Gotta love bounceback! 10th ann. & family vaca PTR-9/201o-WE'RE BACK!

Don't you hate when you lose an entire post! Ugh, just happened to me so I guess I will come back and do my update again later.

I hope you don't mind if I post pics...

I got inspired by you to scrap a little. I have almost ZERO supplies, just some plain colored paper, a spool of ribbon, & 2 sticker sheets, but this is what I've done for the dogs' album:

Those look really cute!

Ugh, that does stink! I hate when that happens.

Also another obsessive scrapbooker here, I'm lucky with the lugging around photo stuff, DD still has to have a stroller, lol. Your pages are great--I'm a "hybrid" scrapper--Digi and paper, although I'm going digi for our trip from this December (I think) found so many CUTE CUTE disney digi stuff that I'm going to try it this time.

Veronica

I've not tried to digi scrap yet. Too scared!

Thanks. Seems that once I get on a roll I will do a TON of pages..then zip, zilch, nada for like six months.
I've been wanting to get into digi-scrapping, too. I have some friends who do it, and they are just so stinkin' good! I use a Mac, and most of the tutorials I've seen are for PCs. I haven't been able to find anything useful for Macs. I would prefer to take a class, but I doubt I'll be able to find anything around Podunk, TN. Maybe I can make it to Knoxville to take a class sometime.

Beka- your pages are awesome! It certainly doesn't look like you just had colored paper and a sticker roll! :rotfl: Keep it up, girl!

Have you tried digitalscrapbookplace.com? I know they have quite a few tutorials there, not sure if they have Mac. I really want to get into it too. I need to decide which software I want to buy. I really like Photoshop Elements, but it is so complicated.:confused3

Hey if you're close to Knoxville then you're not far from me :) I just live over the mtn in Western NC--lots of digi designers use a MAC, there are great online classes so that you wouldn't have to travel too. Take a look at jessicasprague dot com she's an awesome teacher and I know she has an intro to digi scrapping class on her site.

Nice to see we have some scrappers among us!!

So I heard back from Stephen. Get this. The cake that I mentioned? Well, last year I got it for $175. This year.....$425! Are you kidding me????? I told him that I thought it was outrageous and how can it be THAT much more expensive?????

On the bright side though, my custom menu isn't going to break the bank. It's $34 per person, including the ice cream sundae action station. I was expecting it to be more.

I am going to email him back today so that I can get this finalized. I had another thought on cake. I'm addicted to cake and I have to have one for our 10th anniversary. I am going to get the tiny individual wedding cakes for us on the night that we eat at the GF Cafe. That way I can get them from the GF bakery and I know that they will be good!

Not much of an update. Hope to have much more this weekend.

I still think that is the most absurd thing I have ever heard in regards to the cake. I am anxious to hear what he has to say after you emailed him! Glad the rest of the pricing was to your liking though!:thumbsup2

No, I haven't tried there. I will now, though! Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

ITA about PSE. I need a PS class, too!

I'm a couple of hours (and hour and a half if I drive!:lmao:) from Knoxville. I'm an hour away from Asheville, now that I-26 has opened up.

Thanks for the link to that site! I will definitely check it out!

$425??? Is McDreamy going to be feeding it to you? From a solid gold fork????

Wow! :scared1: Thats a ridiculous increase in one year! Is this the same person you dealt with last year? I hope they will work with you to get the price down!

Still no response from Stephen. I think the reason for the price difference is that for them to deliver the cake from the GF to EPCOT it has to be cake for 50, Insane, isn't it? I foresee a lot of changes to my planning ahead ...............

Well, I have some sad news. :sad1: Jenn and John have split and so her trip is canceled. I am very sad by the news. She's an awesome person and is going through a really hard time right now. Please keep her in your thoughts.

I was so looking forward to vacationing with Jenn and her family. I will be making some changes to our trip now. For one, the dessert party is off. I think we're going to just do another Wishes Cruise. It will save me a ton of money anyway if we do the cruise instead. I still have not heard from Stephen any way so I guess it's all for the best.

I am going to go over all of our dining plans again and possibly make changes there as well.

While I am excited to vacation with my family, I am devastated that my good friend will not be joining us and moreover, that she is going through such a rough time right now.

It's breaking my heart & has me  at the same time. BIG HUGS to Jenn! We love ya girl!

I don't know y'all really well, but we've all talked via the DIS and via FB, and I consider you to be friends. It absolutely breaks my heart to hear this news. I can't even begin to imagine how Jenn is feeling. :grouphug:

As hard as it is for me to do this, I have to start thinking about our trip and the changes I need to make now that Jenn and her family won't be with us.:sad1:

I've decided that the dessert party is definitely out. I am going to send an email to Stephen at Disney to cancel. I had not signed the contract yet so I should be okay to cancel.

I talked to Joe and we've decided to do another Wishes Cruise with the family to celebrate our 10th anniversary this year. The cost is much lower than the dessert party. It's about $1,000 less. We're not going to get a specialty cake for the boat since it's so dang humid and last year it basically melted. I will get the cake another day, most likely when we dine at the GF Cafe.

Below is the tentative new itinerary (I think)

Day of Arrival
Right now, it looks like all flights there arrive in the morning. We had hoped that my nephew could go to school that day so it may be that he and my sister arrive the next morning.

Right now the plan is to check in check in and then go to DHS when we arrive. We plan to have dinner at EoS and then shop at DTD during the evening.

Day 2

If my sister arrives today, we will probably not do CP for breakfast since I want an early ADR there.

Breakfast at resort - wait for sister and nephew to arrive

Magic Kingdom

Lunch at Casey’s (family favorite – what is it with these hot dogs anyway?)

Dinner at O’Hana

Back to MK for the evening

Day 3
Breakfast at Resort

Epcot Future World

Lunch at Sunshine Seasons

Break for mom and DH

Dinner at Kouzzina

Evening – back to Epcot for Illuminations

Day 4
Late breakfast at BOMA

DAK

Lunch at Flame Tree (another family favorite)

Stay for parade

Break (go to AKL for zebra domes)

Dinner at Fulton’s (my sister’s favorite)

Day 5
Early breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace so I can get empty park pictures.

Hopefully this will be a MNSSHP night. In the past, there has been a party during this week, on this day of the week.

Dinner at Whispering Canyon

MNSSHP

Day 6
Breakfast at the resort

DHS

Lunch at Sci-Fi

Hoping that they offer Fantasmic tonight. If so, dinner at Mama Melrose. Cross your fingers for me people!

Day 7

Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s

EPCOT World Showcase day

Dinner at the Grand Floridian Café

Not sure where we are spending the evening. Possible DTD for more shopping! Woo Hoo!

Day 8
Breakfast at Kona for our 10th anniversary.

Resort/relaxation during the day.

Photopass session at WL

Early dinner at Yachtsman

Wishes Cruise (hopefully out of the GF Marina) at night. I'm wondering if there will be a MNSSHP this day. There has been over the last few years. If so, will we see those fireworks instead or will they not have cruises this night? Sheesh, I can't wait til March so that I can call and find out!

Day 9
Breakfast at the resort

DHS to finish what we missed

Lunch at a counter service somewhere…dinner too. We decided that we didn’t want ADR’s for one day so that we could just go with the flow. By the way, this is very new for me to just “go with the flow.”

Day 10
Breakfast at Akershus – Belle is my favorite princess so I am looking forward to this ADR. The food here is quite good as well.

We will finish anything we missed at EPCOT and do our final shopping at Mouse Gear.

Lunch will be in the UK for fish and chips.

Dinner at Maya Grille at CSR.

Departure Day
So far looking at the flights as they are today, we should get park time in before heading to the airport. My sister may leave a day earlier so that my nephew doesn't have to miss more than a week of school.

So, there it is. Agenda draft 2. Any suggestions?

So sorry to hear that Jenn won't be able to come - I understand your disappointment.

The new plan looks really good, though. Never done a Wishes Cruise, but it does sound really nice - and a good way to celebrate. I also like that you planned in a 'go with the flow' day :thumbsup2

Soph,

I finally stopped lurking and created a user profile as you requested. Itinerary looks good. Hopefully it won't monsoon like it did during the Star Wars Weekends trip. I'm sure if it does between you and mom's McGuyver packs we should have enough ponchos and just about anything else to deal with the weather. I'm also going to break in a pair of shoes before the trip unlike last time. I also see you made sure to make a stop at the Animal Kingdom for your beloved Zebra Dumps. I still don't understand the fascination with those....
