Frogg Toggs a must?

I have a bandana frogg togg and love it! Plan on buying more.

I think WDW could get together with Frogg Togg and make a pretty penny if they had these in their shops at WDW- I would love a "Mickey" Frogg Togg!:) Not to mention it contributes to the health and well being of the park guest!

I think they'd make a killing if they sold them in their shops in the summer! Put one out on display and boom! Those things would fly off the shelf!

:rotfl2: and be $40 instead of $12 ! lets not even suggest it ...I have NO will power ;)
However, think how many pop/soda and water sales at 3 dollars a pop they would lose with guests less hot and exhausted.

OK, I need some enlightenment I guess.

A few years ago we tried some sort of bandana thing that had gel in it. They were ok for a few minutes, but not the lifesaver you guys are talking about.

Just wondering if these are the same type things, it seems to me that these would be hot to wear around your neck all day without any type of ventilation :confused3

Yuk I know what you are talking about those gel things not at all the same,
its hard to explain but you will re-wet them after a few hours it works

Extremely good point Dan good I don't NEED to give Mickey anymore money than necessary

After reading about the Frogg Togg here I bought one off of ebay. I used it for the first time last Sunday at Epcot. It worked very well! On Monday I ordered two more. One for my wife and one for my mother.

I just want to post a word of warning on Chilly Pads. I've had so many people rave about to them to me, that I thought they were the answer for my daughter, who is always hot. She is not allergic to anything that I know of. She used it for the first time a few weeks ago, and immediately broke out into a horrible rash, of red, raised bumps. We immediately stopped using the pad, but the rash lasted for nearly 2 weeks. When I looked into it further, I noticed a few people in the Amazon reviews also have complained of having allergic reactions to the material, despite never being allergic to anything before. Interestingly enough, I contacted the company and they told me they had never heard of that happening before, and yet, according to reviews on Amazon, their website had once said that the material could cause a rash.

So, my advice is to test it out for a short time before your vacation because the heat stinks, but having a red swollen rash on your vacation stinks worse. :)

ah sorry to hear that, poor kid I guess anyone can be allergic to anything Of the 30 or so people I know that use them though no one had anything bad to report

Used them all 14 days in the parks! Loved them...cut in half lengthwise... Also pack each in a quart sized ziploc bag loaded with ice each morning... Stayed icy cold most of the hot afternoon!

I really loved them, DH did not. I got them wet and they stayed cool for a long time. A warning though, DD got a bad sun burn on her shoulders and neck because it rubbed off her suntan lotion.

I agree with this. We saw very few people that had them and never saw anything at Disney.

This is very interesting because that happened to my daughter but since the rash peeled after a few days I assumed it rubbed off her sunscreen.

Just back from a late June trip. I took one chilly pad that I cut into 3 strips for the 3 grandkids. I ended up wearing them from time to time and I was very impressed. I'm going to buy another one for our July trip and for my Florida golfing.

It's very easy to put cooling exactly where it's needed. I forgot the youngest grandson's hat before getting into It's a Small World Line and I pulled the Chilly Pad strip off my neck and put it over his head until we were out of the direct sun and into the shade of the queue.

I also wiped down their faces, necks, backs of the knees and other good cooling points when it was ridiculously hot before we left for the day.

So I'm in the it's a must have for summer WDW touring. I got my at Walmart but I also saw them at Sports Authority.

Yes! We used them all week. My daughter has a bad heat intolerance due to heart issues.. It really helped her. I saw them at Walmart and Academy...

We recently found a generic version at Walgreens too. Wish we would have thought to bring these with us on our trip a few weeks ago. Love them for my kids sporting events!!"

I believe they are the same or at least similar. I just watched a review on YouTube and one thing the guy mentioned was that because they worked on evaporation the bandana would warm up when against the skin. When that happened he took it off for a few seconds and then put it back on and the cooling began again. Possibly this might work for yours? Worth a try.

I think I'm going to look for one of these for our August trip.

We leave in a month and everyone has a chilly pad for the trip. I can't wait to try them out at Disney.

The only thing I don't like is how they dry stiff as cardboard.

On the packaging it says to store them wet.

FHP officers first told me about them, you'd be surprised how many CMs wear them and you would never know...Disney doesn't sanction or provide, I just know a lot of CMs that do and ladies I have to say think outside of the box night sweats a thing of the past...just sayin'

Brilliant idea - I will have to remember that when the time comes - it should be soon!!!

I bought a couple at BJ's Wholesale Club. It's been very hazy hot and humid here and I gave one to DS while he was mowing the lawn. He was amazed how much cooler he felt.

One side is textured - for cooling. The smooth side is for absorbing moisture.

LOve them! :thumbsup2 Used them last Sept. at Disney and they definitely helped. They are not like a poncho! They have a few different sizes but basically they are the size of a sports towel. You can cut them to the size you want.

I'm so very sorry to hear that! One question: did you wash it well with hot water before use? I know mine came with those instructions, and it felt nasty when I did it (almost gave up on the concept then and there), but after that it was fine. I wonder if she reacted to whatever liquid it is they pack them in, because it sure isn't water!

We just came back and really loved the chilly pads. I cut them in half and stored them in a ziplock bag. Even if we didn't use them for a day we would take them out and they would still be cool ( not cold). I would highly recommend them for the summer heat.

Two questions...

Does anyone have photos of you wearing Frogg Toggs? I am curious what all of WDW photos will look like if all 5 of us are wearing them. Seems like it could be as bad as fanny packs :)

Do you wear the Frogg Toggs around your neck most of the time? or are they put away in a ziploc and taken out only every once in awhile? I am sure it is a preference thing but what do most of you do? I am concerned about the weight of carrying 5 of them around in a bag all day to only get them out occasionally. Then it would seem sharing them would make sense- but sharing them seems a little gross.

You know what I just looked, but no pictures :confused3 alot of times depending on the type of shirt worn you can't even see it As far as weight we're talking about an ounce can't imagine more than that No need for you to be carrying 5 anyway put each in a ziplock everyone carries their own OR wears it all day...which depends on heat/humidity personal preference etc as far as sharing it? Like you said Gross !

Here's a question for you- how are the frog toggs different than just putting a wet washcloth on your neck? Both just take advantage of the concept of evaporative cooling, so what's the difference?
