Frogg Toggs a must?

These sound really cool - does anyone know what the best way would be to get one once in Florida? We live overseas and while I see that we can order it on amazon the price is about five times what everyone else seems to be paying for them.

We will go to WDW early August and I would love to try these. Any stores in or close to WDW that would sell them?

You could try a local Walmart once you get there. They carry them.

We bought one for my daughter since she plays goalie for her lacrosse team, when it dried completely, it got as had a cardboard. Is this the same for everyone else?

Ours do that too, I wash after each use ( track meet, soccer game..) usually after the season is over I store them dry. They have always come back fine after wetting them again. We have had ours for 2 years.

I bought 2 on Friday at our local Bed Bath. I got one in LIME GREEN and a navy blue. It says on the cannister to wet them in warm water. From what I'm reading rinsing in cool water won't matter?

Wet them in warm water before the first use. After that, you can use cool water.

ok, you guys got me curious. I hadn't heard of these until last week on these boards. Today I went out and got one for our southern Florida trip next week. Along with the beach, we HAVE to check out the Everglades for the first time and I KNOW I will love these then :furious::headache: I plan to cut it up into smaller strips. I purchased mine at Sports Authority. They're on sale for $14.99 but they price match so I took my Walmart ad which had them posted for $12.88 (I think that's their regular price) PLUS I used the 15% off coupon in the paper. Coupon was also valid for some other clearance stuff for our trip.

If nothing else, we'll use them to mow the lawn and during my daughter's outdoor volleyball tournaments.

FYI - A lot of people complain that these things get moldy if you store them wet (as suggested). If you buy them, store them dry.

For those of you who cut yours down in half or thirds. Were you happy cutting them or do you wish you would've gone with a different cut size? I'm hesitant about cutting it too small to be effective.

Thanks!!

I am happy with my cut. I cut them in half- the hot dog way and they will easily wrap around neck, under or outside shirt...and easy to hold, whatever. Cutting them the other way makes them too short. I would only cut in half. In theirs or fourths is too small/skinny.

We tried ours out yesterday in the scorching hot sunshine at an all day horse show. My daughter wore it under her show clothes and it was a life saver!

We are now Frogg Togg fans. Can't wait to bring them to Disney for hot days in the parks. I bought one, cut it in half lengthwise, so we were both able to use it (plus they fit better around the neck now).

I wish I knew about Frogg Toggs when I used to compete in horse shows. I used to come out of the ring with my soaking wet shirt and jacket sticking to me. Ugh!!

My DD15 tends to faint easily in the heat (as do I). One show we were literally dressing her at the in-gate (jacket, helmet, etc.) while another parent was cooling her down with an ice water soaked washcloth. It had become customary when she got out of the ring, I'd grab the mustang and my mom (or another parent) would help her peel off the layers (jacket, helmet, etc.) as quickly as possible so she wouldn't faint. I'm actually looking forward to her next horse show now that we've found a way to keep her from fainting in those show clothes!

If you have a Tuesday Morning in your area, I picked up "Real Gear" brand towel for $6.99. It's really big (16.5" X 24"). They only had blue. I'm planning to cut it into at least 2 smaller pieces. I figure it's worth a try!

It sounds like they have:
chilly bandanas
chilly towels
chilly pad
chilly sport

Are the towels and pads really the same thing?

Which are you buying and which do you recommend if you could choose any?

Thank you!
