G82 Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach excursion

When we booked excursions I saw this seven mile beach excursion (G82) through Disney that I didn't see on the list previously. Our plan was to go to Seven Mile Beach on our own using the buses for a beach day. Has anyone done the excursion through Disney? Do we need them to take us or are we better off/cheaper heading there on our own?

We'd also like to do the little museum in town because I read it has pirate items. The excursion meets at 11:15, would Disney let us get off and meet our excursion at the port or do you have to meet on board? Ashore time is 10:30. Thank you for the advice!

It'd be cheaper to do on your own. We used the public buses ($2.50 USD every time you get on/off, masks required on buses last June) last June to go to the Turtle Center and Hell. It was great, felt very safe. For 4 of us, we spent $30 on transportation, and about $120 at the turtle center...so less than $40/person for our do it yourself excursion!

DCL Excursions get first priority for the tenders, so you probably wouldn't get ashore before 11 anyways. Morning ones need to meet on the ship, I think afternoon ones meet on the island.
