From Kick'n It at Kidani to Play'n It at Pop adults only p62/63 last thoughts&request

Don't you worry...I will be getting some tips from him before May!! He has an Olympus and I am thinking Canon but I am sure some things will be universal :confused3
I do love me some TOT...the only part that freaks me out is when you are moving forward and in front of you it looks like a curtain closing :rolleyes1 I always look above or off to the left or right ;)
I have always been a big TZ fan...Serling is from Binghamton (10 minutes from here.) I think the influence of my much, much older brothers  made me like them. I took a picture of the devil thing from Nick of Time and there are a pair of cracked glasses from another episode Time Enough at Last...I haven't found the book yet...and at the end of the ride before you exit the elevator I have seen a ventriloquist dummy from another episiode.
Oh yeah and  on the bio break guy!!

I hope to respond to everyone today. Thanks for all the great replies.

For those of you who inquired about soccer, here is the latest update:

Brian's HS team IS ranked 3rd and will play tomorrow night at 8pm. If Brian's team wins they will play on Saturday evening at 8pm.

Nicholas's Traveling team is 3rd in their division and will play Saturday against the 2nd place team. If they win, they will play again on Sunday for the championship.

Brian also was awarded 2nd team, All Conference for this year's soccer season. He was quite excited to receive a soccer award (4 seniors and 3 juniors from his team received awards) and he hopes that he will recieve an all state award next year in his senior year. He really wasn't expecting anything, so he is quite excited, to say to the least!

So that's the soccer update. I'll know more tomorrow night and I will respond inidividually later today!

Well, here's another picture I have to wait to see! :sad2:

:lmao:

Not ugly...functional but not ugly.

LL.....you really are a light fixture's best friend!

Mary Ellen, you have some awesome pictures of the Hollywood Hotel! You might need to submit to a magazine. Very artistic!

Thanks Anita. That's a really nice compliment. I really ejoyed taking those pictures. It was still fairly pleasant outside in the shade and my "nerves" where in check, so I used the time to my advantage!

GREAT TOT pictures! really fabulous detail. As much as I love your AK pics, some of these might be my absolute favs.

Sept2009-Disney1246.jpg

Perhaps because I have such a love/hate relationship with this ride...

Thanks Cynthia...again, what a nice compliment. Just one problem.......there is another picture here that I can't see, but I think it must be one of mine. I hate to be in the dark!

So much to comment on!

First, CONGRATS to Brian and his team! Any recent updates there? How are they doing in the state competitions?

Thanks Brooke. We are excited and nervous to begin the tournament. See above for an update!

So much to comment on!

Love your TOT pics! Some really cool angles and details I've never really noticed while going through the line.

Thank you! It really was fun taking those pics!!!!! I was getting better at taking pics by my 4th day! I certainly had enough practice by now!

Your May ADRs are looking very tasty. As far as your birthday, I am all about a Kona breakfast. Amazing coffee, good food, beautiful resort! :goodvibes I'm with ya on wanting to stay there someday. I truly hope they manage to build DVC there somehow. Or maybe we will splurge for 2 nights there or something sometime down the line!

I think Kona would be a fun breakfast. I know my friends would love it because they enjoy good coffee. Would that be the coolest thing - if they built DVC there. People would be beating down the DVC kiosks to get in there. I really believe that! Maybe someday I will do a splurge, too!

I also love your gate shot from Pop! I had no idea that was there! Very cool. I've never managed to get a picture of the gates. Perhaps in December I will sit at the FRONT of the ME bus and attempt to snag one.

Thank you! Pop does have some great views - the gate, Spaceship earth, and the balloon at DTD (crap - I forget the name right now). Definately try for the front of the bus so you can get your shot!!!!!

Loved all your updates on MNSHHP. Sounds like a really wonderful night, relaxing and enjoyable with walk-on rides. :thumbsup2 That parade always looks so amazing. I am not into Halloween or even remotely creepy things, but the detail and theming of that parade is just fantastic. I hope to catch the Christmas parade in December because I have heard that one is pretty good too!

We had a wonderful time. I've never been a huge Halloween person either, but the theming was irresistable.

You should try to go to the Christmas party. It's really fun, too. I love being to get there and then call member services to add the tickets. It's so convenient. Enjoy, if you go!

Great ToT pictures! As someone who is too chicken for that ride  I enjoyed seeing the detailing!

I know my girlfriend won't ride in May either, but I am going to drag her in there so she can see everything. It's definately worth a visit. I'm going to look for some of the things I learned about in my Hidden Magic book.

Mmmmmm....ToT!!! I love it!!!!! One of the best parts of that ride is that we don't have to do child swap for it! Our littlest can go on it and actually loves it! Your pictures are great! Sometimes waiting in those lines for a bit is worth it from a photographic standpoint!

That is so great that all your kids love ToT. Its so much fun when the whole family can ride together. I bet you have some good ride pics! Glad you enjoyed the queue pictures. The ride was DEFINATELY worth to wait to get those pictures. I had a lot of fun going back and looking at them last night!

Great pics from TOT!! Thanks for sharing because I'll never see it in person! I'm too chicken! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Stop!~You can go back in there and check at the queue. It's seriously easy to take the non-ride route out of there. Promise me you will go see for yourself in January!

What great ToT pictures!! You are so brave to do that ride - I rode it once and never again! :scared1: I just don't like drops! :scared1:

Looks like you had another fun morning!!

I'm glad I rechecked my TR because I almost missed this!!!!!!! See what happens when you try to post and you are actually busy at work.....Not a good combo.

I'm so glad you like the pictures.

How long ago did you ride ToT???? I SWEAR it has gotten easier. They used to say there is a motor that pushes the cars down during the fastest drop. I think they changed that! I have no proof, but the bad drops just don't feel as intense.

If its been over 2 or 3 years since you tried it, I think you need to ride it again. Seriously, I am a huge chicken and I think its getting tamer!

Tracy - I will be back to reply soon. I gotta go do something for work now. Be back soon!

Hmmm...why does the Tower of Terror concept...have not ridden it...scare me more than saw Everest?

Your photos are absolutely gorgeous...the detailing on that building is fabulous...:thumbsup2

Tracy

Great! Make sure you pm me all his tips!!!!!!

I do love me some TOT...the only part that freaks me out is when you are moving forward and in front of you it looks like a curtain closing :rolleyes1 I always look above or off to the left or right ;)

That part is so freaky. I always think its wierd where you cross over that "bump" and the doors open and "ahhhhhhhhh" off you go.:scared1: I remember the first time I did the ride thinking, "wow....this is so cool" and then "ahhhhhhhhhhh" :scared1:....I did not expect the drop to be so intense.

I have always been a big TZ fan...Serling is from Binghamton (10 minutes from here.) I think the influence of my much, much older brothers  made me like them. I am going to youtube some of those episodes, because I barely remember him from my childhood. I don't remember any specific episodes, so I'd like see if watching them jogs some old memory cells! I especially want to watch the Nick of Time episode.

Oh yeah and  on the bio break guy!!
That was so loud. Never heard anything that I wasn't supposed to hear that was that loud in any of my stays.

Because unexpected drops in an elevator are just creepy and scary. At least you know (sort of) what you are getting with a roller coaster. I find elevators inherently scary. The thought of getting stuck in one of them terrifies me.

On Halloween day two of our garage guys got stuck in the elevator at my office...with a dead body. (For those who don't know, that's not THAT shocking because i work in a funeral home). i heard them calling and had to go and 'rescue' them by trying to inch the elevator up to the floor with the buttons you normally use to align the floor of the elevator with the hallway floor. Very exciting!! i was really glad to be the one on the outside, though!

Great ToT angles, Mary Ellen! And i love your MNSSHP outfit :rotfl:

LL.....I know it is sacrilegious to say this....BUT....I'm with Shocker on this one....THIS c1970's light fixture is one of the homliest I have ever seen. :rolleyes1

To the both of you I say....

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTT!

I'm with you while I enjoy TOT there is just something about it that freaks me out everytime...I get a bit jittery...okay I get a lot jittery and I say a few prayers because so help me I do not want to exit this world on that ride and then I hope for the best!!!!! LOL I have always survived (obviously) but doesn't stop the fear from creeping in each and every time LOL!!!

I really like ToT but I'll admit I sent George on it this year with the kiddos. :rotfl: I mean, come on, he'd never been on it before and I just kinda sometimes get the feeling those doors are going to open when we're dropping and I'm gonna drop right out the front of the tower...... :scared:

Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond yet, but I wanted to let everyone know that Brian's team won the first round last night 5 - 0! :woohoo: round 2 is Saturday night 8pm. Oh, and if you were wondering about the weather......it s--cked! Rained the whole night and 45 degrees!

I'd be REAL happy to be on the OUTSIDE of that elevator, too. That is not cargo I would want to be stuck with, :scared1:

Thanks and Thanks! :rotfl: That's an outfit I won't remember with fondness! Not my best look!

I triple that! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Did I spell that wrong????

Sorry....I mean: home·ly [ hṓmlee ] (comparative home·li·er, superlative home·li·est)

adjective

Definition:

1. not good-looking: plain or less than pleasing in appearance
a homely face

home·ly (hml)
adj. home·li·er, home·li·est
1. Not attractive or good-looking: a homely child.
2. Lacking elegance or refinement: homely furniture.

MY BAD....when will I ever learn how to spell?

Loved, loved, loved your ToT pics!!! I absolutely love that ride!

Thank you! and lucky you......you will be riding ToT before you know it! And I want to hear all about it!!!!!

I'm with you while I enjoy TOT there is just something about it that freaks me out everytime...I get a bit jittery...okay I get a lot jittery and I say a few prayers because so help me I do not want to exit this world on that ride and then I hope for the best!!!!! LOL Jen.....you sound SO much like me. I feel exactly the same way. This was the calmest I have ever been.

So - it sounds like when we ride EE in October we also have to put ToT on our ride list! We will see who gets the most nervous!

I really like ToT but I'll admit I sent George on it this year with the kiddos. I mean, come on, he'd never been on it before and I just kinda sometimes get the feeling those doors are going to open when we're dropping and I'm gonna drop right out the front of the tower...... :scared:

Now that's a reassuring thought! I feel like that, too. I don't like to be in the front row, but this trip I was. I felt very brave!!!!! Heck...what am I talking about?????..I kept my eyes closed for the scariest part of the drops.
