going to disney&uni again! Sep 2011

Oh goodness.

Reminds me of a post a while back from someone who was pulling her kids out to homeschool them, and got major attitude from the teachers that loved having her daughter there to bring up scores.

Fight the good fight! Take lots of Rescue Remedy to keep calm. :)

I don't mind her going to continuation school, I just mind her having to stay on the campus of the school that she is making herself sick over. I am angry because the school just doesn't seem to want to work with me. I will fight the good fight!! Thank you!!

Trubydoo!

So you'd really think the schools would try to *help*, not hinder. (of course I know perfectly well from my own experience that this is not true, but a good part of my head does actually exist in "everyone follows my logic, everything is wondrous, everyone behaves as I think they should" land, so...)

It's always interesting to compare my countdown (for when we leave home) and the ticker which counts to when we actually go to the parks. Also interesting that "less than 20 days" means 19 days, 21 hours, etc etc. :)

I know. I keep thinking that myself. I am so frustrated.

So has school started already? Or is this leftover stuff from last year that you're trying to get worked out before it starts this year?

And how is your son's leg, now that I'm thinking about your kids? All healed up and perfectly fine, I hope?

Amaing rate drop on rental cars this evening, brought it down by another $117. Will have to pick it up the evening we get in, which is the evening we're staying at the in-the-airport Hyatt, so we get to pay a night's parking fee, but that is still A-OK!

Right now we're debating the various ways to get us to the airport here.

There's...

Pay for a shuttle and go the morning of the flight.

Pay for a shuttle the day before to get us to a hotel with free shuttles to the airport, and stay right there.

Drive the car up on Sunday to stay at a near-airport hotel, have one adult take the car back home and then take the bus BACK up. [The problem with that one is that it requires the opposite (or more likely, all of us taking the bus to Tacoma) when we get home, which will be at around 11pm. Not so fun.]

Drive car up, take back, bus back up...and when we get home, stay at another hotel that night, to delay the home process for the next day.

Drive car up, stay at a hotel with a park 'n fly deal!

Drive car up, stay at a hotel with a park 'n fly deal, then stay the night we get back, too, up there, to continue our little vacation and not make anyone drive home while drowsy.

Whew! Complicating matters, or maybe simplifying, is that the hotels would only be chosen from one of two that have park/fly deals on the booking site we use, because we have two free nights available to use.

Typing it all out...obviously the park 'n fly deal would be best, as would staying over on the night we get back as well (and that one doesn't even have to be park 'n fly).

Well that was easy.

This is something I have been trying to get going for a while with the school. But yes they are back in school.

His leg is better he has a nasty scar on it because he ended up being allergic to the sutures and it wasn't healing because of it. I took him back to the dr and he gave him a green light, said let it run it's course. A month later it reopened and stitches thread came out. Poor guy. It still is sore from time to time.

I like the idea of a park/fly hotel. Then you aren't quite as exhausted when you get home.

Allergic to the sutures, poor thing! I don't think I ever heard of that. Interesting. Though I wish I hadn't heard about it, because hearing about it was b/c he experienced it...you know what I'm saying. :)

I have never seen anything like it. One day after it had healed all but one section he said there's something sticking out and he pulled it out on his own and it was was the suture thread. After that piece came out he completely healed. It was odd to say the least.

Very weird! And I'm thinking that you did tell me (my brain is swiss cheese) b/c that sounds familiar.

The Tooth Fairy doesn't have to contract out to Tinkerbell during our trip because E's loose tooth just came out. And thank goodness, because Tink has that Union backing her up, and charges a premium!

I think that it is a shame that the tooth fairy and Tinkerbell can't get past those contract times. Sometimes those unions fight about the smallest things.

I know. I mean, I don't think it's fair that the TF has to give her normal golden coins AND a harry potter minifig keychain just because the tooth is lost on property. I mean, really?

It must have something to do with the perpetually striking PPH workers. Yeah, that's the ticket.

And speaking of tickets, I just spent a lot of money all at once, buying the tickets and the one AP for Universal. Ay ay ay. And soon there will be more, as le cousin has OK'd the Halloween partay. Woo!

And, most cute about that? Her son is going to go as Harry Potter! So we'll have two Universal ride characters there, since E will be "Agent E". I love it! It's like anarchy in miniature or something silly like that.

Her daughter, however, will be a lovely little Tinkerbell. :wizard:

Oh you guys are going to have some real cuties for the Halloween party!! How fun for the kids. I love seeing all the kids on Halloween in their costumes and how excited they get.

I just read through the last 3 pages - I was that far behind! :3dglasses

I can't believe your trip is so close! I love the park/fly option too, since after a trip like that you'll be kind of wiped out. And the Halloween party sounds like so much fun.

Got the hotels pre-and-post worked out. With hotels.com they give you a credit of the previous ten nights you booked with them, so we had one credit higher than the other. You have to pay the taxes, and then if you stay at a hotel with a base rate *lower* than your "free" night, you don't get change (very much like the Disneyland dining plan, LOL), but if you stay at a hotel with a higher base rate than the night you're using, you pay the difference and the tax of course.

So "free" nights aren't free, but it gave us two nights (one before, one the evening we get in), and all the parking in between for under half the price that just parking would have been*, and it's hard to say that'll be a waste! (I really hate taking the shuttles up here...supershuttle in so cal might kinda suck, but shuttleexpress here is just bleah in its own particular way)

It's all getting worked out! The guys are being ebullient in their "I can't waits!", and their excitement makes it hard for me (because I'm completely weird) to join along, but I do get a big grin when I think about it. If it weren't for picture-management, and the concept that we might switch dining along the way and I liked doing that online, I would actually leave the computer behind, just to give me zone-time.

*and it gives us 45 minutes more sleep-in time if we drove up and parked at the airport, which we wouldn't do b/c of the highway robbery they charge, so then 1+ more sleep-hours if we parked offsite, and nearly 2 hours of more sleep time than if we were picked up by a shuttle! Sleep is goooooood.
