Frogg Toggs a must?

Here's a question for you- how are the frog toggs different than just putting a wet washcloth on your neck? Both just take advantage of the concept of evaporative cooling, so what's the difference?

Unlike a wet washcloth, it feels dry to the touch.

Ladies, do you wear different colors depending on what you wear?

For a long time I have been using a regular pink bandana I bought at Wal Mart for $1 - it has served me well - I soak it in ice water and put in around my head/neck.

The main difference I see in the two is that the Frogg Togg cools for a longer period of time than my bandana would and it provides more cooling. The bandana would dry out fairly rapidly in the Florida heat. Both work well - the bandana felt thinner on and was easier to tie - the frogg togg is a bit thicker. The frogg togg has a different feel on - can't really describe it but it does feel like a "cool amphibious skin" - LOL now that really may turn people off but I can't think of another way to describe it - it is aptly named!

The Frog Toggs don't feel super wet, like a soaked bandanna or wash cloth would.

For anyone interested, I got the sport sized Frog Toggs (somewhere between the bandanna and larger towel sizes) at our local Bed, Bath and Beyond on sale for under $10 each, and with the 20% off coupon they were around $8.

The frogg toggs are not wet to the touch and feel cool for hours, unlike a wet, drippy washcloth.

Found something at Costco that claims to do the same thing. Anybody tried these and can make a comparison?

We are using them right now, here in the desert heatwave. The temperature on my front porch is 128 degrees at the moment. We bought them at our Walmart today for $12.88 and gave them a test on the front porch. My wife is amazed, she can't believe how cool they are. Yesterday's local newscast tried them out and they said the ones they were using lasted over 3 hours in our dry heat before they had to wet them again. My wife says they are definitely going with us to WDW in September.

Well I broke down and bought them after reading all of the posts. They were a bit difficult too find in Walmart and most of the employees I asked had no clue what I was looking for. I finally found them in the sports dept. just am FYI for those looking for them

my Walmart has them in the camping section ..very near sports section... bought mine about 1 or 1 1/2 yrs ago still going strong

Ok. I am very interested as we are going in September. If I buy a sport sized Frogg Togg. I get it wet in the sink in my resort. Put it in a baggy and later in the day when I'm hot I get it out and wear it? But where and how? On the back of my neck rolled like a bandana? Do I wear it flat on my chest under a shirt? If so is it to wet and will it soak my shirt when it touches? I'm just not getting where/how you wear it. I wouldn't like it on my head.....

We went last year in June and I couldn't have survived without the Frog Tog and mister fan. I pretty much kept the frog tog on the back of my neck the entire time and it really helped!

Don't need to wet it and put it in a baggy; just take it in a restroom when you need it or even from a water fountain. Wear it wherever you need it, as a bandanna, shoal, etc. My wife would put it around her neck or lay it over her arms when they got hot. She said the coolness stays with you a while. For a while, she had it around her neck like a scarf and tucked the front of it down inside her shirt. Whatever works and keeps you the coolest.

Also, if you don't know where they are located in Walmart and most associates probably won't know either, just go to the Walmart website, do a search and order for pick up today in your store. The order goes directly to that store and shows up on the screen of the hand held terminal of the associate who pulls it from the shelf. The screen tells them where it is located. Within four hours, you get a message that it is ready for pick up and you just go to the "Site to Store" location and pick it up. That way, you don't have to run all over the place looking for it.

Frogg Toggs - BEST thing we took to keep cool during our trip. The heat index was reported at 105. Frogg Toggs saved our trip!:thumbsup2

They sound like a great idea. Are they pliable enough to use as a headband to hold your hair back? I'm thinking that having it tied so that the ends go down below your hair against the back of your neck might feel good.:thumbsup2

what I bolded in your post :faint: ewww ! please don't unless you mean fill a cup or bottle from there that would be like rinsing your socks in there ! :scared1:

I've gotten all of ours from Amazon and didn't pay over $10 for any of them. They have cute colors to choose from, too. All my local Walmart has is a cream color and I like summer colors much better!

We got them for the first time last year and will use them during summer months for every trip now! Love them- worth the money. For sure! They really work!!

We have been at wdw all week. The frog toggs are worth every penny. We have had a bunch of people ask us if we like them. We even cut then in half.

I have my frogg toggs but will I need them as much in late September.....what is the weather/heat like normally?

This is a much better option and doesn't look nearly as ridicules...

I own several of these shirts and normally use them when I workout, but wore them to Disney on my last trip...easily has one of the more comfortable trips I have had in years.

Frogg Toggs are almost as bad as Crocs....
