you were having problems with your KTTW card :(

Oh my it sounds so exciting all the new things coming this Summer. I agree on hoping to see Toontown one last time before it goes, but I am excited about the new expansion for the Princesses.

I wonder what the Summer Nightastic will be like.

I just hope to be able to see Toontown one more time so this weekend I am going to see what I can find on line about the expansion and if there are any dates posted.

I am excited to see what they will do with the princesses too. I love Belle and can't wait to see what it will be like.
