Frogg Toggs a must?

They are for me. I don't do well with heat and humidity and we are going in August this year. I need something and I would rather not carry around a spray misting bottle, too bulky. Frogg Toggs are the perfect choice.

We leave in a month and everyone has a chilly pad for the trip. I can't wait to try them out at Disney.

The only thing I don't like is how they dry stiff as cardboard.

I just picked up a couple at Walmart in the sports department for our trip next week. They even feel cool just pulling them out of the container.

i used the chilly pads on my trip last week after reading about them on here, and i must say -- total lifesaver! i definitely recommend them. i just had it drapped around my neck all day and wet it every couple of hours.

Count me in as a lover of frogg toggs! Our family used them last week and they were wonderful! Cutting them in half is a great idea as the towel size can be a little large and bulky. We also had a "sport" size which I liked better. When they got dry we just used a sink faucet to re-wet them and we were good to go in the Florida heat.

I picked some up a few weeks ago at Walmart just to try them based on the recommendations here. DH works in the blazing FL sun so outside of Disney I was very intrigued.

We used then the next day while out 4-wheeling & OMG what a diff it makes. DD & DH kinda scoffed at first (they aren't the prettiest things) but after just a short while you'd have to pry it out of their hands to get it back, lol. DH has been using them for work & LOVING the difference it is making.

We can't WAIT to try them at WDW.

FWIW, I checked their website a few days ago & I think they are running a 2/$20 sale on the Chilly Pads... not sure on their S&H costs, but might be worth checking into. :thumbsup2

We used them in June. Yes we will be taking them every time we go in the summer. We used a back back and when they are wet they are heavy. We also had five of them so I don't think one or two would make a difference in the weight of backpack but five did.

Oh and we draped them over our heads when waited waiting in line with no shade to keep the sun off of us. We got several looks but we got more questions of where we got them.

Add Chilly Pads to your search. They are towels that keep you cool through evaporation of water. They are very absorbent and don't drip when wet. They cost $10-15 and can be found on Amazon and at sporting goods stores. We used them a few weeks ago and would not want to spend a day in the heat without them.

FHP officers first told me about them, you'd be surprised how many CMs wear them and you would never know...Disney doesn't sanction or provide, I just know a lot of CMs that do and ladies I have to say think outside of the box night sweats a thing of the past...just sayin'

I have a bandana frogg togg and love it! Plan on buying more.

I think WDW could get together with Frogg Togg and make a pretty penny if they had these in their shops at WDW- I would love a "Mickey" Frogg Togg!:) Not to mention it contributes to the health and well being of the park guest!

I think they'd make a killing if they sold them in their shops in the summer! Put one out on display and boom! Those things would fly off the shelf!

:rotfl2: and be $40 instead of $12 ! lets not even suggest it ...I have NO will power ;)

Well I feel a bit sheepish now..... When DD decided to join color guard next year, one of the existing members gave her one of these as a "welcome gift". We had never seen them before so none of us had any clue what they were for, so she just thanked the person and put it aside. Taking it on our trip earlier this month didn't even occur to us.

Sooooo I take it from reading this that you wet it and drape it around your neck? And that keeps you cooler somehow?

I might tell the boys to give it a try when they are mowing this weekend to test them out.

Yep, it's that simple. It uses evaporation, I believe, so as it dries you simply re-wet it & it cools right back down again. They are also washable, just toss them in with a regular load of laundry but DON'T dry them, lol.

So it doesn't mess them up to cut them?

Nope, not at all.

In fact, I'd love to hear posts from the different ways people have cut/used them. We wondered at cutting one into squares small enough to fit in our sandals, lol!

OK, I need some enlightenment I guess.

A few years ago we tried some sort of bandana thing that had gel in it. They were ok for a few minutes, but not the lifesaver you guys are talking about.

Just wondering if these are the same type things, it seems to me that these would be hot to wear around your neck all day without any type of ventilation :confused3
