I will be going to WDW January 24-28, 2006!! But, I won't be able to spend much, if any, time in the parks. But I'm still excited!

Last week, the children's minister at my church asked if I'd like to go to a conference on children's ministry in January. As she told me about it, I thought it sounded really interesting, as I do a lot of volunteering with my church's children. Then she says, "Oh, and it's at Disney this year." WHAT?!?!

Yep, it at Coronado Springs Resort! My arrival day will be my only truly free day. Our children's minister has never been to WDW! I told her we need to go to the MK that day. She's a grandmother several times over & has never been. I told her she needs that magical experience. At the very least, we'll spend the day in Downtown Disney and then have dinner at O'hana. Other days we have 2-1/2 hours for lunch and then 2-1/2 hours of "free" time in the afternoon, but not a big enough chunk to do the parks.

Anyway, even if I don't get to spend time in the park, it will be wonderful just to be there. I'm planning to go to one seminar which includes a 90 minute presentation at the Disney Institute (didn't know it still existed) and then a tour of four different Disney resorts (don't know which ones). That should be a really neat experience too.

Just wanted to share, 'cause I can't wait!

There was another DISER that posted last week going in January, staying at CSR, and going for a church group type activitiy. Maybe you'll both be going to the same event.

Don't forget to check out the Who's Going In January thread.

Wow...how fun!!! I do 3rd-5th grade Sunday School teaching every week and Junior Church once or twice a month. I called my children's minister to ask her about it. She wasn't there....I know we won't go, but that sounds so awesome!!! I think I would have to go a day earlier or stay a day later just to fit in a whole day at the park! Have fun!!!

I don't know if you would be interested but there are "AFTER 2 o'clock CONVENTION" tickets you might want to take advantage of. I am not sure of the actual price but i am sure it is substantially lower than the regular price

how cool! our church was part of the national youth gathering at wdw in '04 and will be again in '07... may i ask what denomination you are? i am also a christian youth worker...

Hello fellow youth workers. My husband is the Youth Director at our church. We are not full time - just lay people. WOndering what national Youth gathering you are talking about in "07. Any info would be great. Our Youth group is ages 7th-12th grade.

gigi1313, I am Baptist, but this conference, the Children's Pastors' Conference, is multi-denominational. Even though the title says "pastors'" it is for anyone who works in any area of children's ministry, up through pre-teens, I believe. Some big names in Christian children's ministry will be there -- Miss Pattycake, Lisa Whelchel (Blair from "The Facts of Life"), Babby Mason, Go Fish, and many speakers/authors.

I had no idea about the after 2 convention tickets! I am going to wait for the January hours to be posted to see if I could do that some days. Most days, we are scheduled with meetings until after dinner. My family is planning a trip to WDW next October. I was planning on getting one AP for the room discount and DDE, so I may just get it early & have in case I get to go to the park this trip. May go ahead & get DDE too.

The opportunity to go to my favorite place and learn more about my favorite area of ministry is awesome! Thanks for sharing my excitement!
