Good morning and happy sunday!

Cheryl I agree with Jill or I know people don't always like to give gift certs but I know at least my kids LOVE to get these. Maybe one to Barnes and Noble or to Target. That way he can get some books or CDS. The girls love them but esp Lynn. That way she can have the freedom to shop and get whatever she wants. Just a thought.

LOL--great minds. I actually had gotten both he and his sister a gift cert. to Barnes & Noble--but then I was in Target yesterday and saw this "New Moon" game that I also got for his sister. And now I have to come up with something a little extra to give him so he doesn't feel slighted.

OMG Brittany Murphy dead! That is nuts! I just read this. WOW!

Drive by HI:wizard:

Jill, I love your D&B purse, very cute. I might have to have one, too.

Capri - I hope your dad is ok and resting comfortably.

I thought about Dawn and her family all day. It was really a melancholy day for me.

Bree went to Magic Mtn will three friends today (I had free tix). Hope she had fun. I don't like it there.

I'm making crab legs with steamed asparagus and garlic toast for dinner. With a glass of chardonnay, of course.;)

The it's 60 Minutes and the Suvivor Finale. I can't wait!

Have a nice evening everyone. I guess this is a long drive by...

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday evening.

We went to church, ate at Mimi's, and came home. I walked the dog for 45 minutes and pretty soon we'll be making the cookie batters for tomorrow's tradition day!

Bye!

I completely forgot. Thanks to Cristabel I saw the Monkey Bride!

I didn't watch all season, but I've got it on while I go through coupons and newspapers before the MIL comes in a few days. Curious to see what you guys think. Crab legs - ooh, very adventurous (that's one thing I love but have never cooked).

I completely forgot. Thanks to Cristabel I saw the Monkey Bride!

I also need to go to a bookstore to buy an Artist's magazine because I'm giving my Mom a subscription.

!

Nice!

I did a couple of things I had never done before. I went on Star Tours and enjoyed it. :)

Steph

Does that mean you've gone on it before but never enjoyed it? They're finally going to change that movie, so good thing you got your old school ride in.

I didn't even know there was a melting pot in Thousand Oaks!! That is WAY closer to me than the one in Santa Barbara. Will have to convince my DH to take me there sometime soon (I've never been, but heard good things about it).

We're just having a lazy Saturday today. We watched Ratatouille this morning,!

That's a good movie.

All of you thinking of going to Melting Pot - I saw a coupon for it somewhere - not sure if it was entertainment.com It is pricey -

"Santa" is bring Wii TSM...I can't wait to try it. Like you...I should dust off my WiiFit and get in shape ;)
...

Okay, starting the New Year, those of us with wii fits getting dusty are going to dust them off.

Good morning ladies!!

My computer cord died Thursday night so I was without a computer almost all Friday. I was having major DIS withdrawls.

My son was tinkering with it last night and got it work. I hope it lasts awhile until I can get a replacement. I just wanted to post & check what was new just in case it dies again.
:.

Katie, this year both my 2001 Mac desktop and my 2001 Mac Powerbook crashed- died and took years of email and stuff. I took the Powerbook to a repair place in Pasadena where for something like $90 they put a new hard drive in.

Enjoy!! What do you order there?? We have one less than five minutes from my house and we've never been because I don't know what it ir or what to order.

The one here will only let you order a few ways: expensive and more expensive. They won't let you share one order, you have to order a lot of food (I remember 3 or 4 courses but Vicki can fill us in) and pay per person. It is yummy, I have been there once. You get meats and veggies and you cook them in a pot yourself. Women like this place better than men, who tend to think it's a lot of work. I saw a coupon somewhere, maybe on entertainment.com? It's about $60-75-100 for a couple without any drinks.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

We're still awake over here! We're supposed to leave in 2 hours so I think we're just going to sleep on the way to my grandma's house and settle in there. Right now my dog is really active in her crate, like she's fully awake!

Morning and happy monday!

Only a few more days till Santa!! :)

First off I won't say for people like Callie who can't watch survivor till later but :scared1::eek: but then :woohoo::banana:. For those of you who watched you will get that "code". ;) What a GREAT last show and the best word I can say is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am REALLY excited about the next one. It sounds AWESOME and right up my alley. Plus American Idol starts in a few weeks and Lost in Feb too. LOTS of good telly soon!! Woo Hoo!!! :)

Anyway yesterday was a good day. Shane was at his side job all day but unfortunately it was one where he won't get paid anything. It is a long story but it is one he did over a year ago and he claims that he ALREADY got paid for the work but just never finished it. Our memories differ on this subject and I am not too "fond" of this person. He is one of the people that I think was "talking" to Shane when we were having our issues and I am not fond of him at ALL! But whatever. One of the things we agreed on is that we are just going to let eachother do our things for now and not question it. He used to always give me crap about me going on trips with my mom even when she paid for the entire thing and so I told him I won't ask him about stuff he does with his friends but he needs to back off about stuff I do with my mom. So hopefully we can stick to that!

But anyway while he was gone the girls and I went over to moms and baked cookies and a cake and then had spaghetti and watched survivor and then the girls helped grandma decorate her tree. It was a fun evening.

I have to run in to work today and then tonight the girls are having their Girl Scout Christmas party. They are having a pajama party, gee sounds familiar LOL, and they are doing pizza and dessert so it will be fun for them. They are also doing an ornament exchange so that should be fun. She also gives them their badges they have earned for the first half of the year although we really haven't DONE that much so they probably won't have hardly any but that means I will have to go get them sewn on, what they DO get. I still have some of shelby's from LAST summer LOL. But anyway then tomorrow I don't know what's going on but then Wed the direct tv guy is coming to install our dish and then I can FINALLY get rid of stupid comcast! YAY!

Anyway then on Thur we are going to church for candlelight service and then to a relatives for a christmas eve deal that we always do and Fri my parents will prob come here to watch the girls open their gifts and then we usually go over there and open the stuff from THEM and then have dinner. It looks like it is just going to be us this year. We were SUPPOSED to go to Truckee for the weekend but if Shane's layoff starts then we probably won't go. They told him he will have work today and tomorrow and that's it. But it is all up in the air. He said they don't know exactly when the jobs they currently have are going to end but the shop is going to shut down around the holidays and not open back up for 6 months. I personally don't see how they can stay in business but whatever. The only good thing is he is in a union so I am "hoping" he might be able to go to another shop for awhile.

He is off taking his contractors license test again but I am not thinking very positive cuz there was just TOO much going on these last few weeks and he didn't get enough study time. We shall see I guess.

But anyway that's bout it for me. I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend and has some fun stuff planned for this holiday week!! :)

Good morning,, Divas. Are you ready for Christmas? I think we are finally.

My grandma passed away yesterday, as hard as it was for everyone to let her go she was ready to go and with her pelvis broken there was no way she would recover. She also was having problems breathing and she did not want to be on a respirator so they gave her pain meds to keep her comfortable and she told my dad that she was ready to go.:sad1: She would have been 94 tomorrow and she lived a full and happy life. I was really torn if I should fly back to CO for her services which are tomorrow. Quick I know but they wanted to have it on her birthday and really it was difficult to get there by tomorrow for me. They live in a remote area in SO CO and I would have flown into either Denver or Albuquerque and driven the 4 hours each way and I then would have come back here on Wed. My parents told me they did not expect me to go and I did go and visit her before I moved to CA. :guilty: But anyway I am sad that I cannot be there with my family and regardless of their age it's difficult but I know she is happy and pain free where ever she is. My grandpa is still alive and he is 96 and in fairly good health. He is my last living grandparent. I feel very lucky that I had the chance to know all of my great grand parents except for one set and I've had all my grandparents in my life for a long time.

As for the Melting Pot you can order a meal that you share with one other person or you can order al a carte and it comes out to be about the same price. We chose the meal to share and first we had our choice of cheese to dip apples, veggies and bread into. We chose Spinach Artichoke which I had never tried and it was really yummy. We then had our choice of a salad. Then we had our choice of main course selections and we had two types of steak, shrimp, chicken, brats, and veggies. The other two choices came with lobster. We then had our choice of dessert, which in my opinion is the best! I always pick the Flaming Turtle…we had cheese cake, brownies, strawberries, I know there was more to choose from but I can’t remember everything right now. But the dessert is the best!! We also had a bottle of wine and our bill came to $130. It is pricey but so worth it for a special occasion. It’s very relaxing and cozy and you cook your own food at the table. We have always had awesome service at Melting Pots too. I have been to the one in Denver about 5 times and the one in TO was nice too. We were stuffed by the time we were finished.

Vicki I am so sorry to hear about your grandma. It makes it even harder when it happens during the holidays! ((hugs)) and prayers to you and your family in your time of grieving. I know how hard it must be for you to not be there but I am sure everyone knows that you will be there in spirit!

I agree about the melting pot. Shane and I have gone once or twice for a special dinner and then we have gone for our anniversary and for my birthday a few times. I LOVE that place but it IS expensive and def reserved for special occasions that's for sure.

In fact we just watched a movie the other day where a family was having chocolate fondue for christmas and I saw some fondue pots on sale at target and I thought that would be fun but I wonder if it is a total pain in the butt to clean? I know the kids would LOVE it. But anyway Vicki big ((hugs))

I'm so sorry to read your news. Hugs and prayers to you and your family. :sad1:

It's the power cord for a Mac Powerbook. My desktop computer got a virus back in April or May & I haven't had the time or money to get it fixed. We've just been using the laptop for the past few months & the cord I think is getting worn out.

Not sure if I have one for that, we only have PCs, not Macs. If you know if the power cords are the same, let me know.

Callie, did you see my post on the lotion I use for the eczema on my hands?

Cheryl, I think we figured out your wild thing! You're Tiger Woods new mistress, aren't you?!?

Good morning girls! Just a drive-by from me. Sorry I've been MIA lately, but like everybody elde, I've been super-busy.

Vicki--im so sorry about your grandma.

Kelly--i got a lovely note in the mail the other day. So sweet! And about the fondue pot, I have a Cuisanart nonstic electric pot. It's not a cheapie one, but it keeps its contents at an even temp and is vert easy to clean.

OK, I'm off to Safeway and Costco, and then I have to do some prep for tomorrow. I hope you all have a super day today! I'll try to check in later.

All of you thinking of going to Melting Pot - I saw a coupon for it somewhere - not sure if it was entertainment.com It is pricey -

There's a coupon on restaurants.com for the one in Santa Barbara. Might be a long drive for some though.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. But glad you got to see her before moving to CA.

Melting Pot sounds so yummy. I didn't share that I actually have 3 fondue pots (one we had, one my sister gave me 2nd hand & one my parents gave me 2nd hand). Probably because I am the only one in my family to try some of the non-chocolate fondue recipes. We had a "Dipping Night" once where I made cheese fondue as an appitizer, french dip sandwiches as the main & 2 kinds of chocolate fondue as dessert. But can't do that again - too much food for just the 2 of us anymore & we don't have friends who live close enough to do a random dinner party.

Vicki, I'm sorry about your grandma.

Kerry, where are you at? You must be in Ventura County-ish if TO is closer than SB for you!

Cheryl, I think we figured out your wild thing! You're Tiger Woods new mistress, aren't you?!?

:lmao: :rolleyes1

Hi everyone!

Vicki , I'm sorry about your Grandmother. It's hard to know that you can't be there. DH's brother died earlier this year, and he couldn't make it back to AL. He did listen in to the service though on the phone. Maybe you could do that?

We had Nathan's IEP meeting and I got everything I wanted and asked for. I'm so relieved that it's over. I think he'll really flourish there. The school is 100% included, so he'll be treated like every other child.

I hope everyone has a great day!
