I saw this ⬇️ picture the other day, and at first it made me laugh and then it made me say - you gotta do a poll on this topic ::yes::

I know many people that use Uber, my DD22 being one of them. Her and her BF have used it many times when they go out with friends, so someone doesn’t have to be a designated driver, which is very responsible of them. I know many people that use a ride share to get them to and from airports. Using a ride share truly is a nice and convenient service, which is why we’re going to discuss it today. When I looked up rideshares, I found a lot of info…….

Lots of good info there. I didn’t know you could track the drivers location and I didn’t know you paid ahead of time - that’s all very convenient. Is the credit card charged after you are dropped off, to account for any small changes that may happen, like you want the driver to stop somewhere so can get a coffee or whatever? I’m sure my DD22 knows - I’ll have to ask her, I’m curious about that. I’m now wondering how many of you have used a rideshare service. So tell us today……..

Have you ever used a Rideshare service?
If yes…..where do you use it?
What company do you use?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I have never used a Rideshare service. I just can’t get into a stranger’s car, at least not yet. I’m sure one day I’ll use it, and when that happens, I’ll probably be nervous the entire time :rolleyes2. I have trust issues with strangers, I don’t know why, I’ve never had a horrible experience with a strangers - maybe I’ve seen to many movies and TV shows showing strangers doing bad things to people :confused3.

I use Uber and Lyft when I travel. I last used them in March for girls weekend on Long Island. We used them to go to and from vineyards. I also use it when flying to get from the airport to the hotel on vacation, and I use them when I travel for business too.

I have both apps on my phone and check to see which is cheaper when using them.

I have never used Uber or Lyft, but I’m sure I’ll need to at some point.

We have lots of Uber/Lyft drivers around us, and when I see that identifying decal in the back window, I do my best to back off or get out of their way. Lots of drivers have no idea where they’re going. It’s not that they drive too fast or aggressively. Some drive dangerously slow, especially on the highway. They jam on their breaks or cut you off. Many seem oblivious to the rules of the road.

I would be a panicky passenger.

I have never used Uber or Lyft, but DD32 uses them all the time when traveling. I might try it when DH and I go to Disney in May. Although I am happy to take Mears from the airport to my hotel, a pick-up time to return to the airport that is 3-4 hours in advance of my trip is just a little too much- especially for an early-ish flight.

My husband uses both Uber or Lyft for us when going to a hotel or to the ports for our cruises in Florida.

He looks who is close and who is cheaper.

I use Lyft to go to the airport awesome experience I used it to come home from the airport and I thought it was a hostage situation it was seriously not a good situation I literally had to get my phone out and threaten to call the police to get this person to start driving towards my house because that’s not what they were doing a 45 minute drive was almost 2 hours
I’ve used Lyft locally when I had to do something that require me not to drive that involve going to the hospital nonemergency situation
I’ve used them in New York when I was traveling for work I’ve used them in Chicago when I was traveling for work I also got lucky to use car service at the company he had in New York that was much nicer
Years ago we used taxis that was hit and miss you never knew what you were gonna get
I’m old-school i much prefer taxis ymmv
For my next trip I asked a friend to take me to the airport I just didn’t want to deal with Lyft if I wanna get around DISNEY and I don’t want to use the bus I’ll use a taxi 🚕 I’ve done it several times

I use Uber for work trips. We have used Uber on occasion but it's too expensive to me. We chose an Uber once at MCO to go to Bay Lake Towers right before the ME shut down. We booked ME but when we landed at MCO the line stretched to the opposite end of the airport. We did use ME to come home. At our local airport they have Z-trip taxi and it's a flat $8 to bring us home not including a generous tip.

I have never used that kind of service. I used Orlando Magical Rides service a year ago when I did my solo Disneyworld trip. I was very nervous to get into the car with a stranger, but both drivers (to my resort, and back to the airport) were very nice. I would use that service again. We may use an Uber or Lyft in January, as we have a cruise booked from Miami.

I/we use Uber or Lyft when traveling a lot. We've also used Freenow in Ireland and Bolt in Hungary, and local taxi service in Austria. We live in the middle of nowhere, so don't really use it around home - but when we travel we do a lot. It's so simple, easy & convenient! Plus when we travel is when we are usually out and about and enjoying a few drinks, so a car service is perfect for that.

I've never used any of those listed and I doubt there is availability in my area. We did hire drivers with vans when I was growing up, but they were personal and area specific to the needs of the community.

We have used them and may again, but we’ve had enough less-than-positive experiences that we avoid it when we can. We much prefer good, old-fashioned, licensed and regulated taxi cabs. Never a bad experience there. We just returned from the UK and riding with the London cabbies was a hoot!

We use them when we travel....Uber and Lyft. My son, who is at college, uses them fairly often when he and his friends go out on the weekend.

We use Uber when we travel. I used them four or five times last week on a business trip - to/from the airport and a couple other times for dinners. Have used them in other countries as well - in Ireland, Uber was connected to the licensed taxis, so that was unique.

I only use it when I travel. I prefer Lyft, but used Uber in PAris since Lyft doesn't operate there.
