Getting Ready for our July Trips to the World

Way to go Carrie!!!

Sorry I have ditched this thread ... I have been HORRIBLE with my eating, though I was good with my exercise ... but my daughter was sick this weekend with a tummy bug and my son has been a snot machine, so no gym for me ... bad bad bad ... I need to get back in control of everything ugh!
You will :) It's hard to do anything with sickies in the house.

Thanks you guys! You are all so supportive. It's like we are our own WW meeting

I did a double threat today...weighed and measured myself.

Weight 210.2lbs (not the 200 I would have liked but Dr's appt is on the 31st so hopefully we can start to get to the bottom of this)

Bust 38 inches (down from 42 inches)

Waist 37 inches (down from 37.5 at last measure)

Hips 43 inches (no change from last measure)

So I've lost my bust and half an inch from my waist but my hips (aka my bum area) is not showing signs of going anywhere. I'm also happy to report that I've lost a double chin! Just wish I could loose my bum.

I am taking Kelp, Konjac root, Cinnamon, Grape Seed Extract, Fiber Plus tabs, Centrum Women's Ultra, 1200 mg of Fish Oil and LOTS of water.

So here is my new prayer:

Please Dear God (and Disney Pixie Workers) Help me to loose 11 more lbs before I see my husband again. Help me not have thighs that rub together when I walk through the streets of the World and let me feel confident enough in my own body to appear in more then just 2 or 3 pictures with my family.

Awesome job!
Isn't it great to make that final payment?

Yes! Yes!! The trip is coming!!

Now, if I can stop injuring myself. (My doctor said "okay, you can use your exercise bike but whatever you do, don't point your toes." Guess what I caught myself doing last night? Guess who hurts today?)

Well, some of us are just built that way. Even when I was at my slimmest, my thighs still rubbed! Good luck with your continued efforts at getting healthier!

Thanks Sarbah! I don't think there's been a time in my life where my thighs have NOT rubbed together when I walked but it's a dream of mine. I'm really looking forward to my physical (which is weird because I don't care much for doctors :rotfl2:) and getting some insight on how to get my body out of this rut I'm stuck at.

There is nothing I hate more than the thigh rub. Well, except when I am fat, the thighs rub my shorts to ride up. That's the worst I think :(

I am kind of blah about all this today. Maybe because I spent all day hand sewing patches on dd's brownie vest and I'm not done yet. Now I have to to the junior vest :headache: Not only am I not going to be done by tomorrow, which is when I need it done, but I didn't even get to exercise today.

The only good part of my day was I had to go to Target and I was able to get a few things in the 1$ bins for surprises for dd for the plane :) I got some Hello Kitty stamps and stickers and a little notebook she can do a journal in and some pens. Now I just want to get her a new coloring book and crayons and she's all set. I am sure she won't do anything but play her gameboy, but you never know:rotfl2:

Thigh rub is evil!! I have always longed for great legs! My grams had a great pair of gams on her, I'm so glad I inheritied her brown eyes!:sad2: So I notice that a lot of you post how many calories you have burned during this or that activity- how do you know?

So everyone always talks about how terrible the water is from the water fountains/bubblers at WDW.

What would YOU take a long for flavoring that has almost 0 calories? I do like Crystal Light, to an extent, but I was wondering if there was a flavoring with fewer calories. Like soda, which, uh, dehydrates you!

I have one of 2 ways I know how many calories have been burned per activity. One...the machine I'm on at the gym tells me how long and how many calories I've burned in that time. Two....with the myfitnesspal site I go to, I enter in the activity then the time and it gives me the calories burned.

Last year I think I used about a half of a stick of Body Glide because of the thigh rub bringing the sides of my shorts up. If it wasn't for that stuff I wouldn't have been walking. The new shorts my mom got me though are loose in the thighs (and are getting looser in other spots as well) but they still move up too grrr! I cant win for losing!

So everyone always talks about how terrible the water is from the water fountains/bubblers at WDW.

I'm one of those people who orders water and has it delivered. I know I drank a LOT of soda last year but duno if I will be doing it this year, not that I would be able to finish one now. The thought of opening a can of soda for myself makes me cringe! I don't know much about the water flavorings though, but ocassionally I buy the Walmart brand crystal light...they have diffrent flavors (like apple) which is a change of pace. It would be REALLY cool if Countrytime had 0 calorie water flavor's.

I was looking forward to spin class this morning, but the sickness fairy had other plans in store for me. Meghan is down with the flu, coughing, burning up and stuffed up so she's home on the couch. I'm thinking about busting out the Wii after a bit though and getting some sort of a work out in.

I can't believe it has been almost a week since I checked in on this board. Last week I lost 1.5 lbs and am hoping for another one pound tomorrow. My eating has been good, not great. Workouts have been OK.

I'm successfully using my recumbent exercise bike for 30 minutes at a time! :woohoo:

AND THEN! The scale yesterday informed me that I'd lost 2.4 pounds! :scared1:

A pound of it can easily be attributed to a specific time of the month, but WOW! Just.. WOW! Talk about encouragement to keep on keepin' on! I'm almost halfway to my first goal! (Which is good. I WANT my reward at my goal.)

I'm making the final payment for our trip today, which is pretty darned exciting! :) (And pretty darned motivating, too - haha!!)

:banana::banana::banana:

Nice job!!! Keep up the good work.

Ok, I have weighed myself for the first time since last Wed. I did the Wii fit every day except Sat and Sun. I've been really strict about what I'm eating. I even passed on my dad's bd cake (big big thing for me, cake!)

and I lost

9 lbs!!!:banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo:

I know it's mostly because I gave up soda and 'bad' carbs, but I was still shocked! I did 45 minutes again today before I lost my happy thoughts LOL

:banana::banana::banana:

That is awesome!!!! Keep it up

Unfortunately life sometimes gets in the way our goals. We just pick up where we left off, when life is less stressful.

Good luck with your appointment.
I may have to try put MFP, it sounds like something I would like.

Jumped off the deep end and ordered a swimsuit online!! A tankini even!:scared1: Trying it on in the privacy of my own bathroom made it a little less horrific, no flourescent light in there! I'm going to keep it but I need to find some board shorts that have an inseam longer than 1" (hello, Target?) We aren't doing any waterparks (DD wasn't interested :confused3) but we will most likely swim in the resort pool a few times. Hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day Weekend!!!

I am so jelous of everyone's motivation to exercise and loose wieght. I just booked our Disney trip 7/6 to 7/16 and I hurt my knee recently. I got a cortizone shot this week and had a bad reaction and ended up on crutches. I don't think I am going to be able to do the walking needed for a Disney trip, so I am contemplating renting a scooter. I don't even know where to begin looking for information on haw to rent one. I would only need it for all the walking, we would not abuse the scooter like: pulling up at the bus stops with my group while people have been waiting in line for a bus, and then getting on infront of everyone, rather having my 15 yr old DD get our place in line and wait like we have always done. I would also wait my turn in all other lines also. Does anyone have any infor on how to rent a scooter? Thansk for your help.

I drink more than a bottle of water a day and I have no desire to carry around multiples. I'd bring an unopened bottle and then refill during the day, which is why I'm asking.

I recommend checking out the DISabilities board. Lots of great info, especially for those of us who are temporarily disabled, too!

Hi all!!

Carrie - 9lbs is AMAZING well done!! Disneywatcher your inches are going down, that's what's important - good luck with the appointment. Well done to everyone else with their continued efforts and chin up to those struggling a bit!

Well I've been pretty good this week foodwise, will weigh in tomorrow. Did 3 spin classes at the start of the week and should be at a combat class right now but hubby didn't get in from work til after 3.30 am and is still asleep (it's about 10.30 am here at the mo) so I thought it was a bit unfair to wake him and force him to be a parent just so I could go to the gym, especially since he's away back out to work in a couple of hours! :sad2: I hate his backshift weekend! So does he right enough!

6 weeks time I'll be on a plane!! Woo hoo! Well I should be assuming the Virgin pilots behave!!

mo x

I haven't been around much this weekend cause I've been sick. UGH! I hate stomach bugs. I'm finally back to myself. We were supposed to march in the parade this morning with my daughter's brownie troop. It was pouring, so we ended up not going. Then, after it started, the sun came out. Now she's mad at ME! Like I made it rain or stop :rotfl2:

I give up, I swear! Meanwhile tomorrow is my son's birthday. He came and informed me at 9 am that he'd rather have a family dinner and cake today so he can go out tomorrow. That's fine, but we may be the only family here. I don't even know yet if my mom, dad and grandmother can come. I also called my bro and SIL, but because my dad and I weren't feeling well this weekend, they may not want to bring the baby (he's 5 months old).

Now I'm off to the store to buy the boy's dinner in the hopes that someone besides us will manage to get here!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

When my parents came with us a few years ago we rented one through Walker Mobility. They delivered the scooter right the resort and also picked it up. I thought the customer service was fantastic and highly recommend them.

Need to go back and read everyone's posts but just came to say that I rejoined weight watcher meetings and will go to my first meeting on Wednesday morning! I need SOMETHING to kick start me ... I hope this is it ... I feel like I am out of control with the eating ...

Honestly my only motivation at all is that I don't want my dd to get fat. Last summer we noticed her getting a tiny bit of a belly. So out went the soda and crap and in came the fruit and the water. I didn't give a reason other than mommy and daddy needed to lose weight, so we were going to have healthier food in the house. I do swap out no sugar added ice pops and fruit and baked chips and 100 cal snacks for the other stuff. And I pretty much have the whole household under a soda ban. We did that last summer and everyone felt much better by September.

They can drink it if we are out. Maybe dd can have one, otherwise I prefer her to have water or some kind of juice or something else. Depends what the options are. While we are on vacation if she drinks all her water for the day, she can have a soda with dinner.

Last time we went in July she wasn't drinking enough water or powerade and got really really sick from the heat. At the time, she mostly only drank apple juice. It wasn't enough. We ended up in First aid in Epcot 2x, possibly 3. They kept giving us packs of saltines and bottles of powerade for her to drink. The let her rest there and made sure she was cooled off, but I was a nervious wreck. We left there our first stop was to get her a hat. I think we kind of just called it a day after that, because we just wanted to let her rest and see how the night went.

Moral to the story: Don't spend hot hot hot days in the sun drinking soda. It doesn't work well.

Once I lose the 83 lbs I have left to get to back my goal weight and can go to WW for free, I'll do it with you....it may take me a while though:rotfl::rotfl:

Mo~ I still have my fingers and toes crossed that the pilots @ Virgin don't do anything harsh and they can work through this with management! In the mean time 3 spin classes! I'm so jealous!

Gray~ YOU CAN DO IT! We all have faith in you! Lately I find myself looking at things before I put them in my mouth and asking myself "Do I Want you or NEED you?" If it's just a want then I put it down and grab some water then after I drink about 2 glasses down if I'm still hungry I go for something a little more healthy.

Carrie~ YOU CAN DO IT! I've been working on getting the junk out of the house (apples, animal crackers instead of cookies and LOT'S of air popped pop corn). I keep water in the house at all times and the occasional soda. I still have 1.5 12 packs of Coke Zero left but I can't bring myself to drink it :rotfl:

So today is the day for my physical and after I write this I will be going to shower and get ready for that one. Didn't make it to the gym this morning because I have 2 hours of hourly care left and I figure I will need them for the physical. I will get out when I get back though and re-mow the lawn (burns a lot of calories ya know) and run around with my kiddo's after I sweep my floors again. Meghan was down on Friday and ended up going to the doctor on Sunday. She has strep throat and a sinus infection which we are working on getting out of her system. I admit I made some bad choices this weekend but I will get right back on my band wagon this week and get it all right again!

Small victory for me today....

So I go to my physical and my Doc actually LISTNED To me! I go in tomorrow morning for a complete blood panel! He's also going to refer me to a nutritionist to find out where the kinks are in my diet. He also said if any of my tests come back with even a leaning towards PCOS, he will refer me to an edocronologist to work on getting it treated! I have never looked forward to seeing the labpires so much in my life as I am for tomorrow morning. So my plan is lab first then gym for a good solid work out.

:cheer2: Good luck tomorrow!

Well the last couple of days I have done a walk/jog thing but today after work the temp was 100F with a heat index of 105F so I did the elliptical, upper body with free weights, and abs in the garage. I'm not sure if I sweated so much because of the intensity of my workout or cuz it was hot in the garage but it made feel like I accomplished something! I start working 2nd shift in a couple of weeks so I'll be able to workout early in the day before the heat becomes unbearable. I'm contemplating purchasing a family pool pass for the post pool so that DD can get some more exercise in and I can get some sun so that I don't have to coordinate my WDW wardrobe with my inevitable sunburn. Unfortunately, the Army installation that I live on is very civilian-centric and I would have to shell out $140 for a two month pass. Don't mind spending money (hello! Disney) just don't like paying for something that has been free the last 20yrs.
