I posted this in another thread, but felt that others may not see it so I'm reposting it here. My comments are meant to share my experience with you all and then.. to ask your opinion.

Frist, I own 2 pairs of the Payless knock-off Crocs. They are great. Nice fitting and comfy.

At the end of last week, I ordered an original pair (in butter) from the CROC website. They were delivered to me today and they are already on my feet :sunny:

Now, here is what I have to say about my experience.

1) Dealing with the CROC website was swift and efficient.

2) The original CROCS are a wee bit more cushiony than the Payless Airwalks. I can feel a slightly thicker padding under my feet with each step.

3) I ordered "butter" but am not truly happy with the color. I expected the shoes to be close to the CROC website color (a creamier color). I asked my Mom what color she thought my shoes were and she said "yellow". I think so too. They are not crayola yellow, but definitely yellow (imo).

Here is a pic of my CROCS (in butter):

... and here is the pic from their website:

What do you all think? I love them and am definitely keeping them... just wonder if the color is a bit off from the sample shoe?

I dont' think the colors are similar at all....I'd be frustrated if I was matching the website color to an outfit...

I agree :guilty: In fact, the digipic of mine is a little washed out. The color is a more intense *yellow-ish* in person.

The color is way off! I have looked at the Crocs site and thought if I got a pair in a color instead of black, I would get the ones you got. Now that I've seen them, I've changed my mind.

I agree, the color is def. off. IMHO, it's actually closer to a pea green color :confused3

I agree, they are a bit brighter than I would have expected. From my experience, however, you're never gonna get a true color sample on a website. There is too much variation in color settings of monitors, I suppose. If you're ordering online you're always sorta taking a chance, IMO.

I think they are a great color, though! :)

Well, I definitely think there is a big difference. But funny thing, the reason I DIDN"T get that color is because I thought it was too creamy. I love yellow and have lots of yellow T's. I just got MY first pair of CROCS in the mail yesterday!!!!!!!!!! Love em love em love em!!! But decided I wanted to order the yellow. It's a little bright, so now at least I have a question answered. I was looking at the picture wondering if they were yellow ENOUGH for me!!! LOL Now I have a decision, bright, or more subdued!!!!

BTW, I got the emerald green. Very pretty.

I can understand a difference in monitors, but (and this is jmo) the colors are pretty far apart.

I think if I were buying them to match a specific outfit (like Zurgswife mentioned) I'd be more upset. As it is, they are just casuals for me to wear (not to go with any one outfit).

What I'm curious about is... are the other colors running more true? I'm curious about the khaki and some of the others. What if the khaki is actually more grey?

I agree, the colors are way off. It's hard to match colors but that is way different. I didn't know if I'd be able to get the 'real' CROCS as I couldn't find them anywhere and was getting close to ordering them. I went to Payless and got the pink & blue knock offs, haven't worn them yet. However, there is a new REI store and we went in last night...they had CROCS! I actually had wanted the 'butter'/yellow but they didn't have them. I got the emerald green but haven't checked the website to see if the color is accurate.

Maxaroni, I'd love to see a pic of your emerald green ones (if you can.. if not I understand :) ) I'm curious to know if you feel they are close to the website sample.

Not the same color at all...yours seems to be a greenish yellow too.

I can also tell you too, that the sizing isn't consistent from one pair to another. My purple ones are smaller than my pink ones. If anyone can try them on and they seem small, ask for another pair to try. DD has a pair of purple and hers are a tad smaller than mine too. I bought the two purple ones at the same time. I love them though!!

Dh's khaki ones are a pretty true khaki. I got the sage green and love the color..seemed to be pretty close to the website color. But, I did have a pair of the butter in my hands at a Filene's here. And they were much closer in color to the website butter than your shoes seem. They were a really pretty color..not garish at all. Maybe something went dreadfully wrong with your batch.

It is so hard to tell the color on the internet.

I know, the person I live with, is often dissapointed in the shade of things.
I wanted her to get Yellow crocs to match my feet, but she choose pink instead.
Then she complained that they were not as light a pink as she wanted, and that the particular shade of pink had a slight orange tint that clashed with much of her wardrobe.
She does think that they are comfortable, and is considering ordering more colors (maybe she will order yellow :-).

She ordered from a site with free shipping called extreme footware.

I like the color.

I know where I work, our pics on line and catalog 3 out of 10 times are not even close to the TRUE color.

Many times it's your moitor, could be lighting for the photo, could be the touch up job, or the pic on the web could be some sort of "protoype" photo.

I believe if I order Crocs, I will try placing the order over the phone, then I can ask the person I talk to about true colors.

Our website won't offer details about "true" colors, but in our product rollouts we make sure the CSR's know to inform the customer before ordering the product. But to be safe I would ask.

I agree, quite a difference in color. In general I think the images on Crocs web site don't accurately reflect the true color of the shoes. When DIS'ers have posted photos of their Crocs I've thought that the photos made the colors look more realistic and more attractive than the Crocs web site does.

WHICH ONE!!!! i'm in central mass too and dying to try these on!

Okay, so that is what the company considers butter?? I was in Gatlinburg this weekend and found a store FULL of crocs. I wanted to get pink and butter. But, they didn't have what I thought of as butter. They had bright yellow and a mustardy color. The mustardy color are the ones that you posted. I bought pink and purple.

I actually bought a pair of butter crocs today! I love them!

I didn't like the way the butter ones looked on the website - it was more like "cream." However, when I saw them in the store, I thought they were very, very pretty. Sort of the color of a yellow post-it or scrambled eggs... :rotfl2:

I found the sizing to be a bit off. I wear a size 8 in shoes. I tried on the Medium (what is suggested for a size 8) but they were too big. The smalls are perfect for me.

And...they are sooo comfy! Can't wait to wear them to the parks.

Hmmm... I looked at this post at work and at home and the colors look completely different between the 2 computers.

Sorry, I know that doesn't help you but I thought it was interesting.

Not a problem...let's just see if I'm doing this right as I've never done it before.... :confused3
