Gotta love bounceback! 10th ann. & family vaca PTR-9/201o-WE'RE BACK!

So sorry to hear that Jenn won't be able to come - I understand your disappointment.

The new plan looks really good, though. Never done a Wishes Cruise, but it does sound really nice - and a good way to celebrate. I also like that you planned in a 'go with the flow' day :thumbsup2

Go with the flow......so UNLIKE me!!! Ha! I think my family will appreciate a non-commando style vacation!

Soph,

I finally stopped lurking and created a user profile as you requested. Itinerary looks good. Hopefully it won't monsoon like it did during the Star Wars Weekends trip. I'm sure if it does between you and mom's McGuyver packs we should have enough ponchos and just about anything else to deal with the weather. I'm also going to break in a pair of shoes before the trip unlike last time. I also see you made sure to make a stop at the Animal Kingdom for your beloved Zebra Dumps. I still don't understand the fascination with those....

Yay! You joined! :woohoo::woohoo: I'm so happy!!!!!

I still have to find us matchy matchy shirts for our photo shoot. I was thinking though that maybe we can do basics like jean shorts and black shirts, or maybe brown shirts? Shelly isn't a fan of matchy matchy either but come on...it's my anniversary!!!!!!!

I hope it doesn't rain like it did last May either. That was the worse I have ever seen it at Disney by far.

And break in a couple pair of shoes this time! Don't be like Joe and bring one pair and then get them wet and insist on a trip to Nike! :lmao::rotfl2:

Love the domes. They are AWESOME!!!

Today's agenda includes calling Disney to upgrade my mom's ressie to WL. :thumbsup2Since Joe and I and my brother are staying there, she is upgrading their room so that the whole family is at the same place. My sister and nephew are staying with her so we'll all be together.

I am looking forward to going back to WL. I love the fact that we can take a boat right to MK. While I love the Monorail there are times when I just want to "get there" if that makes sense. Walking to the boat and taking it over will be such a joy. :dance3:

Has anyone done a photo session at WL? If so, where do they take you? Are there a lot of inside shots? I'm just curious since we have only had this done at the Poly.:confused3

I am a little freaked over our itinerary and touring plans if we my sister and nephew end up arriving a day later and leaving a day earlier. :scared1: I am going to talk to her today and see if she is going to do this for sure or just thinking about it. Once I know I will sit down AGAIN and see what changes I need to make to what I have mapped out now.

Speaking of maps...I am going to order my custom maps again. I usually end up scrapbooking with them and honestly, I have like 4 sets but I am going to order another set and I think I will frame them this time.

I need to decide on an anniversary gift for DH. I'm clueless this time. :confused3 I know that there are several watches that he likes but they change stock so much that I have no clue what will be there when we get there in September. Another thought is a new stein for his collection. I am just not sure this time. Any suggestions?

I had to laugh. The other day I found about 20 rain ponchos from over the years. Remember the yellow ones? I have so many park pictures where it looks like a sea of yellow. :lmao: It seems that every year I try and find these dang things to pack them and can't so we end up buying more. I seem to put things "in a safe place" never to be seen again. I need to start a Disney box or something so that I pack these in September. Too bad they won't fit in my binder. :rotfl2:

:cool1: for WL! I've never been there, but it's one of my faves anyway. ;)

I would like to know this, too. Every photo session I've ever seen has been at the Poly! Must be a popular picture spot! :rotfl2:I am thinking about getting one at the GF with the tree and the gingerbread house. I'm still on the fence about that one, though.

:rolleyes1I may or may not have placed a large disney.com order so that I would have a box with the big "Disney" logo on it to use as a Disney box. :rolleyes1 Can I Disney say Disney one more Disney time?

Andrea, you make me laugh. I am kicking myself now for not saving a Disney box from Christmas! :lmao:

I liked the pictures we had done both years at the Poly but I wanted to try something different. I think I am going to call there and ask where they take you on their property. I am curious. I know for sure that I am getting the advance purchase photopass cd. I hate though that you have to wait for them to offer it to you now at the discounted price. They told me that around 45 days out they would send an email offering it.

Today I will definitely need to call and change my mom's ressie. I was suppose to do that on Sunday and time got away from me. I have GOT to get it done today for sure.

I really think that it will end up that my sister and nephew come down on Saturday instead of Friday with the rest of us and they go back on the following Sunday instead of Monday. Part of me wants to rework our entire itinerary based on Sunday - Sunday and then just add extra stuff for those of us that will be there the extra two days. I still am sad that Jenn won't be with me so it's like I am dreading the realization of making all of these changes. :sad1:

There are a few things that are must do's for me and therefore I have to make them happen:

1. SpectroMagic and Wishes
2. MNSSHP assuming it is offered
3. Fantasmic because I missed it last year
4. BTMRR because I missed it last year

There are also a few places on the must dine at list as well:

1. Kona for breakfast
2. GF Cafe
3. Kouzzina

I'm going to try and work on a new updated itinerary this week. I also know that I have to work in the following extras:

1. Wishes Cruise for our anniversary
2. PhotoPass session at WL
3. Possible tour since my DB has never done one yet

Anyone have any ideas for me?

I am also going to do itinerary cards again like last year and laminate them. Those things came in so handy I can't see doing a trip without them. I plan to print and laminate the CM thank you cards soon as well just so I can check SOMETHING off of my list!!!

I'm here, sorry its taken me so long :) I apologise for my style of replying, but I thought that it would make it easier for me to remember so I can reply properly :)

How exciting to be staying at WL :) I have always loved the look of that resort, so majestic and woodsy :) Can't wait to see your pics when you share them :)

Below is the tentative new itinerary (I think)

Day of Arrival
Right now, it looks like all flights there arrive in the morning. We had hoped that my nephew could go to school that day so it may be that he and my sister arrive the next morning.

Right now the plan is to check in check in and then go to DHS when we arrive. We plan to have dinner at EoS and then shop at DTD during the evening.

Day 2

If my sister arrives today, we will probably not do CP for breakfast since I want an early ADR there.

Breakfast at resort - wait for sister and nephew to arrive

Magic Kingdom

Lunch at Casey’s (family favorite – what is it with these hot dogs anyway?)

Dinner at O’Hana

Back to MK for the evening

Day 3
Breakfast at Resort

Epcot Future World

Lunch at Sunshine Seasons

Break for mom and DH

Dinner at Kouzzina

Evening – back to Epcot for Illuminations

Day 4
Late breakfast at BOMA

DAK

Lunch at Flame Tree (another family favorite)

Stay for parade

Break (go to AKL for zebra domes)

Dinner at Fulton’s (my sister’s favorite)

Day 5
Early breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace so I can get empty park pictures.

Hopefully this will be a MNSSHP night. In the past, there has been a party during this week, on this day of the week.

Dinner at Whispering Canyon

MNSSHP

Day 6
Breakfast at the resort

DHS

Lunch at Sci-Fi

Hoping that they offer Fantasmic tonight. If so, dinner at Mama Melrose. Cross your fingers for me people!

Day 7

Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s

EPCOT World Showcase day

Dinner at the Grand Floridian Café

Not sure where we are spending the evening. Possible DTD for more shopping! Woo Hoo!

Day 8
Breakfast at Kona for our 10th anniversary.

Resort/relaxation during the day.

Photopass session at WL

Early dinner at Yachtsman

Wishes Cruise (hopefully out of the GF Marina) at night. I'm wondering if there will be a MNSSHP this day. There has been over the last few years. If so, will we see those fireworks instead or will they not have cruises this night? Sheesh, I can't wait til March so that I can call and find out!

Day 9
Breakfast at the resort

DHS to finish what we missed

Lunch at a counter service somewhere…dinner too. We decided that we didn’t want ADR’s for one day so that we could just go with the flow. By the way, this is very new for me to just “go with the flow.”

Day 10
Breakfast at Akershus – Belle is my favorite princess so I am looking forward to this ADR. The food here is quite good as well.

We will finish anything we missed at EPCOT and do our final shopping at Mouse Gear.

Lunch will be in the UK for fish and chips.

Dinner at Maya Grille at CSR.

Departure Day
So far looking at the flights as they are today, we should get park time in before heading to the airport. My sister may leave a day earlier so that my nephew doesn't have to miss more than a week of school.

So, there it is. Agenda draft 2. Any suggestions?

I think everything sounds perfect and fits well together on all days.

I have spent the day so far putting together my Disney binder. Yes, I do one each and every year and it saves me aggravation every single time!

I can't believe how much I have to put in it already, considering we are still over 8 months out. Sheesh, watching that ticker takes forever, doesn't it?

I am still looking for dining suggestions? What's your favorite place to eat, what do you get, and why is it your favorite?

Come on lurkers, let me know what your dining favorites are!

Anyone have any suggestions on tours? We've done a few so far but I'd like to hear what everyone else has done.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

We did the Backstage Safari tour which was pretty cool. Learnt alot and even got to pet/touch a rhino.

I am still anxiously waiting for our priced menu for the dessert party, but in the meantime I am thinking of some other places that we'd like to eat at and wondering how to change up my current plans to fit some of them in.

What do you think about:

* Artist Point -

* The Wave

* Flying Fish

* Citricos

I'd love to hear thoughts here. C'mon out lurkers and let's hear your thoughts!

I have never tried any of those restaurants, but if I had to pick I would choose The Wave and Artist Point, as those have had some really good reviews from other Disers :)

Still no email from Disney on my menu BUT, I did get a surprise yesterday.

My DH ordered me 125, yes, 125, pins to trade on our next trip! :woohoo: Jenn's gettin' 50 of them and there was a lot of 25 that he got that I am keeping. Let the tradin' begin!

I've been buying pins for a few years now and frankly, they sit in a pin book because I don't know what else to do with them. :sad2: I figured that I could at least get some enjoyment out of trading them. I saw what fun Jenn's family had on our last trip and that inspired me so we got some traders.

No other real updates except ol' excessive compulsive me has already finished my tip envelopes for the places that I know we are going to eat at, our mousekeeping envelopes and my CM thank you cards. :rolleyes1 Yeah, I have seen my ticker and I understand that it says we have like 250 days but hey, what's wrong with a little .... um...... OCD plannin'?

How awesome he got you that many. I think keeping them in a pin book is fine, as you can look through it now and again and reminisce over where you got that pin from, or remember the story behind this pin :)

Well, I have some sad news. :sad1: Jenn and John have split and so her trip is canceled. I am very sad by the news. She's an awesome person and is going through a really hard time right now. Please keep her in your thoughts.

I was so looking forward to vacationing with Jenn and her family. I will be making some changes to our trip now. For one, the dessert party is off. I think we're going to just do another Wishes Cruise. It will save me a ton of money anyway if we do the cruise instead. I still have not heard from Stephen any way so I guess it's all for the best.

I am going to go over all of our dining plans again and possibly make changes there as well.

While I am excited to vacation with my family, I am devastated that my good friend will not be joining us and moreover, that she is going through such a rough time right now.

Gosh I am really sorry about Jenn. I hope she is doing ok

Today I will definitely need to call and change my mom's ressie. I was suppose to do that on Sunday and time got away from me. I have GOT to get it done today for sure.

Everything on your wishlist I would say is doable. I would defo do a Photopass Session and I hope you do the cruise for your Anniversary. I was thinking, seeing as you are no longer doing your Dessert Party, why not do the Illuminations Cruise for your Anniversary?

Tour wise, the only one we have done is the Backstage Safari. This was quite fun and really informative, great for us animal lovers :) We even got to pet a rhino. Keys to the Kingdom is always a good one and I read a review on the Behind the Seeds tour which looked pretty cool, I will try and find the post to show you.

Soooo do Kona for breakfast, maybe on your last day and you can make it like a tradition for every holiday :)

The new plans look good to me! I keep jotting down my tentative plans also, but it's driving me nuts cause I know it's most likely going to change again when park hours come out. And we don't know for sure when MNSSHP will be. I'm praying it will be offered that week!

I am interested in doing a Wishes Cruise also, seeing how this will be our honeymoon trip, I wanted to put something really special in there and this seems perfect.
Question for you? You can book 90 days in advance, is that correct?
When you book, does it need to be paid for in full, or do you pay for it when you arrive?
Thanks!!

And I know what you mean by changing of the plans ALL OF THE TIME. I keep doing it myself. I'm driving myself nuts on which resort, what type of tickets etc... Plus i'm in the middle of planning my wedding :headache: Oh, boy, I need a vacation!!:rolleyes1

I'm glad you're here.

How exciting to be staying at WL :) I have always loved the look of that resort, so majestic and woodsy :) Can't wait to see your pics when you share them :)

We stayed there once and really, really loved it there. I truly hoped for our 10th anniversary trip that we could stay at the Poly but the price difference is incredible. Maybe some day.

I think everything sounds perfect and fits well together on all days.

I hope so. :thumbsup2

We did the Backstage Safari tour which was pretty cool. Learnt alot and even got to pet/touch a rhino.

I would really love to take that tour. My nephew is 13 so he will be limited to what he can take. One year we did the Backstage Magic Tour and he spent the day with my sister. If they are not into a tour, maybe we can do the Safari tour and they can spend the day together.

I have never tried any of those restaurants, but if I had to pick I would choose The Wave and Artist Point, as those have had some really good reviews from other Disers :)

We went to Artist Pointe one year for our anniversary. The food was really good. It is a 2 TS meal but we're talking about it. I am being stingy with my TS credits this trip. :lmao: I have read about the Wave and am curious about it.

How awesome he got you that many. I think keeping them in a pin book is fine, as you can look through it now and again and reminisce over where you got that pin from, or remember the story behind this pin :)

I will definitely need another book this year. I am also going to try trading. Should be fun. Wonder if I will drive my family nuts by stopping to trade??? :rolleyes1

Gosh I am really sorry about Jenn. I hope she is doing ok

I can't even think about it. :sad1:

Everything on your wishlist I would say is doable. I would defo do a Photopass Session and I hope you do the cruise for your Anniversary. I was thinking, seeing as you are no longer doing your Dessert Party, why not do the Illuminations Cruise for your Anniversary?

I was thinking about an Illuminations Cruise but I have read that depending on how the wind is blowing you get smoke in your eyes etc. Apparently the boats cannot move beyond a specific point like they can during the Wishes Cruises. I don't know what to do. :confused3

We did Behind the Seeds two years ago. I'd do it again in a minute but I think my nephew was bored. :upsidedow My mom and I LOVED it. And it is very reasonably priced too.

Soooo do Kona for breakfast, maybe on your last day and you can make it like a tradition for every holiday :)

I love Kona. We established a tradition a few years ago of going to Kona on our wedding anniversary. I love the Tonga Toast but have been forcing myself to try other stuff too.

The new plans look good to me! I keep jotting down my tentative plans also, but it's driving me nuts cause I know it's most likely going to change again when park hours come out. And we don't know for sure when MNSSHP will be. I'm praying it will be offered that week!

I think the hardest part is getting the schedule down and then when they release park hours and party dates, making a zillion revisions and then trying to get your dining plans called in at the same time. Seems that they all realease around the same time. Last year we were able to get MNSSHP tickets on May 1st which is way past the time to call for ADR's. I guess we have to be flexible but man, it's like a race right at the 180 mark!

Thanks!!

We booked 90 days in advance. I don't know if that changed though because it was at the same time that ADR's had to be 90 days in advance. I am going to call though to find out if it is 90 or 180. We put down a deposit only. I think it was $50 but I can't remember. :sad2: The rest was paid when we checked in. I highly recommend it. I think you will really love it. It might be nice to order a cake too and have it delivered to the boat. I did that last year. If you'd like, I have pictures of the boat and cake on my TR from last year. You can check them out.

It is a lot to plan a wedding and a honeymoon at Disney at the same time. I did that too and there are so many date driven things to planning a Disney vacation it can get to you. I sure knkow what you mean about needing a vacation! Your plans look awesome though. I love your venue.

OhioDisneyLover says: Wonder if I will drive my family nuts by stopping to trade???

DB says: IF?!? I'm sure with you doing your pin trading, taking pictures of the 900 light decorations and the food pics we'll get through one of the parks within that ten day period..lol. I kid...I kid.

As far as the backstage tour goes it's not a make or break thing for me. You don't have to do anything special on my account. I'm skeptical of the "Behind the Seeds" tour. Sounds like gardening....

The Big Kahuna sounds good, can't go wrong with pancakes, french toast, eggs bacon :)

I found the thread with the BtST http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2325750&page=9 (post 132). Otherwise, what about the Segway Tour or Keys to the Kingdom?

Ask mom about Behind the Seeds. She LOVED IT! :goodvibes Yeah, I know, I take a LOT of pictures!

The Big Kahuna sounds good, can't go wrong with pancakes, french toast, eggs bacon :)

DH and my brother got the Big Kahuna. They seemed to like it.

Thanks for the thread link. My mom wants to take the segway tour but we tease her and tell her she will fall on her butt! She calls it the lawnmower tour. :rotfl2:

Lol, bless. DF wants to do it too, but I am not so keen (I too reckon I will fall on my butt continously!).

Well if you want to do the tour as a family, do KTTK, you get lunch thrown in and you get to learn lots about the park and its history :)

So sorry Jenn isn't going to be able to join you anymore. :sad2: But your new plans look good!

There is no way that I would do the segway tour because I KNOW that I would fall constantly and look like a fool! :rotfl:

KTTK sounds like a nice tour. I read about it and we may do that one or go back and do Living with the Land again, I really liked that one too! Such hard choices

I am still so upset that she's not going but I look forward to the day that she can come....even if it is years from now.. :sad2:

Lol, right there with ya on that one

I hate it when you can't decide, but either way they both sound good so you can't go wrong. I am still rooting for KTTK as its something new and I know the majority of people that do the tour have loved it :goodvibes

I'm doing a bit of research today so I'm going to check out KTTK. I really want to do a tour this year since we did not last year.

It's a very cold weekend here in NE Ohio. Yesterday it was 10. Yikes. :scared1:

My plan for today was to scrapbook but I now find myself here at the DIS reading reviews of tours and looking at menus.

As part of my binder each trip, I print the menus of all of the TS and CS places that we plan to eat at. On the airplane we look over the menus to pass the time. I also use them for budgeting OOP meals that we may have as well.

Looks like I need to work in a breakfast at Kouzzina as well. The family really wants to try it but they don't want to give up a dinner ressie there and switch to breakfast instead. :lmao: So it is back to the drawing board for me.

Also, yesterday DH said that he really wants to get a day at US! :scared1: WHAT, LEAVE DISNEY PROPERTY?????????? I nearly fainted. He really wants to see the Harry Potter whatever-it-is over there. I'm thinking if we do that, he has to give up his "resort" day:rolleyes1 because I'm not keen on giving up any of my Disney time. :rotfl2:

Last family trip in 2008 we had free tickets to Sea World and we didn't use them. :scared1: None of us could peel ourselves away from Disney to go.

Well, back to :laundy: and menu reading I go. I hope to have yet ANOTHER draft itinerary up soon.

A day at US & IoA isn't too bad and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is supposed to be v good once its opened, so you should defo check it out, plus US and IoA have loads of cool rides :)
