going to disney&uni again! Sep 2011

He *loves* dancing to dance music. And the older he gets, the better he's getting at it!

E and I took a nap today. E is still going, actually. This is relatively unheard of for us, and usually only occurs when there's impending or current illness. As you said the other day, at least it gets it out of the way for the trip, right? And hey, maybe it's a growth spurt for him? He wanted to lie down and have me read, so I was reading Harry Potter 3, and I just got soooooooooo sleeeeeeepyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Got up before I wanted to b/c I didn't have my phone on me, and usually Robert would have tried to contact me repeatedly and would be getting highly worried...but he's been so busy with meetings he isn't even yet on the train home!

We got our "chill it" towels; the other brand than "frogg toggs". They seem decent. We're just getting so much in the mail right now! The fun part of the trip planning. :)

At the company picnic yesterday, we caught a RARE glimpse of the Head Honcho (we've never seen him at the picnic or winter party), and what was awesome is that he recognized Robert and even spoke to him, remembering his name! (OK, almost...he called him Bob, but then Robert is ALWAYS being called Rob and Bob, so that's OK) It was soooooooo cool. :3dglasses

I hope it is a growth spurt with E, it's no fun to be sick in the summer.

I think that is major that the big boss remembered Robert. The fact that he thought of him as Bob but was able to catch it is great!! That means that Robert is being noticed and in a good way. Nicknames are a nice familiar compliment. Or at least I think so.

Kacy our oldest LOVES Amazon right now. She has a Pell Grant so she has budget, she was able to go on Amazon today and order her books for $100 less than if she had bought them at the college bookstore and they will be here on Wednesday. She was just commenting on Twitter how wonderful Amazon is!! Another satisfied customer!!:goodvibes

I'm so jealous of the savings that today's college students can get, because of online buying! We had absolutely no choice but to buy them from the campus bookstore. I'm really glad she got her books at a discount. :)

Well E woke up drowsy, but seems to be fine. Maybe it was just the bit of sun we got; he got the tiniest line of sunburn at his neck.

I love that Robert has met the man in charge. Just love it!

Oh if I spend time enough in the sun to burn I am tired enough to nap too.

You know I am totally jealous too. Had I not helped her to find her books on Amazon she would have not had enough money. As was she now has over $80 left for supplies and then in November she gets another $450. I kind of like how they split up the Pell Grant money now that way it isn't all spent before she needs it.

Stupid new bathing suit. Yeah, sure, it fits, but I feel awful in it. Dagnabit. Never getting the belly-sucking type of suit again; would rather have my tum bounce around than have it wrapped in a girdle.

On the other hand, I'm far less likely to lose track of "the girls" in this suit since it's actually reining them in. :rotfl:

I think that all swimsuits come with that darn girdle. My cups on mine feel as though they are running over. Scotty loves it, I on the other hand it hate it!!:rotfl:

You know you're excited about an upcoming trip when the laundry system has failed altogether, the hampers are empty, and you have to *walk on* a thick layer of clothes just to get into the laundry room.

Whoops.

Gotta get the laundry fairy back in gear!

Boy isn't that the truth. I get so wrapped up in my excitement and last minute planning that I let things slide.

Happy Anniversary to me.... I got R some coffee that's roasted in Alaska; we got some on our cruise and he has fond feelings about it. He'd also found a refurb laptop that he says is better and much *lighter* than his Dell, and it was at a great price (and came in just after we got our stock grant check). He doesn't *know* that I ordered it, and it's slated to be delivered today...great timing! E wants to make him/us a card, too. :)

Now, all this means that I'll get nothing, of course, because that's the way it goes! :rotfl:

Happy anniversary!!

I was our anniversary yesterday, we have been married 19 years. It seems like yesterday.

How sweet of E, and that sounds like a good way to spend some time.

H.A. to you, too! I knew it was right around in there.

Did you ever decide what you'll be doing next year for it?

Well, I am actually kind of thinking maybe a family vacation in Disneyland. We will have this year graduation, next years graduation and our 20th anniversary. I think that a big family celebration would be fun.

That sounds awesome! Since you guys started your family so quickly, as we did as well, it's not like you were ever used to "alone time", LOL. So what better than to have a family celebration?

Plus you're not gambling that you'll like it. Gambling is for less important vacations. :)

I still do hope you get out to WDW and/or on a cruise (or was that Shannon thinking of a cruise?), though!

Actually it was me.

I just got to thinking that this is huge and it is what I want to do.

Well I think it's a great choice!

I got something after all! For all these years, Robert's been saying "I'll save a little bit of my "fun money" and buy you something". He had to resort to that after I was put in charge of the money because if he says "I'm going to take x amount out for a gift for you, I will say 'I don't want a gift, no please don't, please please please'". And before I was put in charge, well, there was no extra, LOL.

I truly thought I was getting nothing (E made a card for Robert, but not me! he said "you're on there because I wrote 'Hi Papa, Happy Anniversary to one of my favorite people', and you're the other favorite".) and I was totally OK with it! Uh, well, 99.99999% OK, but that tiny little percentage wasn't going to ruin my day.

So I picked him up after the Y and he tells me that he'd been saving up little bits for 8 months, and he didn't buy me anything, but here's the money he saved! And...it was enough for fun coffee drinks and a little dinner that E picked out and we made at home. Considering we only get $25 per month for each of us in "fun" money...that was pretty good! It was awesome. :goodvibes:lovestruc

I was thinking WDW - Michele was thinking cruise. :thumbsup2

Happy Anniversary to Molly and Robert AND Michele and Scotty! :lovestruc I hope you both had really nice days.

I am finally able to check my email after a couple of very hairy weeks. My parents came into town, my oldest got married and we had some family things planned. The good news is that my whole family was together - it hasn't happened in about 5 years. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters and between us we have 18 kids. We live in different states and of course everyone has a lot going on. I hope the pictures of everyone together turn out.

I am sooooo glad that all of this wedding stuff is OVER! I was getting so overwhelmed. BUT, now I am relaxing for another day and then I have to gear up for school starting on Weds. next week. :scared1: I wonder where the summer went??? :beach:

How fabulous that I got things exactly opposite. :3dglasses

Congrats on having the wedding! There was a YMCA mom whose oldest is getting married and she chatted while our boys had their swim lessons (she is my hero, having her younger boy well into her 40s), and omg has she been STRESSED! She's not the biggest fan of the new in laws, and she wishes her son had waited...she and her husband married right out of college, so the youth isn't what's bugging her, but just the fact that they are still *going to* college... And there are religious issues; her family is Catholic and her new daughter in law's family is Jewish, there are family tradition issues, there are money-available-to-contribute issues, there are communication issues....oh the poor lady!

And then in the meantime, she's been having regular appointments with her plastic surgeon so she looks fabulous, and she does! It was interesting to watch her face change; and if I ever decide to do botox (or beyond) I'm going to her guy, because she still looks 50ish, just a FABULOUS 50ish.

Anyway, I think that the one thing harder than being the family of the bride is being family of the groom, because SO MUCH is out of your control/hands.

Shannon, so there's 6 of you and you have 18 kids between you...while there are 5 of us, and just 1 kid! Maybe once my half-sis becomes an adult and marries she'll present me with a niece or nephew...I don't think my half-brothers are going to contribute to that anytime soon! Of course, half-sis is just 15/16, so....maybe her brothers will get their acts together in that time. One can only hope! I'd like to be an aunt on MY side of the family!

Thank you Shannon.

I am glad that you are through the wedding stress. How nice to have the whole family there. Was the wedding beautiful?

And you know what I was both. I was waffling. Now I am set on Disneyland for our next trip.

Molly, I think that anyone that has a baby in their 40's rocks. I had Loren when I was 34 so I have a small idea of what it is like.

And botox scares me to death!!:scared1:

I was 34 when I had E. So yeah, I know of what you speak. :headache:

The thought of babies now'ish is scary (I try to not do the math, LOL), but I think of getting to 55 and being done, and thinking back to "the day we stopped trying" and just wanting to sob... And I see how great my half-sis has been for the family and how young my stepmom still seems (she was 41ish then).

Oh gracious the pre-trip purchases are getting just a wee bit overwhelming! Planned and needed, but overwhelming. Discovered today that E is now a size 2 in his schmancy athletic shoes. After he got new shoes, he was able to tell me how uncomfortable his feet had been...dude, ya gotta tell me! Can't know to buy new shoes unless you tell me you need new shoes...:teacher:

Loren used to do that. I had no idea that his shoes were getting small. Kids are so darn funny.

I think babies are wonderful. I considered having another baby when Loren started school I was 39 years old at the time. I still kind of wish I had done it but with the three kids we have enough.
