Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Looks like you had a lot of fun on New Years! There was a Disney World marathon on the travel channel and my DH and I watched that all night.. it was probably one of the best new years I've ever had! :goodvibes I have done cheese fondue and chocolate fondue- but never with beef. How do you do it with beef? Do you use raw meat or cooked? I would like to try it- its a really good idea! Also, seeing Nala makes me want a new puppy because 1. puppies are sooo darn cute and 2. I want to give it a disney name! hehe I've always wanted to do that. The last doggy I got was about a year ago.. it was a spir of the moment thing.. and since really my DH wanted it.. I let him pick the name.. he chose Maggie from the Simpsons.. being a big simpsons fan.. I like it to because she is a beagle mixed.. but I think Maggie fits for a little hound dog! ;) Actually what the hay- I'll show you a picture.. Here's Maggs as a baby

Here's Mags last winter playing in the snow while her daddy snowplowed.. it was the worst snow day I ever remember:

and then just for kicks heres my Kitty witty Lilyann:

Lastly, I love both of your hipsters.. I love pink! It's my fav. color but sometimes its nice to get something in a different color.. I often have to say "nothing pink" hehe and black is always a good choice! Where did you order your bags from? :confused3 I have always wanted one.

I love the VB hipster. I carry it as my everyday purse because I can sling it over my body to chase to little ones. I'm amazed at how much I can stuff in it! Hopefully it will work for you!

It's my everyday purse as well. I love being able to sling it across my chest because purses always slip off my shoulders.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never had any issues. And I've used this, ahem, a lot. :rolleyes1

I really need, too. It's my whole control issue thing -- not knowing where my purchases are going to disappear to -- at the Beach Club where is the package pick-up -- Beach Club Marketplace?

Maggie and Lilyann are adorable! I can't wait until Nala is a little bigger and we can tell what she is going to look like as an adult doggie. She is so cute right now that I hope she keeps her good looks. :rotfl:

We just use vegetable oil in the fondue pot and heat it to about 350 degrees. Stick raw meat (we get it cubed like stew meat) on the fondue fork and let it sizzle away. I will warn you that your house will smell like a greasy diner afterwards -- I always have to open the windows and light candles to get rid of the smell. The deliciousness of the cooked meat is worth it though.

Pink is my favorite color as well -- I have tons of things in pink. ;) I usually order my stuff from Vera Bradley's site or ebay. Sometimes the prices are better on ebay by a few dollars.

Yup. Right off the lobby. Very convenient! ;)

There's a trip resolution then -- utilize sending purchases back to resort. Although knowing me that will make me buy more stuff -- which I don't consider a bad thing. :rotfl:

I want those Morroccan tiles for my kitchen but have never wanted to lug them around -- adding those to my souvie shopping list right now! :thumbsup2

And just think, you and Charles will have one less "pack" each to take to the parks with you on this trip!

I get worried about using that too. We have never used it at all and even though we don't plan on buying a lot of souvies this time around, maybe we should try it out too. :thumbsup2

That should free up some room! :thumbsup2

Okay, I will try it if you will! How middle school does that sound? :rotfl:

Thank you! One of my goals this trip is to send purchases back to the resort. I have never done that, and I am always scared that I will never see any of it again (I am weird, I know)

Thats not weird, I can see why you'd be a bit nervous about it. You and your family spend so much time and thought into picking which souvies to get (not to mention all the $$$) and then to think that you might never see it again is a valid concern! I am petrified to let DME be in charge of getting my luggage at the airport and get it back to my resort. I have all these terrible thoughts of me never seeing my luggage and all my personal belongings again  So I know where you're coming from :)

I love your bags! They are so cute!
And you look so cute wearing them!!

I can't wear bags like that............They make me look like one of those hams with the netting around them. Not attractive.:scared:

I love your new hipster! I asked for one for Christmas, and I think that it's the older style, because it doesn't have the front pocket and the back zipper, but I LOVE it! I prefer to have bags that I can sling across my body, especially in Disney, because I'm always afraid that I'm going to stow it away and forget about it. The first thing I did was put everything I plan to take to the parks into it so that I could be sure that it'd fit. I found out that gift shop that my aunt works at carries VB bags and wallets, and she said that she can get me 25% off. So, I plan on going there on my day off to hunt down a matching wallet. ;)

I meant to ask this before--when you went to the vet, did they tell you how big Nala might get? Or did you post that and I missed it? That happens a lot.

I had a dog like your Bella--he was a 65 lb. German shepherd/husky mix, and he, too, thought that he was a lap dog. :rotfl:

You've been busy on here today! I almost missed the new bag update.

I much prefer the new bag, but I'm not a pink fan. And I love how you wore a brown shirt to match! :thumbsup2

I don't need the new hipster I don't need the new hipster. (But I really like the outside pockets!)

I use the shippping back to the resort all the time at WDW and we've never had a problem. It seems fancy somehow to say, "Just send that back to my room at French Quarter, will you?" (or maybe I don't get out much.) Then you get back to your room the next day and the little light is flashing on the phone to tell you where to pick it up. Better than lugging your stuff around.

Hey Jackie - did you ever get a Henna tattoo on your last trip? (I know I could actually read your TR and find out, but this is quicker! ;) )

I recently got one and am going to post some pictures on my PTR eventually. I was just rereading it and saw where you said you were going to get one.

You look adorable w/your new hipster! Now that I have a clear visual of how it fits on someone, I think I will try one!

ADORABLE pix from NYE! I've never fondue'd... I didn't even know people did it w/anything other than cheese and chocolate? Am I backwoods not knowing this?

Great update! And your hipster pix are perfect to make the Redbook cover with!!!

Hi! Finally all caught up with your PTR!

I love your new Vera hipster. I got the new Morgan in caffe late for Christmas and I love it - I carry around far too much junk. When it gets full I know it's time to clean it out and then it ends up weighing about 1/3 of what it weighed full!

Question about the hipster... I noticed a buckle on the pink older one - is there a buckle on the new one? The problem I had with the bagallini is that the buckle cut right across my collarbone - ouch! I'm wondering if I'd have this problem with the hipster too? I suppose I could wear the buckle on my back by flipping the bag around?? Couldn't do that with the bagallini - really only one way to wear it. I think the hipster may be the park bag I've been looking for. :thumbsup2

Thank you! One of my goals this trip is to send purchases back to the resort. I have never done that, and I am always scared that I will never see any of it again (I am weird, I know).

You know how much shopping we've done, so we should be a pretty good indicator that it's safe. We've never had anything lost. We had something that was broken, and they replaced it right away. Sending packages back to the room is great! They don't send food items, though, so keep that in mind.

And as for Nala, yes, her spoiledness and being a little crybaby when you all left her is exactly what I mean. How sweet is that? Tomorrow is going to be a rough day for that little girl.

Great new hipster Jackie! The bag I have is black but I love it....but after seeing your new hipster, might have to reconsider:rolleyes1

I love the new hipster! I used a backpack for our June trip last year and it worked well. I would love to use a hipster but I don't know if I'd be able to use it. I carried extra snacks, water bottles and small handheld fans in the backpack and I doubt I'd be able to do that with a hipster. I don't carry my wallet if I don't have to. I put my ID, our KTTW, cell phone and cash/ATM card in the neck wallet I got from our travel agent.

The new bag is adorable-and so are you posing with them! I love the color and pattern, and it does look much roomier. I use a Baggalini for the parks, and it's worked really well for us, but I would like to try a VB for regular life-they are so much cuter! Plus, all I have read are rave reviews of them.

The fondue from NYE looks like it was a great time, what a fun idea!
