Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is going 2D…

I'm very happy to hear this! I hate 3D rides. I wear glasses, and putting glasses on top of glasses is uncomfortable and doesn't always work. And I can't go without my regular glasses. Plus the 3D kind of makes me queasy. Can we do this for TSMM too?

I rode the 2D Version in Paris last year and honestly I liked it better in 2D than 3D. Especially if they truly enhance it with better projections and some newer props like it sounds like they will. I think this will be an improvement not any kind of downgrade.

We just rode the Paris version on October 5th and it was better in my opinion, mostly because it was very clear and you dont' have to wear those annoying glasses. I wear prescription glasses too so 3D glassess are extra annoying to me.

While the 3D effects are obviously not present you don't have that odd kind of blurry look to everything like you do with the glasses. I didn't feel like I missed anything or the lack of 3D detracted from the ride scenes at all. In fact, I wasn't even thinking about 3D when we got on the ride but do remember after we got off saying to my wife, hey, we weren't wearing 3D glasses. That's when it hit me that it was still really good in 2D and I didn't feel like anything was missing.

I'm happy about the change, but I'm not happy about the short notice by Disney. The closing dates also coincide with a holiday. Disney probably could have planned it better to be during a slower time & give at least a couple months' notice.

We will be there 11/9-11/12 for a quick trip with my adult daughter who hasn't been to Disney for years and this would have been a new ride for her. It's not worth rearranging all our plans on 11/9 just ride Remy, but it is a bit annoying.

Probably a change for the better. The glasses were always dirty, and most of the ride doesn’t benefit from 3D. But there are a couple of places where I think the 3D works nicely—at the beginning when Chef Gusteau appears in the air and when Remy is deciding what to cook, and near the end when the champagne cork flies right at you. I suspect those scenes won’t be as good.

Maybe dirty isn’t the right word. Smudged. Or scratched. Or damaged. Such that one’s vision is partially obstructed. I find that to be the case with most 3D glasses on most rides at Disney.

Mine used to fog up really bad when you had to wear face diapers on rides a few years ago.

Overall yes it is a change for the better, and some of the effects are dumbed down as you mention. However now you get to use your imagination more which isn't a bad thing either.

Those 3D glasses are kind of heavy. Between them and my glasses it hurts my nose bridge.

Also one time my son’s lens fell out of the 3D glasses and shattered into lots of pieces when hitting the floor.

I’ll be happy for the change.
