Frogg Toggs a must?

It sounds like they have:
chilly bandanas
chilly towels
chilly pad
chilly sport

Are the towels and pads really the same thing?

Which are you buying and which do you recommend if you could choose any?

Thank you!

I'm only familiar with the pads have used them almost everyday May through Dec almost 2 years now with great success Since its all the same company I would think it is just a matter of personal preference which kind

I would love to see some photos of people wearing them. Do you encorporate them into your outfit or throw them around your neck?

My daughter is wearing one in this picture...a chilly pad cut in half lengthwise and draped around her shoulders and neck. It helped keep her cool and in between classes she opened the zipper of her show shirt a bit to keep the air circulating. Notice it's not bulky under her shirt (like it would be if we hadn't cut it in half)?

Shyjade, your daughter's face isn't even flushed! I'll start using my FTs during my riding lessons (I hate it when the ring is 110 degrees at 9:30 AM!!). Can't wait to use them in Disney.

I don't have any pics of me with my frogg togg. Probably for good reason. I just unceremoniously schlepped them around my neck kind of like an ugly cross between a scarf and a neck brace.

I'm sure I looked super attractive, but I thought I was going to die from the heat.

I did eventually start wearing it "long" and tucking it under my shirt, but you could still see it (thin shirts in the hot hot weather)

EXACTLY!! That's why I'm such a huge fan!! That was our first time using them (at that show last weekend) and I can't wait to buy more. We both get overheated so easily and she really has trouble with the heat whenever riding in summer (helmet, boots, etc. don't help, as I'm sure you well know). We've tried the crystal gel filled neck wraps but they really don't work well (plus they are super wet & messy). No comparison!!

Just make sure the smooth side is making contact with your skin, and you won't be disappointed. I hope they work well for you riding, too!

To everyone who has cut theirs does it fray or break down by cutting it? We got four of the towels because that is all we could find locally (wanted the bandana style but didn't want to pay shipping) so I'm really thinking about cutting it into two strips.

Nope, it didn't fray at all. In fact I think the manufacturer even suggests cutting them.

No problem cutting ours either. Even washed it in the washing machine and it held up perfectly.

Do any of you find it any less effective when its cut in half lengthwise? (due to there being less towel in contact with your skin, drying out quicker, holding less water, etc)

I dont think i could have worn it full sized.. Too big and bulky... Cutting it worked great! Stayed cold for a a long time!
