I'm just trying to find out everything that will be provided for me in a 1 bedroom at OKW for a party of 5.

Website would be nice??

example:
How many towels
soap
shampoo
blow dryer etc..etc...

Here are how many towels you will receive
4 bath towels, 4 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
Extra towel pacakges are $6.00

The others I don't really remember but I do want to say one hairdryer, 2 shampoos (maybe 1) and a soap for the shower and each bathroom sink.

Why are you calling MS with this question? You are a renter. Why don't you call the person you are renting from if you want this information?

Are you a member? Those items are listed in the Member Guide and also on the website.
I dont have it handy or I would list what it says.
From what I've read, you will have towels for 4 people. A starter of soap and shampoo and a blow dryer. Trash bags, cutlery, dishes, diswashing liquid and a starter box of Tide. No dryer sheets, coffee filters, or toothpaste.
HTH

If you are a DVC member, then you most likely know how to access the web site. Plus you probably have the info in your planning guide.

Why does it matter?

You will receive the following:
Toiletries Starter Pack
Coffee Starter Pack
Towel Pack
Laundry Detergent Starter Pack

Most of these items are really only about a one time use and will be replenished on Trash & Towel Service day. Just to be safe, you should probably bring your own toiletry items if you will be there for more than a few days.

The villa does include a blow dryer.

Because as an owner I pay for every call made to MS. Furthermore, every unnecessary call to MS clogs the line for legitimate inquiries. Just my opinion, but this was a very unnecessary call to MS.

LOL... sure whatever....

Thank you everyone for you help. I was also able to get a list from MS faxed to me.

For those who feel i wrong to call MS get over it I'll be paying fees myself soon enough...HEHE

:grouphug: :p

Doc, your dues as a member are based on the amount of pts you own--a renter rents pts that someone has paid dues on, so there is no need to react so harshly to the OP's question, assuming he did not repeatedly call MS. It's the same question we all had the first time we stayed in a one bedroom. Personally, I would be more irate at MEMBERS who repeatedly use MS to make and cancel reservations throughout the year, holding onto reservations while trying to decide if they really even want to go. That type of behavior takes up MS time and effort for no reason, and increases my dues. Besides, it's selfish.

Since you have decided to get nasty, I, too, will get nasty. The OP did NOT ask what the 1BR would be stocked with (as in kitchen items) which is a common question and one that is not readily answerable. The question was about how many towels and soaps. Big difference, IMHO. Perhaps I am out on an island here, but I am willing to take the heat. Member services is just that. According to our contract, MS should not be doing anything in support of the rental activities of DVC members. Answering basic questions that the member should answer for renters is ridiculous. I can understand the need for a renter to make a short call to confirm that they indeed have a reservation or (grudgingly, I must say) to make ME arrangements since there is no real way to expect the member to do this. But, to give renters full access to the resources of MS agents (especially since it is a toll-free call as compared to the usual Disney reservation numbers, dining numbers, etc.) is ridiculous, costly, and inconsistent with any membership advantages. From what I have read, DVC is pretty unique in treating renters and nonowners with equal status to owners on a lot of these dimensions. BTW, I wouldn't have a problem if the OP called the resort directly and paid for it with their own dime. This simply was not a question that required the resources of MS.

Wow, you must have had a bad week at work! Sending you pixiedust: you sound like you can use it! ;)

I just don't like people taking advantage of me, and people who mooch off of other people. The increased difficulty getting through to MS is not going to improve with the apparent increase in extra calls being made by renters and nonowners (and their, in some cases, irresponsible "take the money and run" owners) leeching off the resources paid for by owners. I'm waiting for someone to say that they give their renters access to the member website, too. Though it sounds selfish, the analogy I would draw is to squatting on one's property. Unless one defends oneself, one can lose their property. Whether you and others want to admit it or not, costs are being imposed on members by these things.

There is a DVC member website. :confused3 Also you can find info in our member handbook thing. Basicly it's one hairdryer and towels, soap, for 4 people. You don't get any extra sheets, towels, pillows, etc for the 5th person. Also, the soaps and shampoos are really tiny and not good quality, I would bring your own. Also bring extra laundry detergent, the box is really small.

Sorry, just read that you were a renter.
I'm surprised to admit it, but I sort of agree with DoctorP on this. Nothing personal, DoctorP! :) I didn't even realize that non-DVC owners could call MS and ask questions like that. It IS hard some mornings to get through to MS, and I assume our dues pay in some part for this. I'm surprised more members are not upset by this. I mean people get crazy when someone even suggests that MS should be open on the weekend! :rotfl2:

I'd suggest providing renters with the 407 number listed on our member card. Any time I rented to someone, that's the number I gave them if they asked for a phone number. Never had any questions from anyone on it.

My only hesitation is that I have always found the direct 407 (non toll free number) to be easier to get through during busy times than the 800 number. If everyone starts calling it, it won't be anymore.

I agree with your whole quote, including the last part, LOL. :)

I still maintain that Members abusing MS is a far worse problem than having the OP calling them about the number of towels in their room.A majority of the calls to MS are from a small minority of members who repeatedly make and cancel reservations. A renter SHOULD get his info from the owner of the points, but I don't want my dues to go toward an owner who uses MS to get a "vacation high" when he/she has no real intention of using the reservations that were just made. I don't care if they are members or not, they shouldn't monopolize MS. Why would a member need to talk to MS more than 30 or 40 times per year? :confused3
