Gnomies Gone Wild

Oh Jen that's so awesome!! We knew it would work out for you and Philip! It's so funny, because whenever something is happening to one of us we freak out and all the gnomies say, it's ok, it'll work out, and it does! But I hate doing the freaking out on the flipside, but the gnomies always make me feel better! So happy for you!

On my flipside, my boss finally called and I am official to start my FULL TIME job on Oct 12th! He said it was going to be tight at first, but one of his employees is moving on and her last day is this friday and we're moving in this saturday! Couldn't be more perfect timing! But I asked if it would be ok if I took an extra 2 weeks to finish my labwork and thankfully he was alright with it! So I'll be a transient and living with a friend for 2 weeks and thankfully that will be enough time for me to finish, cross your fingers for me!

Sounds like the new house is treating you well Julez!
Jen and C, you're so close to your trip now!!
MM-She's still on her trip right?
P-Glad the "stayover" went well! ;)
LL-Good luck back to work! When we move, I'll totally have the time to start reading again...I am STILL trying to finish Jane Eyre from the end of July.
Stace-Any news on Stace lately!? We miss you!

Morning, Gnomies!

Well, it is so bad here in NW Georgia from the flooding that our governor is asking that a state of emergency be declared. School systems all around us are out today (not us, of course), and parts of interstates are closed as the rivers flood them. It's pretty nasty.

LL, doesn't Deliverance Dane just suck you in??? I finished The Other Boleyn Girl last night -- what other Philippa Gregory books did you like?

Where did you order your Toy Story tickets from? I need to go do that!

Fandango.com is where I ordered them.

My favorite Phillippa Gregory book is The Constant Princess which is about Queen Katherine. I loved it! Wasn't The Other Boleyn Girl wonderful? I adore that book. Yes, Deliverance Dane has sucked me in. I keep debating if I want to go out and run errands or just sit home and read. :lmao:

I loved The Other Boleyn Girl -- especially after Mary met William!

I was reading the description of The Constant Princess and thought it sounded good. I will have to see if our library has it.

Did you read the one about Queen Elizabeth and Robert Dudley? I thought that looked good as well (I don't know if I am allowed to type the title on the DIS.)

I vote for staying home and reading.

I haven't read that one yet. I was reading them in chronological order cause that is how OCD I am and I got stuck on the Queen's Fool. I think I burnt myself out on that time period so now I am jumping around through the centuries. :rotfl2:

:lmao: You are too funny! I am trying not to really start another book until I get organized for my trip, but I don't think that is going to happen. I am already feeling at a loss...

Thanks Gnomies for all your reassurances!! It really makes the difference!!

CP...stay safe out there with all that rain and flooding!!!! Too bad you guys didn't get a day off LOL!!! How is school going for you today??

So happy for you and the job situation Jess!! YAY!!!

Hmmm...books must find time for books...I"m still contemplating heading to Barnes and Noble and getting a book on CD for my trip to and from Orlando LOL!

Gnomies!

How goes it this fine Tuesday evening?

CP- all that flooding has me worried. And of course every school but yours was closed. :sad2: That will be a good thing come June!

Jen- sorry I wasn't around for the drama. So glad it worked out OK. :goodvibes

Katie- sounds like you've been doing quite a bit of subbing. That's great! :thumbsup2

Paula- glad you survived. Now rest up b/c we have some partying of our own to do! :woohoo:

LL- look at you Ms. Proactive and ordering your TS 3D tix. I've never tried ordering movie tix ahead of time. How does it work? Do they get mailed to you or you pick them up at the box office?

Julez- sounds like you are enjoying the new house. That's great. And happy early birthday!! :)

Jess- sounds like things are coming together on the move and the thesis. Hang in there!! :)

I just go and show my debit card that I used to purchase them and they give me the tickets. They even have little kiosks that you can do it yourself but at my movie theater they hardly work so I just go directly to the box office!

Can you tell I don't get out much?

:lmao: I really don't either. I just usually buy Harry Potter tickets that way so I'm sure to get tickets on the first weekend. :thumbsup2

Oh, Mr. Potter! I still have to make my way over to the Universal press release and video to see what they have in store for the Harry Potter stuff! Have you seen it yet? Does it look good?

I have not seen it. Honestly, I'm kinda looking forward to be surprised whenever I make my way over there. Which is totally unlike me. :lmao:

CP, I just finished Deliverance Dane. We are so adding Salem to The New England History Tour. It was so good. :cloud9: Now I have to pick my next book out of the 10 or so I haven't read yet sitting on my bookshelf. :rolleyes1

Wasn't it great? I just loved it and now I really, really, really want to go to Salem.

I scored big at the library today -- The Lace Reader (modern-day witches in Salem), South of Broad (the new Pat Conroy) and The White Queen (the new Philippa Gregory). I had good book mojo today.

I just left a link for you on your Wall on Facebook. Eeeee! I am so excited.

The author is doing a bunch of book signings around here...I might have to go to one!

I saw that! I was bouncing in my seat in excitement!

You should totally go to an author signing -- that would be so neat!

I really really liked the book, thanks for the suggestion. Now I need to plan a trip to Salem!

I don't know if I'm going to read The Lace Reader next or The 19th Wife. I can't decide.

You are very welcome! Thanks for all the great suggestions you have made to me! :goodvibes

I am having to read South of Broad because it is a one-week loan since it is brand-new and popular. I really can't wait to read The Lace Reader.

Did you see that Vera has new patterns? I really, really like the one called Paprika. :rolleyes1
