Genie+ for the "kiddie" rides?

We are a family of 6, going for the second time in late January. The kids are 10, 7, and 4 year old twins, who are 37". My older ones aren't into the "big" rides, and me and DH don't ride them either. Basically we ride things we can all ride together, mostly things without height requirements. I'm wondering if genie+ is worth it, mostly for MK Day, just to avoid lines on those rides. 3 of my kids have an extremely hard time in lines, and we generally like to keep it to 15-20 minutes max. Last time we went with fast pass I was able to get a FP for a ride, then as soon as we checked in get another for the next ride, so on and we were able to almost walk on the rides during the afternoon. I don't know if Genie+ will allow us the same or not. Is there value for not using it for the more adventurous rides?

I think Genie+ would work very well for your family. The Genie LL choices for the "big rides" go fast, but Fantasyland and others are much more accessible. MK would be the best bang for your buck with the number of available attractions.

I think you could go either way in late January. Most of those rides shouldn't have much of a wait, so if you are rope droppers, you could hit PP, Pooh, and Haunted Mansion early and not have much trouble with waits on the rest. If getting there early isn't for you, G+ would help you get on most of those rides.

Thank you! That is kind of what I'm thinking of doing. We have two MK days, so maybe just buy it for one day. I don't forsee it being much help with the other parks.

We did a magic Kingdom afternoon with our 2-year old and used genie+ sort of to practice for big trips. We stayed mostly in fantasyland, and despite it being a marathon weekend and pretty crowded, we did-
peter pan
small world
carousel (no lightning lane, but the 2-year old is obsessed with “horseys”)
little mermaid
dumbo

we had one for Winnie the Pooh, but the ride kept going down, we flipped it for our small world ride, rebooked it, then it went down again, we left before using the freebie for the second down time.

We had one for barnstormer but we ended up leaving before we used it.

we were only in the Park a few hours, it definitely saved us time

On our recent trip, we had a little more focus than usual on the slower rides at MK. My wife doesn’t enjoy the coasters and other big rides, and one of my adult daughters had just had surgery on a fractured finger and her doctor advised her not to do anything (like roller coasters) that might jostle the injury.

We found G+ to be very helpful getting us on some of the family friendly rides and slow dark rides like Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Small World, etc, that do get waits over 30 minutes.

Our other adult daughter who was on the trip and I did the faster rides at MK, DAK, and DHS early while the others enjoyed their Starbucks.

I think trying Genie+ for one MK day would be a good idea for someone with smaller kids.

MK is probably the best park to use Genie +. Especially if you are doing the younger kid rides.
The big attractions still disappear faster, but the other rides were available most of the day.

MK could definitely be worth it for your family, especially if you don't want to be at park for rope drop. Prioritize Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, and Haunted Mansion as your first selections, and many of the other slower rides you'll be able to get a near immediate return time. Of course, late January should be a slower time, so I would also keep an eye on wait times in the week leading up to your trip to see if G+ will actually be necessary.

First LL we booked for MK was Peter Pan. We hit all the of the kiddie rides as we could stand. By afternoon, we had 4 or 5 rides in our Genie+ all queued up at once. Worked out great. We were there the week before Thanksgiving and was successful with Genie+. Got big rides later in the day.
