Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

I was totally waiting for the comparison post! Yay! :yay:

I really like your new hipster! That's one of the colors that I enjoyed in person, some of them I just don't find appealing. I think the great thing about Cafe Latte is that it really goes with everything.

It does look a bit roomier, too, which is nice.

For now I'll have to be content with my cargo sling, due to all the stuff I have to carry that's not mine. Although DS is getting older, so maybe by the next time we go I won't have to carry quite so much! :lmao:

Thanks for the hipstser update! I love both of your bags. Now to make a decision on what to get........:rolleyes1

Hi! I just started following your PTR...I'll be headed to Disney the week right after you!

I figured if I waited to post a reply until after I read all 49 pages, you'd be probably be back from your trip first! :lmao:

Looking forward to following the rest of your family's adventure!

Love the Vera's! :thumbsup2 I usually carry the Amy but we're there only for a few hours at a time so I don't need that much stuff.

I don't need this bag.
I don't need this bag.
I don't need this bag.
I don't need this bag.

How many more times will I have to say it before I believe it???

I can't believe I'm going to comment on a purse...
It's very nice and since I'm a guy are these purses very expensive? Where would I be able to find one if I were interested in buying one as a gift?

It's okay, Jordan. There comes a time when every man has to get in touch with his feminine side! :)

What a nice thing for you to do for someone.
Whoever is getting one for a gift is very lucky to have you as a friend! :thumbsup2

I checked out the hipsters on the website and on ebay.. I found one that was ok.. and on the website it was $42, and on ebay there was a buy now for $19.. woo hoo.. but I really really like the "Yellow Bird Hipster" ALOTT! So I searched on ebay... of course.. there is no lucky deals! hehe

You can purchase them on eBay or direct through the website. I think maybe Hallmark stores carry them too? They're Vera Bradley bags and, depending on what you get, can be pretty expensive. But they make very nice gifts! The website is verabradley.com.

Love the new VB!!!! I know that I am definitely going to have to acquire a new one before our next trip. They truly are the best bag in my opinion for Disney!!!! They just work so well---and you are just simply STYLIN'!!!! Love it!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I'm going to have to put it on my trip resolutions!

I made a note to make sure I include it in mine. :goodvibes

Thats not weird, I can see why you'd be a bit nervous about it. You and your family spend so much time and thought into picking which souvies to get (not to mention all the $$$) and then to think that you might never see it again is a valid concern! I am petrified to let DME be in charge of getting my luggage at the airport and get it back to my resort. I have all these terrible thoughts of me never seeing my luggage and all my personal belongings again  So I know where you're coming from :)

I have this whole control issue thing -- couple that with my instant gratification thing, and I break into cold sweats just thinking about it. :rotfl:

I love your bags! They are so cute!
And you look so cute wearing them!!

I can't wear bags like that............They make me look like one of those hams with the netting around them. Not attractive.:scared:

Thanks! I laughed out loud at your comment -- it's not true, but hysterically funny nonetheless!

I love your new hipster! I asked for one for Christmas, and I think that it's the older style, because it doesn't have the front pocket and the back zipper, but I LOVE it! I prefer to have bags that I can sling across my body, especially in Disney, because I'm always afraid that I'm going to stow it away and forget about it. The first thing I did was put everything I plan to take to the parks into it so that I could be sure that it'd fit. I found out that gift shop that my aunt works at carries VB bags and wallets, and she said that she can get me 25% off. So, I plan on going there on my day off to hunt down a matching wallet. ;)

I am always afraid my bag will fall out on one of the faster rides, so I like the security of the hipster being on me.

What pattern did you get? I want to get one of the smaller wallets for Disney.

I meant to ask this before--when you went to the vet, did they tell you how big Nala might get? Or did you post that and I missed it? That happens a lot.

I had a dog like your Bella--he was a 65 lb. German shepherd/husky mix, and he, too, thought that he was a lap dog. :rotfl:

She is going to be about the size of our other two -- between 55 and 65 pounds. I am going to miss holding her and inhaling her sweet puppy scent when she is bigger.

You've been busy on here today! I almost missed the new bag update.

I much prefer the new bag, but I'm not a pink fan. And I love how you wore a brown shirt to match! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Had to color coordinate for the photo! :rotfl:

I don't need the new hipster I don't need the new hipster. (But I really like the outside pockets!)

I use the shippping back to the resort all the time at WDW and we've never had a problem. It seems fancy somehow to say, "Just send that back to my room at French Quarter, will you?" (or maybe I don't get out much.) Then you get back to your room the next day and the little light is flashing on the phone to tell you where to pick it up. Better than lugging your stuff around.

The outside pocket on the back is going to be perfect for my KTTW card, fastpasses, and photopass cards! :thumbsup2

I think it sounds fancy to say that, too! It would be great to not have to lug stuff around. I don't see Connor agreeing to it, though, since he is worse than I am about wanting to play with his purchases immediately! ;)

Hey Jackie - did you ever get a Henna tattoo on your last trip? (I know I could actually read your TR and find out, but this is quicker! ;) )

I recently got one and am going to post some pictures on my PTR eventually. I was just rereading it and saw where you said you were going to get one.

You already know the answer to this since I posted before -- we had so much fun doing it that I want to do it again this summer. This year I won't get it on my hand though since it washed off too quickly.

You look adorable w/your new hipster! Now that I have a clear visual of how it fits on someone, I think I will try one!

ADORABLE pix from NYE! I've never fondue'd... I didn't even know people did it w/anything other than cheese and chocolate? Am I backwoods not knowing this?

Great update! And your hipster pix are perfect to make the Redbook cover with!!!

Thank you! Oh, I didn't think about using those for the Redbook cover -- good idea! :thumbsup2

I didn't know you could fondue meat until I met Charles. You aren't backwoods at all!

Hi! Finally all caught up with your PTR!

I love your new Vera hipster. I got the new Morgan in caffe late for Christmas and I love it - I carry around far too much junk. When it gets full I know it's time to clean it out and then it ends up weighing about 1/3 of what it weighed full!

Question about the hipster... I noticed a buckle on the pink older one - is there a buckle on the new one? The problem I had with the bagallini is that the buckle cut right across my collarbone - ouch! I'm wondering if I'd have this problem with the hipster too? I suppose I could wear the buckle on my back by flipping the bag around?? Couldn't do that with the bagallini - really only one way to wear it. I think the hipster may be the park bag I've been looking for. :thumbsup2

So glad that you are caught up! :goodvibes

I try to travel light with the contents of my purse -- the hipster makes me do that.

It does have a buckle, but it's adjustable and really doesn't bother me at all -- it lays very flat.

You know how much shopping we've done, so we should be a pretty good indicator that it's safe. We've never had anything lost. We had something that was broken, and they replaced it right away. Sending packages back to the room is great! They don't send food items, though, so keep that in mind.

And as for Nala, yes, her spoiledness and being a little crybaby when you all left her is exactly what I mean. How sweet is that? Tomorrow is going to be a rough day for that little girl.

Thanks for making me feel better about shipping stuff back to the resort. I am really going to make the effort to do that on this trip -- I know I will be a happier park tourer if I do.

Nala is surviving, but she sure is excited when we get home in the afternoon. It is so endearing to see her little tail wagging and listen to her excited squeaks.

Great new hipster Jackie! The bag I have is black but I love it....but after seeing your new hipster, might have to reconsider:rolleyes1

Thank you! I liked this pattern because I knew it would go with a lot of my work clothes -- I tend to wear a lot of blacks and browns in the winter.

I love the new hipster! I used a backpack for our June trip last year and it worked well. I would love to use a hipster but I don't know if I'd be able to use it. I carried extra snacks, water bottles and small handheld fans in the backpack and I doubt I'd be able to do that with a hipster. I don't carry my wallet if I don't have to. I put my ID, our KTTW, cell phone and cash/ATM card in the neck wallet I got from our travel agent.

Thank you! The hipster would not be big enough for snacks, water bottles, and fans, but it does hold quite a bit.

The new bag is adorable-and so are you posing with them! I love the color and pattern, and it does look much roomier. I use a Baggalini for the parks, and it's worked really well for us, but I would like to try a VB for regular life-they are so much cuter! Plus, all I have read are rave reviews of them.

The fondue from NYE looks like it was a great time, what a fun idea!

Thank you! I didn't become a fan of VB until I started looking for a park bag, but it has become my everyday bag as well.

We have fun fonduing -- we aren't big partiers anymore so it is just the right amount of excitement for us.

Thank you! I fell in love with it when it first came out, and I am so glad I own it now. I just adore the pattern. Won't go with a thing I wear in the summer, but it would match AKL...:rolleyes1

You will enjoy the days when you don't have to carry the world for DS -- although there are still times that I wish I had packed an extra set of clothes for Connor since he seems to wear more food than he eats.

Thanks for the hipstser update! I love both of your bags. Now to make a decision on what to get........:rolleyes1

Thanks! You know VB should be coming out with their new patterns for the spring soon...;)

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! Are you already as antsy as I am for June to get here? Today is my five month mark!

LOVE the bag! I need to get me one of them VB bags!!!

Thanks! It is just perfect for WDW!

Love the Vera's! :thumbsup2 I usually carry the Amy but we're there only for a few hours at a time so I don't need that much stuff.

Thank you! Oh, I am jealous now -- to be able to pop over to the World for a few hours when the mood strikes -- how glorious that must be!

I don't need this bag.
I don't need this bag.
I don't need this bag.
I don't need this bag.

It is the perfect pattern for Animal Kingdom!!!

Oops, that wasn't the right answer, was it? ;)

I can't believe I'm going to comment on a purse...

It's very nice and since I'm a guy are these purses very expensive? Where would I be able to find one if I were interested in buying one as a gift?

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: $54 retail, but as jillyb said, you can usually find them cheaper on ebay -- new with tags and everything.

It's okay, Jordan. There comes a time when every man has to get in touch with his feminine side! :)

What a nice thing for you to do for someone.
Whoever is getting one for a gift is very lucky to have you as a friend! :thumbsup2

I agree wholeheartedly, MeMom -- it is very sweet of Jordan.

I just can't help but think of the Seinfeld episode with the man purse. :lmao:

I checked out the hipsters on the website and on ebay.. I found one that was ok.. and on the website it was $42, and on ebay there was a buy now for $19.. woo hoo.. but I really really like the "Yellow Bird Hipster" ALOTT! So I searched on ebay... of course.. there is no lucky deals! hehe

The Yellow Bird is a very pretty pattern -- keep looking -- they pop up on ebay all the time.

You can purchase them on eBay or direct through the website. I think maybe Hallmark stores carry them too? They're Vera Bradley bags and, depending on what you get, can be pretty expensive. But they make very nice gifts! The website is verabradley.com.

Thank you for filling Jordan in -- sometimes it takes me a couple of days to respond. :goodvibes

Love the new VB!!!! I know that I am definitely going to have to acquire a new one before our next trip. They truly are the best bag in my opinion for Disney!!!! They just work so well---and you are just simply STYLIN'!!!! Love it!

Thank you! Have you decided on dates yet, Jen? Or a VB pattern? I am not particular. :rotfl:

THIS TIME IN FIVE MONTHS I AM GOING TO BE AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM SOAKING UP THE ATMOSPHERE! (Hopefully not soaking in sweat).

It is the perfect pattern for Animal Kingdom!!!

Oops, that wasn't the right answer, was it? ;)

Nope, not the right answer! And just this very day, my friend that's going the same time as us showed up at school with what on her shoulder???

A caffe latte bag! :furious:

She's not staying at AKL and she only paid $6 for it!!! (40% off and a $30 gift card).

That was tough for me.

When I told DH, he said, "Sure, go ahead and get one...as long as it only costs $6!" :headache:

Ummm, maybe he meant the shipping could only cost $6 -- yep, I am pretty sure that must have been what he meant. ;)

That stinks about your friend -- I always have a hard time dealing when my friends get something I have been dying to have -- I usually have to buy it then. :headache:

Which means it is only a matter of time for DVC for us...;)

Jackie---I SO loved your comments back to me about the trip and the VB...........made me laugh so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And OF COURSE I have thought about dates----since May was poo-fooed by Tom, I am now shooting for September---hoping to eat for FREE (please, please, please Mickey?!?!?!) AND I REALLY want to stay at WL!!!!! SO that has me thinking September---fall (technically, although it won't feel like it!)---WL---"outdoorsy/lodgey"----just not sure yet. Caffe Latte would definitely be in the running, but someone said they will probably be releasing some new patterns soon too since it is January........BUT YOU KNOW it will be a HIPSTER!!!! Oh Hipster, how I do love thee!!!!!!

You know---sorry this is WAY OT---since we are thinking about a September trip, and Megs and I are both September babies (I'm the 4th, she's the 29th), I would LOVE to take advantage of the free ticket, but how does that affect you when you have booked a package deal and the tickets are all rolled in together????? Just wondering!!!!
